Chapter 179: "Sudden Changes"

Returning to our current command center was easy, but something was different. There was tension, I could sense that before we arrived. Raziel had a very serious face, a change from his usual emotionless mask. Caleb starts to look around and as he does this, I am able to see things as he sees them. There is an unusual quietness around the land of the wind creatures, and Aeolus is impatient.

I am about to walk through the tall trees that serve as arches and enter when Raziel pulls my hand at the same time Caleb pulls me from the other. "Wait…" He says.

Zareen's eyes widen as she seems to feel something nearby. Is she able to sense things too?

I look at Raziel first, then at Caleb, and he pulls me into his arms as the others reach us. Raziel examines the double arch and he steps back. "These gates have been cursed. They were here."

I hold my breath and look around panicked. This chase has turned into hunt; them hunting us.
