The two of us walk down the lengthy hallway: one willingly while the other (me) has to be practically dragged all the way down to the great family room.
I already know that those maids are going to still be there when we get down there. They'll never miss the chance at seeing the King face-to-face; he's like a god to them for some reason, like a sex god or something.
"Why do I even have to come to this stupid meeting?" I groan, trying my hardest to rip my arm free from Maddox but he keeps it tight in his hold, flashing me a disapproving frown my way.
He yanks me closer, making it so we're arm-to-arm. Well, more like my head against his shoulder. With a small sigh, he casually places his arm around my waist as though I'm not at all angry with him and all his doings.
