There's a mole somewhere in Alessandro's organization.

I feel more scared now than I did when I thought people were after me just because we were together.

There's no way the Russians could know it was me who killed their most powerful assassin because all the Russians were killed that could have been eyewitnesses. I'm sure Alessandro killed them all.

Someone from the Moretti family is dirty.

And that means my life is really in danger because all of them know it was me who was kidnapped that time, so what other female could have killed him?

"Fuck." I sit up straight. "What are we going to do?"

We were shot at tonight. The only family I have were in danger because they were looking for me.

Alessandro sighs again like he's an old man. "We only got confirmation tonight. I think we need to have you bunkered down until we figure out who the mole is."

I frown down at him. "Bunkered down? What does that mean? What about Phoebe? They're starting filming soon, I don't want to ta

The guy at border control looks from my passport up to me and I gulp. I really hope I don't look as nervous as I'm feeling. The 'cab driver' who picked me up back at home, handed me a package with a passport in the name of Olivia Petersen, along with a few thousand dollars of cash and even more yen. I boarded a plane to Japan without any problems, but now the Japanese official is very thorough in checking the passport and Visa which looks extremely legit. "Is this your first time visiting Japan?" He asks with a slight accent. I plaster a smile on my face. "It is, I'm very excited to be visiting your country." He smiles back slightly and stamps my password and I exhale quietly in relief. I trusted Alessandro to get me documentation that would pan out. I don't intend to be talking to anyone here or make friends, so hopefully I won't be having to use the alias. Apparently, the Russians won't be looking for me in Japan, so I will be safe here for now. Alessandro promised me h

I wonder what Phoebe is doing, if they started filming at the club. I wonder if she's mad at me for disappearing. She probably is. I would be thoroughly pissed off if she did that to me. Life in Kyoto has been beautiful and completely uneventful. During the day I wander down the old streets, admire the beautiful architecture, and eat in quaint restaurants food I've never tried before. Every Monday morning, when I open my front door, there's an envelope with cash in it. I have tried to stay awake all night in case I hear a sound outside to investigate who is leaving the money, but I never hear anything. Almost a month has passed, and I miss Alessandro with everything that I am. There's a void in my heart, a physical ache that doesn't want to go away. I still want to hit myself over the head for allowing another human being to have so much power over me. But he asked me to trust him, and I do. So I run. Every morning at six am, I put on my running shoes that I bought courtesy of the

  • Sinfully Yours   CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE

I have a new friend in Kyoto. He is a student in a private university and I was completely correct about the private schools and the accent. That means Kaito is loaded, or at least his family is. I honestly don't know what it is with me and attracting men with money. At this rate, I should just stop reading all the research papers I've been consuming and accept the fact that I was born to be a kept woman. Not in this life or the next. My new friend has been joining me for my early morning runs at six a.m. I haven't completely lost my mind, so I meet him at a cafe in town, we run for about an hour and part ways at the cafe again. I make sure he doesn't follow me home. According to Kaito, I'm a student who is taking a hiatus. I left my home and country to find myself and ensure I'm on the right path. He's curious to know more about my life, but I manage to always turn the questions around on him. He studies law, and I have a hard time syncing the carefree, playful guy with b

  • Sinfully Yours   CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO

My heart is galloping in my chest in anticipation of some excitement and danger. I'm being stupid and reckless, I know there will be a price to pay for that. My heart rate picks up even more at the thought of what punishment might entail. And again reminding myself that I shouldn't be on my way to a cafe to meet some guy I don't know, who has clearly expressed some interest in me too. Alessandro would be on a murder path. For all I know, Kaito can be part of the Bratva seeking to end my life. I've learned that nothing in this world is impossible, so why am I even doing this? Playing with my own life? I know why I'm doing it, and a small, defiant smile graces my lips as I see Kaito already waiting for me at the cafe. "I didn't think you would come." He does look slightly surprised, his eyes scanning me from head to toe. I'm trying to be inconspicuous, wearing black sweats and a hoodie, but I still look undeniably female, even as I'm trying to soften the effect. "Did you thi

I shouldn't be here. For once, I regret making a hasty decision based on foolishness and curiosity. These are not some college boys looking for some barbaric entertainment. The men in the room scream power and sophistication, and I've learned recently that they are the ones girls like me should stay far away from. I open my mouth to tell Kaito that I've changed my mind and that it would maybe be best if he takes me home instead, when one of the fine gentlemen approaches us, a frown deeply etched between his eyebrows. He doesn't even look in my direction, instead talking only to Kaito in Japanese, to which Kaito calmly replies. The man's frown deepens at whatever Kaito says and promptly turns around without even glancing at me. Not that I mind either, the look in his eyes was pissed and I do not wish the be the recipient of it. Kaito, however, is cool as ice sipping on his beer like he owns the place. Yet, he is the youngest man there. "Should we go?" I ask hesitantly. I cert

The hands on my face are all wrong. They're not holding my cheeks like their life depends on it, and the lips are all cold and hard. It takes my brain a second to process what is happening, and then I shove Kaito away with all my strength. "What the fuck, dude!" I spit out angrily. The asshole has the audacity to look offended like I just tried to kiss him. And now I can see what an entitled prick he really is. Somewhere between last week and today, his attitude has completely changed. He must have sensed that I knew there was something up with those fights. What he doesn't know is that I have experience with the mafia, and that dungeon looked shady as fuck. I was not going to get involved in another underground business. I'm already in deep shit because of the previous one. He looks at me with a bored expression. "You've been such a waste of my time." My mouth hangs open in shock. Who the fuck does this dude thinks he is? Some kind of gift to women? And what is it he was wantin

I slowly exhale the breath I was holding in and close my eyes in relief. "Who the fuck are you!" Kaito grabs my arm possessively. Thomas steps out from the shadow and I've never been so glad to see his face. Not the person I was bargaining on to show up, but I will take anything I can get right now. He holds his hands up and I squint my eyes at him. What the hell is he doing? This is the time he's supposed to bring out his crazy karate moves or something, show Kaito that he's messing with the wrong people here! "I come in peace, Mr.Takahashi." Thomas's voice is calm. "I'm from the Moretti outfit, to which Miss Olivia is a family member. I've been sent to escort her home." I smirk victoriously. Seems like my plan is working after all. The hand on my arm drops immediately and Kaito looks down at me with narrowed eyes. "You're mafia?" After the fight club incident, I knew there was more to Kaito, but he seems to know who the Morettis are, which means he has more knowledge of the u

When you grow up in the slums, you have some pretty vivid ideas of traveling. You imagine yourself walking in the cobbled streets of Italy, maybe running with the bulls in Spain. But nothing prepares you for the utter exhaustion of having to take two planes to get to a country, and an overlay that seems as if it will never end. It's especially unpleasant if your companion barely speaks two words to you. Maybe if I was traveling with Phoebe or even Sammy, the time would have gone by faster. On the last leg of the second flight, I go over to Thomas's cubicle, courtesy of first class and too much alcohol, and glare down at him where he's lying down with his head propped on his arms. "Care to explain why you're in such a prissy mood." I say low enough so one of the flighty attendants can't overhear our conversation. "I'm insulted, I thought you would've missed me." He doesn't bother opening his eyes, and when I get no reaction from him, I huff and turn around to go back to my own

I look down at my three babies, where they're all bundled in the same incubator. They were born on thirty-three weeks, but none of them had to be incubated. I'm so proud of them, all of them able to breathe on their own. I was so worried, but they did it. I've never cried so much as I've been crying in the last week. The pediatrician said they should stay in the incubator for at least two weeks, and they were each placed in their own one. But the nurses said when they're apart, they cry, and when they're together, they don't. It's the cutest thing ever. Alessandro can't tell them apart because they look exactly alike. I don't know how, but I know who is who. Their father proudly named them, and right now, Arcangelo's mouth cutely yawns, even though they're sleeping. One week until we can take them home. Right now, they've wearing onesies courtesy of their aunt saying Thing One, Thing Two, and Thing Three. I miss Phoebe in the house, but she has to follow her own path, and she

FARRAH "I'm so sorry, Thomas." My bodyguard is a lone figure at the grave of his wife. "Me too." He says softly with his head bowed. "I was so busy with..." He doesn't complete the sentence, so I take his hand in mine and squeeze his. "It's okay to say it." "I was so busy protecting others, I didn't take care of my own family." He completes the sentence on a sob. "You know that's not true." I tell him. "You were looking after all of us. You just didn't think her past would catch up to you." "But I should have!" He turns guilty eyes to mine where I'm sitting in a wheelchair next to him. "That's what I was trained to do, and I failed my own wife." He's going to feel guilty for a while, probably forever, so I don't say a word. Alma's killer was from a religious society who has been following her and Thomas's lives for a while now. They believe that she betrayed her country and her religion. She would have been stoned to death if she was in her own country. The government has tak

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Trey looks worriedly at me, his eyes darting back and forth in the dark street. "This ends tonight." I go over my body again, making sure for what seems like the hundredth time that I have all my guns and hand grenades in place. It seems like the fuckers are playing right into my hands. Thanks to Enzo's intel, I have the remaining four elders all under one roof in one night. By now, they must know that Fabiono is dead, but they still think I'm inside that jail. They probably know it was me, too, so they're most likely having a meeting to decide what they're doing next. Little do they know, I'm striking while the iron is still hot. Trey shakes his head, his eyes on the surveillance footage on his phone, all courtesy of Evan. Farrah was right, I did orchestrate Evan's bullying so I could be his savior. It was one of the best things I ever did, too, because I now have access to a satellite that gives me vision all over the world. And I have a gre

ALESSANDRO As soon as I stop in front of the quaint cottage, a shot gets fired from me from somewhere in the house, and I duck. I slowly get out of the driver's seat with my hands in the air. If this guy is as dangerous as Thomas said he is, I will be dead in the next second. "My name is Alessandro Moretti, I believe my wife is in there." I shout, hoping they can hear me. I take it as a good sign when I don't get shot at again. The front door opens, and a sight for sore eyes greets me. I run to that door as fast as I can, and then I scoop Farrah in my arms, her smell that is uniquely hers enveloping me. "What the fuck did you do, asshole." She sobs in my neck. "Are you okay? I thought you were in jail." I pull back so I can look at her. There are dark circles under her eyes, and she looks tired, but she's always the best thing I will ever see. "What are you doing on your feet?" I ask her. "You're not supposed to be walking around. You're supposed to be still." She hugs me ag

  • Sinfully Yours   CHAPTER 153

ALESSANDRO Dario is waiting for me when I walk out of jail the next morning. I don't like the look in his eyes. "What's wrong?" I want to know immediately. He holds the keys to his car out for me, and I grab it. I may be the younger of the two of us, but I've always been the one that was in control. He's never seemed to mind. It's just how our personalities work. "Farrah is gone." The earth drops from beneath my feet for a moment, but I take a deep breath. With Farrah, I've found that there's always an explanation. I get behind the wheel and wait for him to get in beside me. "What happened?" "One of her bodyguards was found with a single stab wound. Luckily, he's not dead." Dario sounds worried. "The hospital's cameras were conveniently out of order for about two hours, but both her and Phoebe are gone. And the other bodyguard." "What about Thomas?" "Still missing." I'm trying to keep my cool, but I bang on the steering wheel. "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!" Thomas has a few numbers I

FARRAH "Oh my God!" I scream. "T.J!" Damian doesn't even stay at the crash. He just swerves his car and goes around the wreck. "What are you doing?" Kevin shouts at him. "You have to stop, we have to help her!" "Are you okay? "Damian looks at me in the rearview mirror. "I'm fucking fine!" I'm about to lose it. We just left a kid there in a crashed car. "We have to go back and help her." Damian is still calm as he grabs his phone from the console and dials 911. He calmly tells the operator that there was a crash with the address, and then he disconnects before the operator can ask any questions. Phoebe is sobbing next to me, and I feel my own tears wetting my cheeks. We just left Alma there. What if she was badly hurt? Who was that behind the wheel of the truck, and why did he crash into her? The windows weren't even tinted of the car. If they were looking for me, they would've been able to see I wasn't in that car. "The three of you better listen to me and listen to me carefu

FARRAH "Is something going on here that I should know about?" Damian looks accusingly at me in Dr. Sanchez's office. "I've been calling Abe with no luck." Abe is the other bodyguard who's currently on shift. "I think that was my husband's uncle on the way to my room." I gulp, my heart rate skyrocketing. "I'm not sure, but with everything going on with my husband right now, I think he might be trying to hurt me." Hurt is a mild word, but Dr. Sanchez is in the room, and she already looks freaked out. I don't want to worry her any more than she already is. "And you were planning to do what exactly?" Damian wants to know. "I need to get out of here." "Against my advice!" Dr. Sanchez looks at me like I'm crazy. "What if you need blood? You do realize how serious your condition is, right? You are not just risking the lives of the babies, but yours, too." "I'm a sitting duck in the hospital." I shake my head at her. "And if someone kills me, there will be no babies or me anyway. Trus

ALESSANDRO Edward Whittle looks like I'm going to jump him any minute. But like I told him, I'm not here for him. He deserves to go to trial for what he's done, to be torn apart by the public and sentenced. Killing him would be a mercy he doesn't deserve. The asshole starts crying after I don't give him any attention, and I look at him in utter disgust. Those girls in that container were crying, too. I wonder how many girls he's smuggled in containers over the years. What has happened to those girls, were they still alive? Edward Whittle should get life in prison and become the bitch of a thousand men. And even that punishment won't be enough. He follows me around like a little puppy when it's dinner time. The dude jumps at the tiniest noise. That's what you get when you play on the wrong side of the law, and you don't think of the consequences. The inmates seem to know who I am and avoid me, so I get my food that looks like someone puked on it in peace, with my entourage of o

FARRAH "You can't leave the hospital." Phoebe drags both her hands through her hair. "We have to come up with something else. Plus, I think you're being paranoid." I don't know how to explain it to her. All I know is that my gut is never wrong, and I can feel that impending gloom. Nobody is hurting my babies, I would kill them first. Even if I have to do it kicking and bleeding. "I'm not paranoid." I sigh. I wish Alessandro would let me in on his damn plans and stop leaving me blindsided. "Call in one of the bodyguards." Phoebe looks at me skeptically, but do as I ask. The guy is well-built and looks like he belongs on a magazine cover and not outside my hospital room. He nods his head at me. "Mrs. Moretti." I'm still not used to being called that, but I do like the ring to it. "Do you know where Thomas is?" I ask. There's no way he just dropped off the face of the earth. "No ma'am. Thomas just gave us strict instructions that the door should be guarded at all times and that
