CHAPTER 5

King Tyson's Pov

I walk to my hotel room with joy on my face. The thought of what happened last night was very fresh in my mind. Who could have thought I'd find her here in this small town? She is very beautiful. I could see myself getting lost in her eyes. My mate. It's not every day we meet our other half. The one destined for us by the Moon Goddess. I had to hasten up my meeting this morning because I wanted to spend time getting to know her. I was so shocked and entranced by her beauty I forgot to ask her name. Shit! What could she be thinking of me? I increased my pace and got to my room.

I opened the door and walked in. The room was too quiet, I mused. I walked towards the balcony in search of her but she was not there. I checked the bathroom and still couldn't find anyone. I sniffed the air and her scent was still in the room but faint.

"Dean," I yell, calling my Beta.

"Your Majesty," he answered, coming inside the room immediately.

"Where's the young lady I came back with last night?" I ask him. He raises his head and quickly scans the room.

"There were guards placed in every corner of the hotel. She could not have gone far. Let me go look for her," he says quickly. My wolf is already on edge due to not seeing his mate. My eyes were glowing and I was getting angry.

"You will find her and bring her back," I commanded. I expected him to know these things as my Beta.

I don't normally bring ladies to my bed. The few times I did, it was with a friend of mine and we were dating. I hope she hasn't gone far.

"Yes, Your Majesty," he replied and walked out. I took out my phone and called my PA.

"Cancel my meetings for today," I tell her. I won't be able to focus with my mate on the run.

"But Your Majesty you have a meeting with 3 Alphas by four pm. Should I still go ahead and cancel it?" She asks. Fuck! I couldn't cancel it because it was very important.

"No, don't. I'll be there. Send units 2 and 3 to Dean right now," I tell her and end the call. I pace around in the room. Hopefully, they'll see her, I tell myself.

A few hours later, there's a knock on my door and Dean comes in.

"Were you able to find her?" I ask him.

"No Your Majesty," he answers with his head bent. I stare at him. I didn't want to believe I let her slip through my fingers. I poured myself a glass of whiskey and took a big sip. You fucked up big time my wolf tells me looking sad. I didn't even ask for her name. That would have made the whole search easier.

"Did you go to the club?' I ask clinging for some hope.

"Yes, Your Majesty but they refused to cooperate with us. They have a rule of not snitching on their customers. Especially those in VIP," he tells me. I stand up and pick my suit.

"Let's go," I tell him. I had a meeting in less than 30 minutes and needed a distraction. We walk to the elevator and enter inside.

The meeting would be taking place in the conference room in the hotel so I didn't need to go out. I could still feel her scent on me. My beautiful mate. I had a feeling she lives in this town. But with no name or picture, it'll be hard to find her. That is unless the club agrees to work with me. I heard the owner is not a werewolf which makes things more complicated. He won't submit to me easily. I'll find her, I promise myself.

We come out of the elevator and walk towards the conference room. The glass door is opened from the inside as soon as I get to the door. The 3 Alphas were already present when I walked in. Very good I thought. They honored my invitation and came for the meeting.

"Thank you all for honoring my invitation," I said to them as I walked in. They stood up as I spoke.

"We're honored to be here, Your Majesty," the only one to my right said. I walk to the end of the table and sit down.

"My name is Alpha Alden, Your Majesty. This is Alpha Jace and Alpha Zach," one of them said pointing at the others. He was a good-looking man in his Mid-Fifties. I observed the other two men. The younger-looking one is called Alpha Zach. He's a handsome young man. Alpha Jace looked somewhere around my age. They were all looking smart.

"Please have your seat," I tell them. They sat down but were not at ease.

"I've been getting reports on rogue wolves trespassing and hurting humans in the city. What happened?" I ask going straight into business. Being the King of all werewolves in the country was not an easy job. I have my pack and still have to help other Alphas when there's a problem in their pack.

"It's been going on for some time now. We've been trying to trace them but it's impossible. The attacks have been random too," Alpha Jace said.

"Well I was able to capture one of them last week," Alpha Zach said. "It seems they have someone leading them behind the curtains," he continues.

"A leader? If they truly have a leader then it'll be more complicated than I thought," I say.

Rouge wolves running around hurting people was a big issue. The humans that were able to survive the bite get infected. The process is usually slow but they end up becoming werewolves and not all survive the process. Which was why we prohibited wolves from biting humans unless it was their mate.

"It's unheard of. Rogue wolves don't usually submit to a higher authority. How can there be a leader amongst them?" Alpha Alden says. He was the eldest and looked like someone who had more experience in life.

"I heard there's an underground fight going on every weekend. I have planted two of my wolves there but they haven't been able to gain access," Alpha Zach says frowning.

"True, I also tried to gain access to the underground fights but was denied. It seems the owners of the rings are very smart and are taking precautions," Alpha Alden said. I hate underground fights. That's where all sorts of things happen.

"My source told me some humans are also pushed to fight in the rings. Some even sign contracts to be bitten so they can become stronger," Alpha Jace said. I listen to their complaints and think heavily.

"Alpha Jace, are you trying to say the rogue wolves hurting people could be those humans that were bitten?" I ask him. It'd make much more sense if that were true.

"I dare not assume Your Majesty. But I'm sure some of those rogue wolves partake in the fights," he said. "Just like Alpha Zach had said, they might have a leader giving them orders. Although the attacks are random they mostly target young men and women," he says.

"I've given my wolves order. They're guarding my pack land. Some are also protecting the humans close by. The wolf we captured is still alive, Your Majesty. I could take you there if you're not in a hurry," Alpha Zach said. It seems Alpha Zach is very efficient and reliable.

I caught the faint smell of my mate and immediately stand up. They all stood up too confused. I walk out of the meeting room and scan the hallway very quickly. It was empty aside from my guards standing there.

"What happened Your Majesty?" One of them asked. I was already distracted and couldn't answer them.

"I'll send reinforcement if you need it," I said, turning towards them. "I'll also investigate the attacks and come up with a solution. For now, I need every piece of information you've gotten about the attacks. Send a report if possible," I say quickly to them. I could tell they wanted to say more but now was not the right time. My mate is somewhere around and I need to get to her before she slips through my fingers. They said goodbye and started leaving. As soon as Alpha Zach walked in front of me I caught a whiff of her smell again.

I quickly grabbed his hands, stopping his movement. I growled quietly and looked at him.

"Your Majesty," he calls me surprised.

"Why is her scent on you?" I ask him.

"I don't understand," he replies. I let go of his hands and looked at him closely.

"Are you mated?" I ask.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Alpha Alden's daughter is my mate," he answered me. I nod my head and allow him to go.

"Dean" I called the attention of my Beta.

"I want you to bring me an artist. I need to find her," I tell him.

"Okay Your Majesty," he answers. "We should start going now, Your Majesty. The car is waiting downstairs," he says. I nod my head and walk to the elevator.
