Chapter 10

It's been one hour since Braylon came to the hospital. He was walking front and forth with nervousness. If anything happened to Alan, he would definitely turn the hospital upside down. His mind was like that right now.

The door of the ward clicked open. A doctor came out of the room.

It's still not too late to change, You…. Who you used to be. Yourself waiting for the ray of your lost epitome.

“Doctor, How was my boy?” The words choked his throat and he wasn't able to talk properly. Zaneta patted Braylon's shoulder to calm him for a second, at least to hear what the doctor was going to say.

“He was fine but the mental health of the child was not stable. He needed his father the most right now. He was mumbling about his dad even in his coma. I hope you can understand what I am saying”, Doctor sighed.

Now Braylon tried not to burst into tears. He held back his grief and nodded yes. Zaneta worried about both of them.

“He will wake up after some time. you can discharge him once the temperature drops”, After saying that, the Doctor walked away from them.

“I'm sorry Braylon, I wasn't able to take care of Alan well”, She apologized to him.

“It's not your fault Sister, It was all my fault. I'm not a good father and good friend. everything… I'm not good enough for everyone”, He was already broken as hell. Zaneta couldn't speak anything. She could only stay by his side for now.

They stayed there for three hours till Alan woke. He was fine after seeing his dad beside him. The little one was happy, it couldn't be described in words.

“Sorry baby, Dad made you suffer”, A drop of tears wetted his cheeks. Soft baby hands were wiped off gently.

“Dad is the best '', Alan didn't waste a minute. He hugged his dad tightly. Zaneta was relieved. Zaneta patted Braylon again and took her to leave, giving private time for dad and son.

“Dad, I don't want to be here. I always felt alone. Can you bring me with you?” Alan nuzzled Braylon's neck.

“Ok ok. You can come with me but you have to be obedient”, Braylon said, He ruffled the little one's hair and lifted him in his arms.

After completing the discharge procedures, Braylon brought Alan to his office. No one came to check on Braylon who left the office abruptly. It somewhat hurt him but he had no right to ask them for that.

IN HIS OFFICE

When he reached the office, He brought Alan with him inside. Everyone there dropped their jaws when they saw Braylon with a child. Alan was sleeping cutely in Braylon's embrace.

“Braylon, where the hell did…”, Alex stopped asking when he saw Alan. Franklyn and Eryx turned and were shocked as hell. They didn't think he would bring Alan with him.

“I'm sorry. He was ill and had to rush to the hospital. I think I have disturbed the work”, He apologized to them while putting Alan on the sofa gently. They were mesmerized by the little one's face. He was exactly like Braylon.

Eryx's heart skipped a beat. How could he be so cute, exactly like his dad? He couldn't utter a word but stared at Alan continuously. Braylon was talking to Alex and explained the condition of Alan who was suffering from fever.

“It would be great if he was my son too”, Eryx thought.

“Damn, what the hell am I thinking? How can a man get pregnant even if there is a possibility? Braylon won't… right”, Even though he was cold towards Braylon, he couldn't help but care about him.

Alex touched Alan's forehead to feel the temperature. It was a bit high though. He couldn't either support Braylon or follow Eryx. He was stuck in the middle of his two friends.

“Let's get into our business or are you guys going to continue your useless chit-chat further?”, Eryx groaned.

Braylon took off his coat and covered Alan gently. The sleeping little beauty was so comfortable after he was covered with his dad's coat. Being in a white shirt and black jeans, He looked kinda of hot for Eryx. In these four years of struggle to forget Braylon, everything was scattered again and again because of his presence.

They again went back to their work. Everyone was busy checking the case files so focused. That time Eryx received mail from someone. He was first hesitant to open. Because recently they had been receiving prank emails. Maybe it's one of them.

But he opened the mail at last. He wasn't sure still opened it. Thanks to that he again had a case.

“Hi sir, I'm James Trice who was working as a school teacher at West Falls Village. Two months ago there was an accident, one girl child was missing all of sudden. I tried to inform the local police but there was something wrong with the cops and the village. They had been ignoring it since they knew about the missing case. It was not only that, around 8 children were missing in these 4 years but no files were found about those cases. I was suspicious about these cases so I mailed you directly. If you come to our college I will tell you in person. Brother, please help me with this, I am new to this village and I moved to this village 5 months ago”

As soon as he read that mail, he took out the old case and looked at it again. That village was connected to the highway which was the last crime that happened. The motel was located on the highway which was leading to the West Falls village.

He forwarded the mail to everyone. Franklyn was already at his peak of shock. Their duty was to solve the difficult cases which were not solved by local police. Now they had another one before finishing the last one. Braylon looked at Eryx confusingly. As the head of the team, he should be the one who had to make the final decisions.

“Senior, what should we do now? Are we going there in person?” Franklyn asked him. Eryx's gaze turned towards Braylon who was staring at him the whole time.

“I'm not the leader here, you should ask the person who came here as a lead”, His mocking tone really hurt Braylon. But he cleared his throat and hid his pain.

“Ahem! Whether this mail was a prank or not, we should go and check. As a detective, we should at least check whether the information was right or just child's play”, He said as Eryx rolled his eyes. He was about to talk to Braylon but was stopped by a sweet voice.

Yeah! It was from Alan who just woke up from sleep.

Dad!

He whined as Braylon rushed towards him and pulled him towards his embrace.

“What happened to my baby? Why are you crying? Did dad wake you up by my noises”, Braylon ruffled his hair. How gentle and caring he was. Eryx was amused. It's true though he was always silent and did his work and always took care of him who was clingy as hell.

But now he saw him taking care of the child, Eryx wanted to shout at him for leaving him back then. His ears became red because of the anger.
