CHAPTER TWO

Walking into the cafeteria, she saw her brother as always, surrounded by his team and his fans, mostly girls. There is a rumor he is going to be voted as prom king but no one knows who will be his queen since he doesn't even have a girlfriend and they are a lot of hottie's in the school.

She sighed and walked to his table "hey there baby sis" he said immediately he saw her, he pulled her in for a bear hug and kissed her head.

"The game's been cancel, I will be going to Megan's party, wanna come?" He smiled at her. Anna blinked twice, is he asking her?

"Mom won't let me stay out late, you know how she is" she frowned.

"You will be with me, don't you forget and she is not going to say no as long as I will be there, you know that."

"Well...I have accepted three tickets from Mel."

"For what?" He frowned.

"Said I should ask you to go with her to the party" she bit her lips and he gave a dramatic sigh.

"And you accepted without consulting me first, I don't want to go with her, I want to go with you and that's it. I'm going with you, you can return her tickets to her, I will get some for you and we can even go together to watch the movie, how about that? Hmm?" He smiled.

Anna smiled genuinely for the first time that day, her brother really knows how to pamper her, so tell her, why won't she fall in love with him since he takes care of her more than any other guy.

Jason kissed her head again before turning to chat with his teammates, he offered her his seat and walked to the counter to get them some lunch. He never let's her do anything when he is around.

Sitting with his mates as they have their lunch, listening to their stories, she felt so alive than she had been since that day. Well you might say it helps since Jason gifts her a smile occasionally. His attitude made it hard for any of his friends to approach her because he is very protective of his sister, hurt him? You are still friends, hurt his sister? You are his enemy to the bone, he will never let you off. Some might say it will make Anna not to have suitors but definitely not.

Anna has had four boyfriends but none of them last up to a week, she is always finding one fault or the other, making the relationship not to last, but that didn't stop the boys from coming, for Anna is a beauty but unfortunately, she is a beauty whose heart belongs to her brother. She has boyfriends and breaks up with them, only for one purpose, her brother will console her and she gets to spend the night in his room or he in hers, sleeping in his arms, that is why Anna gets a boyfriend.

School over, standing outside the school waiting for either their mom or dad which ever that comes first to pick them up.

"Jason, there is this new book I read" Anna started.

"Hmm, what is all about?" He asked staring at his phone screen.

She looked at him, at his side view and marveled at his beauty, he has a shiny blonde hair and crystal blue eyes, his lips are thin and pinkish, so attracting to kiss and he has two or three hairs in his chin, a fine long face, a beautiful set of teeth that seems to brighten the night when he smiles. His chest is muscular, well that will add up with his games and extra visits to the gym.

Anna couldn't believe how he happens to have all those quality, all though she is a beauty too with her dark brown hair and transparent brown eyes, her lips were fuller than his especially her lower lip, that is a dark shade of red, that is so inviting for a kiss, she took after their father in her hair and eyes while Jason their mother.

"Well, it's about a boy who fell in love with his sister" she said and Jason looked at her immediately with humor in his eyes.

"Now that's interesting" he smiled "how did it end?" He asked so keen to hear the story.

"Well, he later confessed to her only to find out that the sister loves him too. They started dating secretly until one day, their parents found out and punished them, they separated them by sending him to go live with his uncle in Austria while she remained with them. They didn't see each other again until they were married and their parent's still didn't let them to be that close for fear that they may start again with their feelings. Later on the feelings died off and they both ended up falling in love with their spouse."

Jason sighed and remained silent for some minutes "now that's a very touching story" he commented, he looked pained almost like he felt sorry for the siblings.

Anna sighed and marveled at herself at how good she was in making up story, she has a feeling that, that will be their fate should they be together and their parents find out, that's if he loves her back. They have an uncle in Austria and she figures sending one of then away will be the best option their parents will take and she can't bear not seeing him or being with him even if it's in this little way she can, she knows her love is forbidden and that's why she is going to bury it deep in her heart. 

A horn sounded and she look up to see their mom's car, Jason walked up to the car immediately and got in. Anna was surprised, he never gets in without making her go first with a 'ladies first'. She got in the backseat and stared at him through the side mirror, his face was pale and he look a little sad, she wonders if it was still because of the story she told him.

Jason has a soft heart, she knows that, everybody's does. Things affect him easily and she regretted telling him that story for he has lost his fun spirit because of that.

"Something happen?" Veronica asked with her eyes on the road. Jason mumbled something unintelligent and waved her off. She looked at Anna at the back through the rear mirror and she shrugged.

"Nothing. Mom, can I go with Jason to a party? Megan his class mate is throwing a party and she invited me."

Veronica glanced briefly at Jason, his face was wrapped in a frown and she wondered why, it's hard to see him in that shape "it's something bothering you?"

He shrugged "just a story Anna told me" he whispered softly.

"What's in the story?"

"Just some love that can't be developed, nothing much."

"I see" she sighed "and you are affected by it?"

"A little bit."

Veronica smiled "is it a true life story?"

"No" Anna answered.

"Well, it's just a story then, you shouldn't let it bother you. I don't know why you are still the way you are since you were a child. You let things from a movie and your bed time story affect you, well guess what? You are no more five years, you are eighteen, you should be able to differentiate between fiction and reality. A person just wake up one morning and write a story for entertainment, you feel bad for the characters at the moment but not to let it affect your day, hmm. I know you are soft at heart but it's just a story, okay?" She ruffled his hair and took her hand back to the steering before offering him a smile.

Jason smiled too and nodded "it's just a story."

"Yea" Veronica grinned "so, about this party of a thing."

"Yes mom, let Anna come with me, I promise to take care of her."

Veronica smiled and offered him a side glance "I know you will take care of her, you have always been but you must promise me she mustn't touch anything alcohol let to talk of tasting it."

"Yes mom, I promise."

"And you must be back before ten thirty."

"Mom!" Jason called and she smiled.

"Fine, eleven, and that's because of you"

"Thanks" he smiled.

Anna watched as they both forgot her at the back and discussed how her evening will be. Well, there is no way she is going to go to a party without drinking, she will just plead with him not tell her and he won't. It's not the first time she had been denied to drink and she always do without her knowing and Jason also won't tell. 

She looked at him from the mirror and their eyes met, he smiled at her as their eyes told secrets that their mom will never know. She looked away shyly as she tried to hide her love from her eyes. If only...if he only he knows it was not just a story but a reality and happening to her, will he feel bad and pity for her or will he think she is crazy? Or will he tell her he loves her too? There is no day she doesn't get I love you from him but will they ever be a time she will hear it more intimately from him?

The rest of the ride was in silence as she drowned in her thought. They got home and she left the car straight to her room, she knows Jason will not let their mother disturb her rather he will do what is required of her, just when will he know that it is his too much care and love and protection that put her in this mess? She fell on her bed with her face buried in her pillow, thinking of what she will do to save herself from her mess.
