A New World

Rockledge's POV

Waking up, I feel fully rested, like all the sleep I ever got in my life was just a blink. No, the rested I feel right now is more than that even. I feel like I may never need to sleep again. I look over at the still glowing child who now lays on Iris' chest.

She is still asleep when I whisper to this little boy. "You made us fall asleep, didn't you?"

This hours old little boy just giggles. I smile, loving the way his eyes find mine as though he is answering me. I don't hear any words. What I do know is that this little man, who we've yet to name, has captured us all and made us sleep.

I take him from Iris' arms and smile as I get up. "You may be some being we can't explain, but you are still a baby. We need to get that ripe bottom of yours changed." This brings another giggle out of him. "You think I'm funny, huh?"

Again I don't hear anything, but I get him to the changing table and notice that his diaper is loaded. Why didn't he wake us up if he can put us to slee
