289. Leaving Her Like An Abandoned Child

Heidi looked from him to the outline of his phone inside his pants pocket.

Lucas was acting strange. If it wasn't something that concerned her, why would he hide it from her?

“Have you heard from Freya?”

It must be the thousandth time Heidi had asked that question today. Yet, the man gave her the same reply.

“Not yet. As a spy, Freya has to act unnoticed.”

Heidi rubbed her forehead tiredly. “Come on, when will this end?”

“Don't worry, I'll speak with her Boss.” Lucas patted her hair, reassuring her.

Heidi let out a sigh.

After they finished eating, he carefully helped her to her feet.

“Hey, stop treating me like a retard. I can walk by myself!”

She slapped his hand away and grabbed her bag from the table.

Lucas followed closely behind as if he feared she would suddenly fall. “Be careful.”

Heidi's irritation grew.

“Do you want me to carry you?”

Heidi didn't answer him. She brought out a mirror from her bag and checked out her makeup. “No, I look ugly. Why are my cheeks getting puffy?”
