Seriously, maybe he was right.

Lucas Harrison thought he had this much power over her. He could trample on her as he wished, and still rub it on her face.

Heidi took in a deep breath. Bottling up her anger, she broke out of Lucas's captive gaze and leaned towards the man beside her.

“Forgive me for what I'll do next,” she whispered into Steve's ear. “Lucas Harrison needs to be taught a lesson.”

With that said, Heidi rose to her feet and lowered herself onto Steve's chair's armrest, spreading her arm across his shoulders.

If one didn't look carefully, one would think she was sitting on his lap.

Kate and Isla gasped, clearly taken aback by Heidi's sudden display of brazenness.

“Way to go, Girl!” Kate gave her a thumbs-up. “Don't give the cheating couple the satisfaction they want.”

Steve laughed in amusement. “I thought you were a shy and docile kitten.”

“A shy kitten turns ferocious when the enemy doesn't stop biting.” Heidi smiled. “Sorry to take advantage of you, Steve.”

Inside The Restaurant… Tracy held onto Lucas's arm with all her might, as if afraid that Lucas would chase after Heidi. She'd be a fool if she didn't admit that she knew what was going on. That filthy girl. She sure knew ways to keep Lucas chasing after her. If Tracy didn't make Heidi disappear for good, how would she finally have peace of mind? She gritted her teeth so hard that her jaws ached. Ignoring her stained dress, Tracy tried to coax the enraged man. “Let's finish our food, Honey. I- We- Let's just forget about them” “I'm not eating anymore.” Lucas's gaze remained glued to the entrance, his blood boiling inside. “Alright then, if you won't eat the food, I'm sure the wine will calm you down-” “I said I'm not eating!” His voice startled her. Tracy's eyes were wide with shock. Her whole body shook inside from his sudden harsh tone. Holding her forehead, she staggered. Lucas quickly caught her before she fell down. “What's wrong? Are you alright?” His tone returne

Zach's comment caught Kate's attention. Looking up, a sense of familiarity came to her. Without needing to ask who he was, she said, “Let me guess, you're Zach Olsen.”Zach was greatly touched. He let out a laugh and walked over, holding his chest. “Interesting, you even know my name. Are you perhaps one of my ardent fans? Tell me, Beauty. If you're not a model, you must be a supermodel. Seems like I've admired this angelic face on the screen before.”Even though she was sitting, one couldn't deny that she was tall. Her striking features had the tendency to be ingrained in one's mind. That was probably why Zach had no difficulties in remembering that he'd once seen her on the TV.“Unfortunately, I'm not one of your female fans.” Kate squared her shoulders, lifting her chin. “Who doesn't know the notorious Zach Olsen whole loves showering money on ladies?”“Haha, what can I say? The ladies love to be taken care of. You're not an exception, are you?” Zach sat beside her, and whispered

As Grandpa Winston couldn't see the news on the tablets properly, and his glasses were not near, Butler Luke cleared his throat and explained.“Master, I will first tell you the good news. The Young Master's engagement with Ms. Carlson has been announced.”“Whereas, the bad news is; The Young Master traveled to GreyHills for a business trip. However, the former- I mean, the Young Miss was coincidentally there. Remember you ordered me to keep an eye on any scandal about the Young Master.”“Go to the point!” Grandpa Winston was dying of anticipation. “What is the bad news that involves my grandson and granddaughter-in-law?”Butler Luke sighed. “I was notified by one of the media agencies. They sold the scandal to me at a very high price, otherwise, they would have published it. At a restaurant in GreyHills City, the Young Master made a scene because the Young Miss was with a different guy.”Grandpa Winston pondered for a few seconds. “Well, that is good news.” He looked up. “The first n

The employees were in a frenzy, most of them shaking in fear of what the woman was about to do.“Madam, please calm down,” Heidi called out to her. “Killing yourself will only worsen matters. We are doing our best to find your husband.”“It's a lie!” The woman yelled. “You are doing nothing. Aren't you also a worker in this company? You're all a bunch of hypocrites! There must be a reason why you decided to shut my husband up by getting rid of him. He knows all your dirty secrets, which you don't want the people to know.”Heidi's eyes darted across the wide area. Phone cameras were up, and the employees watched with bated breaths.“Ms. Olsen, you said before that the finance department's manager's wife was trying to play a game, It doesn't seem so, I guess,” Isla said in a crestfallen tone, sympathizing with the woman.“Don't conclude yet, Isla,” Heidi’s narrowed eyes were fixed on the middle-aged woman. “Something fishy is going on.”The woman's cries filled the whole area, and she

…At Another End of the City.A black car was racing down the city, bypassing all the traffic rules, and more than once, almost causing a head-on collision.Lucas sat in the backseat of the car, tapping his feet on the ground impatiently. “I told you to drive faster!”“Mr. Harrison, this is the highest speed limit! Fortunately, the authorities recognize your car, otherwise, we would have been bumped on all sides by the police by now.” Sweats poured down the driver's face. “Don't worry, we will reach the mansion soon.”“Please calm down, Lucas.” Tracy squeezed his hand gently. “Grandpa has to be alright. I'm sure the Doctor will work hard to revive him.”Lucas stared out of the car's window, his impatience to reach the mansion on time evident on his face. He left the car as soon as they got to the mansion before it even came to a complete stop. Rushing inside Grandpa Winston's quarters, he found the Butler pacing back and forth in front of the bedroom upstairs.“What happened to Gran

Considering the brand's current condition, and Kate's career level, we'll have a testing period. Of course, not to underestimate Kate's abilities, but to see if the brand can impact your success in a positive way.”“That's a great way of thinking.” Kate went through the contract briefly. “While other brands are always after prolonging my contract duration with them, you shortened it so that if something goes wrong, I won't be implicated.”Even Kate's manager was pleased with Heidi's decision. “No one would have come up with this splendid plan. You lived up to your promise of avoiding all the necessary risks.”“Kate worked hard to be in this position.” Heidi smiled. “Of course, I won't extort her. This is a fair deal, Suzie. Heidi sprang to a sitting position instantly, hearing the voice coming from the door. Dread washed over, and instinctively, she pulled her baby into her arms, her eyes darting around for any possible escape route. Heidi's first instinct was to flee, but to where?“Daddy?” Her daughter, on the other hand, jumped in excitement. “Hey, Mommy! It's Daddy! Daddy's here!”The door's handle shifted as someone juggled it from the outside. The sounds of knocking increased. “Heidi, are you inside?”Lost at what to do, Heidi just stared at the door, hugging her baby. Lucas barged into the room as he kicked the door open. He came to a screeching halt right in front of her, almost colliding into the bed. “Heidi…” as he whispered her name, Heidi's eyes locked into his. Except for the subtle changes; his once dark eyes now crystal clear, his stubbled jaws and overall demeanor, everything about him was the same. Tears pricked at her eyes and her heart hurt tremendously, wondering how she'd been a

All eyes turned to Harold, some blinking in shock and the rest widening. Heidi was confused too that of all people, Harold Olsen was the one who believed her.But from the look of guilt on his face and the way he sank onto the floor, literally kneeling in front of her, something was definitely fishy. “Heidi, please forgive me.”Heidi flinched when he held her knees. She stared at him, frowning. “Forgive you for what, Uncle?”“What did you do Dad!?” Zach hollered, his eyes filled with horror. The others looked fearful as well.Hanging his head, Harold shook it slowly. “I know saying this is probably too late. That night, Heidi didn't lose her child. When the police found her and Natalie, I orchestrated everything that happened after.”Several gasps spread across the room.Avoiding everyone's gaze, Harold said in a melancholic tone. “Having Heidi and Lucas Harrison together at that time meant the end of my sovereignty in this family. I did that to strip Heidi of her position- and…” He

All eyes snapped in Heidi's direction. As her sobs echoed in the living room, they all but sprang to their feet. “Ha! How many times have I told you guys to stop mentioning Heidi's name?” Lilian cried out. “Now I'm seeing Heidi's face instead of this lady who appeared from nowhere with a child!”“Are you seeing Heidi? I'm also seeing her!” Natalie gasped. “That's impossible, right?”“Unless we're all out of our minds!” Kate cackled. “Because we all might be seeing Heidi.”Lifting her head, Heidi glanced at everyone's face. Her gaze stopped at her mother whose expression was deadly pale. “Th- This- This isn't Heidi. My Heidi's dead!”Shaking her head, the woman staggered backward. “Who the hell summoned Heidi's ghost?”Her mother fainted immediately after saying that, and the whole room was thrown into chaos. Heidi shot to her feet, holding her baby tight, racing to the spot. Under the family's watchful gazes, she sat beside her mother, shaking her. “Mum! I'm not a ghost! I've come

~During the car ride, Heidi's mind was muddled with different kinds of thoughts that brought worry to her heart. Her only solace was the little girl sitting beside her, holding her hand. “You're so quiet, Mommy…” she asked, “Is everything alright?”Heidi smiled, parting her hair to the side. “I'm okay, Baby.”“Where are we headed?” She murmured, glancing out of the car's window. “You brought me back, Mommy. Are you gonna drop me off at Nanny's place and disappear again.”Smoothing the tiny frown on the girl's forehead, Heidi's heart ached as she kept repeating that word. Disappearing hadn't be easy, and appearing again would definitely incure many repercussions. Heidi picked her up and sat her on her lap, hugging her. “I'd rather die than to disappear again.”Here she was, loathing death, something she'd actually been craving for the past three years. Her heart was an ocean of emotions and her tears never dried up, so much that her eyes were hurting. “Please, Mommy, stop crying

“For the first time, I'm agreeing with Jason's words.” Freya nodded. “Let's return her to the poor man, Heidi. We'll stay in this paradise forever.”“Don't mind them, I won't let you go.” Heidi patted her hair. She stared at Jason and Freya, communicating with her eyes. The two gave her crestfallen looks and sighed at the same time. That Night;Heidi rested on her bed, holding the baby close, and sniffing the familiar scent on her. Citrus mixed with lavender. The scent of the Harrisons Villa. A scent that only belonged to the man she loved. Whenever she thought of him in the past, she'd feel hate and remorse, but now… the thought of him brought fear to her heart, and a regret she couldn't deny. Beside her, the little girl shifted. She opened her sleepy eyes, her wide milky eyes blinking. “Why aren't you sleeping, Mommy?”“I just love staring at you.” H

From caressing the girl's hair, Heidi found herself drawing her close, wrapping her in a gentle embrace. “What's your name?” Uncertainty filling her heart, she asked in a hoarse voice. The little girl neither struggled nor made a sound of discomfort, she in fact snuggled deeper into Heidi's embrace. She murmured, “Nanny calls me Didi, but Daddy calls me Heidi.”Heidi shut her eyes, swallowing down a sudden lump in her throat. A soft laughter escaped her lips. “That's a beautiful name you have, Baby.”However, the little girl pulled away, furrowing her brows. “But my first Mommy dislikes it. She once argued with Daddy about it.”“Oh, is that so?” Sniffing back the tears threatening to burst out, Heidi forced a smile. “Why doesn't she like your name?”“Because she's a meanie. Too bad none of us can be in charge.”Under the pretense of working for the AG Group and managing the resorts here, Jason had moved to the mystic Island to be with her. One coincidence led to the guy clinging onto her.Driven by curiosity, he'd wandered into this cabin on a particular day, which was rumored to be haunted, and that was how he found her and Freya.
