"Hello, how may I help you ma'am?" Murphy asked, staring at the red-haired lady in front of him."I...um...Rey. Where is Rey?" Amelia muttered. Murphy raised a brow at her."Ma'am, if you are waiting for someone, then you should sit at a table. I do not know the names of the customers here so I have no idea who Rey is. You can try calling him, that would be better." Murphy said."No, he is not a customer. He works here. I have met him a couple of times here." Amelia tried to clarify with a desperate tone."Hello...this is my restaurant and I also do most of the work here," Murphy responded, wondering if Amelia was sane."No. I have never seen you here before, I....""Miss please, you are holding up the line. There are people behind you who want to get food." Murphy cut in.Amelia turned back to see a couple behind her, then she turned again to look at Murphy."Please listen to me. His name is Rey, he is tall and he has a broad chest. He has invited me over a couple of times, I have ne
Amelia's heart skipped a beat as she subconsciously moved backward. The masked man walked towards her, clutching a gun in his hands.Amelia moved backward towards her car in fright, the moment she felt she was close enough to the car, she turned to go into it when the door was slammed shut. Someone had just entered her car and locked it."Who are you and what do you want?" Amelia shrieked, with her voice laced with panic and her heart pounding against her ribcage."Here, if you want money I can give you everything I have on me, just let me go. I'm innocent, I have never hurt anyone." She said again. She threw her purse towards the masked man and it landed on his foot.He looked at it and looked back at her without attempting to pick it up. For some reason, he looked familiar but Amelia just couldn't put things together at that point. She hoped the owner of the restaurant would have noticed what was going on and would have called for help as there was no way she could do that herself.
The nurses on duty carried Amelia to the emergency unit, Rey immediately went after them but he was stopped."I'm sorry Mr, but you can't go in, this ward is for patients only." A nurse said, on noticing Rey."But, I can't leave her alone, I have to be with her." Rey argued."Hospital protocols sir, I'm sorry." The nurse stated as she drew the curtain.Rey stared at the blue curtains in front of him, then he sighed and walked backwards. Everything around gave him a sick feeling, the smell of disinfectants, the white walls, the over polite nurses and everything. He felt his head spinning and he had to go look for a place to sit. He wanted to get out of there but he couldn't, he couldn't leave his princess alone."The patient's blood pressure is high, how about her pulse rate?" The male doctor asked."It's quite low, doctor. Her respiratory rate is low as well." The nurse responded."Her temperature is high, should I give her the intra muscular injection to bring it down?" The nurse que
AMELIA'S CONDITION.Just as she walked past, Rey grabbed her by her arm, startling her. She immediately spun to face him."Is there a problem, Mr? " She questioned, trying her best to keep her cool."I need to know how she is faring, stable is not the word to use. Is she going to be fine?" Rey asked.Dr Alvarez's gaze softened a little. She glanced at his hand which was on her arm and he immediately withdrew his hand."Sorry about that." He apologized. "I'm sorry, but who are you?" Dr Alvarez asked, staring intently at Rey.Rey hesitated for a moment, then replied firmly, "It doesn't matter who I am. Please, just tell me how Amelia is doing.""Oh...her name is Amelia. I never went through her case note, but that's by the way. What is your relationship with her? Because, I'm afraid but, the hospital policy requires me to only discuss a patient's condition with immediate family members." Dr Alvarez explained.Rey felt a surge of frustration and desperation. He needed to know. Without t
It was late evening, and Dana could feel the weariness creeping into her bones. She stifled a yawn as she turned to look at the wall clock to check the time. It was ten minutes to her closing time. She heaved a sigh of relief. It had been very exhausting doing both her tasks and Amelia's tasks. She got up and switched off the computers in the office, then she began straightening the papers on the desk so as to know the ones due for disposal. She was always one of the first to leave after closing hours and Amelia's absence was not about to change that. The ten minutes passed very slowly, and finally it was time for her to leave. As she made her way towards the lockers to grab her coat and bag, something caught her eye—a crumpled piece of paper sticking out from beneath a pile of files. She ignored it at first, but then her Curiosity piqued, she reached for it and smoothed it out. It was a document, neatly typed and marked with urgent in bold letters across the top. Dana recognized Mr.
Mr Brown looked shocked and furious at the same time. The news that had just been delivered to him felt like a punch to the gut. Dana, standing by his side, looked equally disheveled."Mr Brown...that can't be. The airport is making a mistake." Dana said, with her hands clutching her chest. "It's impossible," she blurted out, shaking her head in disbelief. "The airport must have made a mistake. There's no way this is true."Mr Brown sank into the chair again, and facepalmed himself in obvious disappointment."I thought Amelia had changed," he muttered, more to himself than anyone else in the room. "Changed? What are you talking about?" Dana questioned. She had never met the previous mischievous Amelia."See? You know nothing about her and here you are trying to vouch for her in her absence." Susan snapped."I may have not known Amelia before, I may not have an idea of how she behaved before but what I do know is that she is not a wayward person. She is nice, sweet and responsible." Da
Dana pushed the door open, then she walked to Amelia's table and sat down, her mind racing with worry for Amelia. She took out her phone and dialed Amelia's number once again, hoping against hope that this time she would pick up. The phone rang and rang, but there was still no answer. Anxiety gnawed at Dana’s insides as she considered the implications."Amelia please pick up the phone. Everyone is worried about you, even your father thinks you are lying to him, please pick up." She muttered, as if Amelia could hear her.She bit her lips nervously and tried calling Amelia again, but still no response. She sighed and put down the phone. She worriedly ran her hands through her hair.Just then, the door was swung open and Susan walked in. Dana looked up to see her approaching figure."What is it now, Susan?" Dana asked sharply, standing up to face Susan.Susan stopped in front of Dana, looking up at her as Dana was a few inches taller than she was."I just wanted to see how you're faring.
Mr. Brown trudged up the familiar steps to his front door, his mind swirling with worry and exhaustion. The events of the day were already taking their toll on him. He had finally agreed to go home after series of pleadings from Susan. The cook had heard about what had happened. She believed Amelia was safe and Mr Brown was only getting all worked up for nothing. After taking a shower, she began pleading with him all evening to eat something, but he couldn't bring himself to even think about food. "I have no appetite." He had insisted and after some time, the cook let him be.Mr Brown could barely even sleep. He kept tossing and turning on the bed, his thoughts consumed by Amelia's disappearance.Very early the next morning, he was already up and ready to begin a search for Amelia."Did you sleep last night, sir?" The cook asked as soon as she saw him walking down the stairs. The eye bags in his eyes were very prominent."Yes, I did. Is there a problem?" He snapped at her."Not a
