Getting to Know You

Sigmund's POV

I've found her, the love of my life is right here with me. The problem is she is so young. There is a full sixteen years between us. She is a part of the pack but didn't exist when I was here last. I don't care, Sophia is my mate and even if it takes years more I will wait for her.

I look at her as we walk towards the pack that was so horrible to her. She knows now that the bad guys are all gone, but that doesn't mean this will be easy for her. We enter the pack land and she runs towards the back lot, where I see a house with an open door.

"Momma? Kea? Are you two in there?"

I follow her, slowly as to not scare them. They will have to know who I am. Her mom has already met me a few times before I was Alpha, but she will remember me. She has to. For all of our sakes, she has to remember me.

I stand outside the door as I watch my mate going into her house. The woman in the house looks happy. she looks like she is on cloud nine as her son is sitting with her on the couch. Sophia walks up to her wrapping her in a hug as she calls me in.

"Mom, I have a mate, he's the alpha now."

Her mom looks over her shoulder at me and smiles. "Your brother was telling me all about how a big shiny wolf killed his dad. I knew who it was the moment he said it." Her eyes glisten as she looks into my eyes. "I knew you would come back and save us. Just like I knew I was going to have my baby girl the night you left. When we held eye contact for that short while, something went off inside of me."

Sophia looks at me, her eyes wide as though she just realized something. "Calm, safe. I felt calm and safe right before I came out of my mom. I felt the same way just now in the woods when you were there."

I smile. "That's how a real mate will make you feel. I won't hurt you or rush anything. What I would like to do is stay here and help you guys out. I will be taking over the head of the pack, but I won't be letting any men get away with what my uncle had encouraged."

Sophia's mom smiles as she holds her son close. "See, son, this is a real man. This is a man who deserves to be a werewolf. He deserves the title of Alpha. I knew it from the moment he was born."

I look at her slightly confused. "What do you mean, from the moment I was born?"

She smiles as she looks into my eyes. "I was your momma's midwife. I was there when you were born."

I go up to her, still naked and not caring, giving her a hug. "I miss her. I miss my mom. Anything you can tell me about her, I would love to hear."

She laughs as she says, "Okay, but first you should probably put some clothes on, big boy."

I look down at myself and realize the mating bond hasn't been fulfiled, so my cock is still rock hard. "Oh, yeah, I just need to find something..."

She points to the stairs and says, "He's fucking dead, but I bet you that his clothes will fit you, have em all."

Sophia's POV

The way mom reacted to him, I guess I don't have anything to fear from him, at least. But this man could definetly hurt me if he really wanted to. I sit next to my mom, my brother in her lap as she looks over at me. "You do know that he is one of a kind, right?"

I tilt my head to the side, wondering what she could possibly mean. "One of a kind?"

She nods her head as she looks over at the stairs. "He is an Alpha, but he's not just a one pack Alpha, he's a born Alpha."

I still don't get it, so I cozy in next to her as I ask, "And what is a born Alpha, momma?"

She smiles as she kisses Kea on the head. "He is one who can lead all werewolves, all were animals, actually."

I sit up straight as he comes down the stairs dressed in some of my dad's clothes. "He can what now?"

My mom smiles as he comes up behind me, sitting on the couch next to me. "He can lead more than one pack. His Alpha powers will exceed us all. That's why I had faith in him coming back before they got to you." She looks into my eyes. "Was I wrong? Did they get to you, or did he save you just in time?"

My eyes widen as I realize he literally saved me just in time. I look behind me at the new Alpha. "Did you know all this about yourself?" He nods, letting it sink in for me. I turn my body towards him as I meet his eyes again. "So, you know I'm your mate?" He nods again. "And you know that you are like a super Alpha or something?" His smile grows as I keep asking him questions. "What else do you know?"

"I know that you momma is a seer of sorts. She can see things that others can't. I don't know how she can, but there's no way she'd have known all that about me if she wasn't... I've never told a soul about any of this."

I look back at my mom. "What the hell, mom?"

She just smiles. "I knew from the moment he made eye contact with me that you were meant for him. I couldn't leave with him. I had to stay. I just know things sometimes."

I pull her into a hug as I look around the house. "Do we really want to stay in this house? I mean, dad kinda ruined it for us all, with all his yelling and abuse. Don't you think?"

Kea pipes up, "I think we should move to the pack house and run the pack from there."

Our new Alpha, my mate, who I still don't know his name, takes my hand and stands up. "I would happily move to the pack house with all of you." He looks into my eyes as he smiles. "And my name is Sigmund, love."

I blush as he walks hand in hand with me towards the pack house. This can't be happening. The way my life was going two hours ago, compaired to right now is so different. I can't be everything to everyone. If I'm mated to the Alpha of all weres, then I am the Luna of all weres.

I stand stock still at the realization. "I'm the Luna?"

His eyes find me as he turns to me, holding both my shoulders. "Yes, Sophia, you are my Luna, and you will be the one to help me lead everyone. We will take it one step at a time and we will be fair in all of our decisions. There is no rush to seal the mating bond, I realize you are pure. Just move in with me, and trust me, trust the bond we have."

I swallow hard. I want to accept his words I want to be the one he can count on to keep his... uhh, our pack together. But how can I promise to be that when I can't even promise to get into his bed and take his uhh... Well, now that I think about it I really want to take that. But I don't know if I can do this. I was never one to hold power.

I feel his grip tighten on my shoulders as my mom pats my back. "Just one step at a time, Sophia, just like I taught you from the day you learned how to walk. Take each thing one step at a time. Don't worry about the future when you have the now here with you."

I feel a sudden calm was over me as I stand there, facing my Alpha, my mate, ready to accept the bond, I realize suddenly. This is the moment I was waiting for, the one who can change my feelings about men and the danger they pose. 

"I'm ready," is all I say as Sigmund takes my face between his hands and kisses my lips.

"Are you sure?" I watch his eyes bob between my own eyes as he waits for anything further. He seems to really care about my opinion, so I really think about it. 

"Yeah, I really am ready. Can we do this tonight?" I look between my mom and Sigmund as I ask, "Does anyone have to witness us bonding?"

This makes Sigmund and my mom burst out laughing as they both hug me tight, my mom says, "No deary, that is a horrid tradition that his creepy uncle took on. You don't have to witness it to feel the bond between the two of you."
