I was so excited: it had been a week since we mated and completed the cycle and I had finally learned to turn down or off the voices and thoughts of the pack members on my own, without Caleb's help. And this particular night, the pack was holding an official ceremonial for me, and I was kind of nervous, but Cara assured me it would only be words and celebration, so I didn't have to worry.

Caleb and I had been talking about our next steps, we were planning to go back to the city the day after, and pay a visit to my mother… a week late, but that didn't bother me anymore… I knew she would be there for me always, and I will have her in my heart forever.
