Third person's POV
After paying his punched items on the counter, Conrad walks to where his car was parked.
He put his purchased items at the back seat and was about to jump into the driver's seat when his eyes catch the familiar figure walking across the street.
Just by looking at her, he's lips curved into a mischievous smile. Looks like she's having the best time of her life. Eating ice cream while there's few shopping bags on both of her arms.
Ahh. What else will he should be expecting from this kind of woman?
She must be happy right now, spending money for nonsense things. He had a wild guess that she's buying those 'girly' things.
He shook his head. Furthermore, he shouldn't be bothered about her. It's her expense anyway.
He doesn't really notice how long it had been, he's standing by, looking at her. His eyes were only focused on her. He can't stop himself not to familiarize her every movement. The way she walks and the way her hair sways by the wind. The way her head used to turn in every corner, checking everything she sees.
'You are now quite enjoying the view.' A part of him just hit him in his reality.
He took a deep breath before he decides to get into his car. It's already six o'clock, so he better go home now.
When he started the engine, he looks across the street once again and see her standing by the roadside already.
Looks like she's going home too.
------
“Hello?” Siren answered her phone when she saw the words 'Handsome beast' on the screen.
“Going home?” His deep voice never fails to give her heart the sense of restlessness even once.
“Yeah, why?” Trying to give her calmest voice, she answered.
“I'm just across the street. Inside my car.”
She looks at the direction he mentioned and saw the familiar car parked by the roadside.
“Ah okay.” She says. Was he going to take her home too?
“Want to go home with me?”
“Uhm, it's okay. You can go home. I can manage to get a taxi. “
“Taxi?”
“Yeah.”
“Come to my car.”
“No, it's okay, really.”
“I said, come to my car. “ Then he hanged up.
A few horns inform her that he's waiting.
Without any complaints, she follows what he said. She crosses the road and draw near to his car.
He opened the door inside.
“Put your things at the back.”
She follows.
He pointed his arms to the passenger seat.
“Seatbelt.”
She follows.
As long she put on her seatbelt, he drove the car like it's an emergency.
But it doesn't bother her.
Mr. Cervantes back in the mansion used to be her driver for how many years, was also driving like a madman. But he's the best. Over the years, he manages to avoid any accidents and always keeping her safe during the trip.
“What did you do there?” Conrad tries to break the silence.
“Shopping.” She was looking outside the window. Making her feel busy with the views.
“That's nice.” He said.
Having her heart pounding for no good reason, she kept herself from talking. He might hear her stutter due to what she was feeling now.
Few minutes later, they are already entering the garage.
No car on the space and she noticed that the house was also dark inside, indicating there's no one at home.
After she unbuckles her seat belt, she hurriedly got out of the car, took her things off from the backseat then run towards the door.
She felt it would be better not to be near him again. It feels like he could be her death,, and it's not pretty good.
---------
Conrad couldn't do anything but to follow his stare on Reena's back as she was about to run, entering the door.
He suppressed his smile as she looks so weird because of her actions. Is she thinking he will bite her or something?
He took his things from the back seat before heading inside. Walk straight up to the stairs to his room.
He just put his purchased things on the floor before changing his clothes to his casual outfit. Got out from his room again and headed to the kitchen.
A few steps from the kitchen door, he heard the sound of the working coffee maker. And just like seducing him more, he smelled the aroma of coffee in the air.
He continued walking.
“One coffee for me, please.”
Hearing his voice, Reena almost dropped the cup she was holding. Fortunately, it's still empty.
Without a word, she looked at him like he was the most disgusting thing on Earth.
And because he wanted to annoy it, he gave her a smug look.
“That cup that you are about to drop costs more than your monthly salary.” But her reaction to it was different from what he expected. She just smirks and give him a dry look.
Of course, he was lying about the cup's price, but he just wanted to see if he could fool her with that.
“Do you really have to lie on my face?” She asked.
His formed into a fake smile. How could this woman tell his just bluffing? He must admit, he felt defeated, but no way he would give her the satisfaction.
“Why don't you try to drop it and let's see if what will be Mom's reaction if she knew about it?”
She gave him an empty laugh as an answer. Making his blood boils at its peak. Did she just mock him right now?!
“Why would I drop it off?” She then smiled sourly at him.
He couldn't say anything to piss her off. And it makes him more annoyed.
“Do you think I'm just lying about it? Do you think I'm fooling you around?” He was pissed. He was cool earlier,, but it turns the other way around.
“Do you think I'll be easy to fool around too?” She raised an eyebrow. She's so cocky and he hates it.
He took a sigh and calms himself. He shouldn't act like a madman just because a woman was against his wittiness. Likewise, he won't allow himself to go down her level. Hell no.
“Alright, it's just fine. I'll forget this moment, and I'll just think that we don't see each other now.” He gave her a smug look.
But she just looked at him like his an idiot before smirking.
Without anything to say, he sat in one of the high stool against the counter. He stares at her every move.
She also zipped her mouth and avoid speaking at him again.
Cautiously, she pours the newly boiled coffee mixture into the cup she was holding earlier. Place the cup into its saucer and stir the coffee afterwards.
He could say she wasn't that expert by the way she works into it,, but he knows that she was making it to her very perfection.
He looks at her when she stopped stirring. Her gaze meets his. Then she smiled. The kind of smile that reaches her eyes.
She places the coffee in front of him.
“Here.”
“The last coffee you bring to me was--”
“This is not the same coffee.” She cuts him off.
Having doubt, he gave her the should-I-trust-you? Kind of look before he took a sip.
“Ahh!” He put down the cup as fast as he can. He could feel the burning sensation on his lips.
“You really don't know how to drink coffee, do you?”
“You didn't tell me it's still hot!” He exclaimed.
“Oh, now you're blaming me?” She sarcastically pointed herself. “Didn't you see I just poured it?”
Conrad gave her a deadly glare,, but she just shrugged her shoulders with a coyly smile and a wink.
"Witch!"
"Beast!"
Thirds person's POVConrad gave her a deadly glare, but she just shrugged her shoulders with a coyly smile and a wink.“Witch!”“Beast!”..... Her stomach was growling like a mad lion for almost an hour, yet she doesn't know what to do.Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to cook but even though she knows, she still didn't want to go to the kitchen. Afraid that she would bump in to Conrad again. That man is really something. He knows really well how to piss her off. He's always looking for a chance to bug her, and it's really stressing her out. After covering herself with the blanket, she was really decided to sleep. But a few knocks from the door make her more awake than earlier.“Who's that?” She said with a loud voice.“Open the door. I going to ask you something. “ It's that irritating Conrad guy again.
SIREN'S POVI was hardly breathing trying to stand straight while looking at him directly in his eyes.I've been complaining about the cold breeze earlier, but it feels like someone had turned the atmosphere into higher temperature.Of all chances I could have thought, I never have any hint in mind that Conrad will going to show up here and kiss me!That kiss that made me restless a few nights ago.I couldn't say anything now. I feel worst. I want to ask why he kissed me. Not only that, but I want to know his reasons. It's so confusing that I wanted to cry.“I'm sorry. “ It almost sounds like a whisper. I couldn't feel any sincerity from his words. Sorry for what? For kissing me? For making me confused? For fooling me around? Didn't he realize he shouldn't be kissing someone and just tell he's sorry without explaining his behavior?I'm so damn confused!“W…why?” I utter.&
SIREN'S POV“Yeah, Black Diamond Hotel.” Conrad smiled, not even noticing what he says had made me anxious.Of all places in the world, why it has to be the Hotel that Mendez family owned?“Why?” It almost sounds like a whisper.“What 'why'?” He furrowed his brows.“I… I mean, why that hotel? There are many hotels in the country. Why it has to be the BD Hotel?” I tried not to stutter. I have to keep calm. Of course, there's Black Diamond Hotel in every state of the country. That hotel chain is quite a big name everywhere, and only people who can afford its price can be accommodated.'Come on, it's not like you have got to be bumping into familiar faces who know you in that place.' I said to myself as to rest assured.I know that not of all m
The man quickly take a good look on her to be sure if she's alright."I'm... Actually good." Siren forced herself to stand straight even if her butt was hurt. Also the tingling pain on her scalp makes her want to moan.Kent Calvis who is struggling to get up received another kick, but this time it's in his face.Upon seeing the man's action, Siren yelp. "Please, stop!"There's blood all over Kent's face and already swollen."Go run for your life now!" The man roared to the poor Calvis.Bearing his obvious pain, the latter makes his way out."Are you alright?" The stranger asked her again after Calvis disappears."Yeah, I'm fine." Giving him a small smile as being grateful for his help."Next time you better be careful dealing with jerks. That guy didn't hesitate to hurt you. What if I came later than earlier?" He seemed to
Third person's POVIt's Saturday again and she's gonna have her weekly day-off. She plans to roam around the town to refresh her mind from what happen the last few days. Not having any plans to buy anything, she decided to have some ice cream from the shop she had before. Walk a little afterwards. Mind is still occupied. That incident from the hotel makes her realize that she can't hide anymore. It's been months and she's living just fine. Being with people who are treating her well, not minding about her status in life, and the best thing is, she has been showered by Conrad's affection. Even though they are not committed to each other, he still makes her feel like she's a special person to him.She could say she likes him. And the feeling is growing day by day."Penny for your thought?" A voice from behind her interrupt her thoughts.
Siren couldn't do anything but to stare at the man's back. She was in between of fear and fond of the moment. She must admit that she felt a different kind of fear when Felix appeared earlier. It's a fear she haven't feel from anyone. And she hates it. She hates the man so much. And the way he acts earlier shows something odd. It sounds like he would cause trouble. Not just because he literally drags her, but a lot more deeper. Conrad's POVBeing tired for today's works, I never wanted anything as much as I wanted to have a cold shower right now. It's what I've been thinking about since leaving the office after work. When my car entered the garage, I saw Reena watering the plants that mom bought from the Greenhouse Garden back in town. She purchases different kinds of roses and any other flowers that I am not familiar wit
Conrad's POV After dinner, I go straight to the study room to finish some paperwork needed for the meeting tomorrow. I was really engrossed doing revisions of my report when someone entered the room. "Hi." Reena's smiling face was there when I lift my head. "Hey ..." I waved her to come near me. She quickly step forward and opened her arms. I lead her to sit on my lap. "Busy?" She plant small kisses on my face. "Uhm, not really. Just finishing this papers." I cupped her face and gave her a quick passionate kiss. "I saw you this afternoon." I thought about mentioning her absent-minded self earlier and asked the reason why. "Problem?" "Really? Where?" She looks confused. "In the garden. You are absent-mindedly watering the plants." I put those loose strands of her hair at the back of
Siren gradually felt annoyed at the man in front of her. He seemed very serious about blocking her way.Based on the man’s appearance, it looks like he’ll need to introduce herself here. She had no intention of introducing herself to any employee of the company, but it looked like she had to do that because she wanted to meet Felix at this time. She crossed her arms above her chest, glancing at the ID taped to the chest pocket of his polo shirt."John Cowell." She reads clearly. The man gave her a foolish look as if he was too proud of himself. "I hope that the look on your face now won't give you disaster later."Siren decided to get her driver’s license to represent her identity. But the man just raised an eyebrow while looking at the card."However, you are not allowed to enter the
A smile was wiped from Madison's lips as she saw the familiar vehicle in the villa's garage. When her car was parked, she immediately got out to confirm her suspicion. When she entered the house, she was a little surprised that there was no Mrs. Carlson to greet her. She looks so confused as she finally entered the household. "Where have you been?"She almost jumped when suddenly a loud voice spoke. Only to find out that the man who just asked her were standing on the stairs. Seriously looking at her. "Arthur?" She almost stuttered. What is Arthur doing here? "I'm asking you. Where did you come from?" He asked as he started to walk down the stairs. She took a deep breath as she spoke. "I just wander around the corner.""Around the corner?" He repeats when he finally get down and they face each other. "Where's that around the corner?"In Madison's eyes, even though the man looked chill and composed, she knew that was not really what he had in mind. "Do I really have to tell yo
Her heart suddenly skip a single beat without her knowing why. Although still smiling, the confusion on Madison's face was obvious as she turned to the man. "Leaving?" She repeats. "Just a moment and the sun will go down, we can leave later."Conrad smiled. Smile that she could not understand. "What I mean is, I'm going back home. My vacation is over."Madison was stunned for a moment. She couldn't think of anything to say. She felt awkward because of the moment of silence so she just turned her eyes in another direction. "Good to know." She just said that. "When's your flight?""The day after tomorrow." The man answered. "Ah.""Madison?""Hmm?""Thank you.""What for?""For everything. For accompanying me. For apologies, and for the memories."Even though she wasn't looking at him she knew Conrad was looking at her now. So she suppressed the urge to turn in his direction. She doesn't want to be wrong. "You're welcome." She says. "Madison?""Yes?" She answered before finally tu
Two, three, four to the fifth day. They have toured almost all the tourist spots in Zagreb, the country's capital. They have almost no idea where to go next. Every restaurant, street foods and other pastry shops have been visited and tried by them too. "Where do you want to go now?" Conrad asked her as he drove the car. "I can't think of anything else. I think we've been to every places we can go to." She replied. "Is that all?" He asked with a frown. "Hmm.""How about we get on the yacht? Sailing at sea, then." He suggested. "Yacht?" She asked. "Are you in?" The excitement was painted on his face. "Sure. I think it's better to watch the sunset when you're on a yacht. It's a different feeling when you're in the water than on the ground when you're watching the sunset." Smiling, she said. Her eyes were focused ahead so she didn't notice the moment Conrad's gaze turned to her. The man smiled in amazement at what she said. However, he never spoke again. ---***Felix stopped wa
They thought to visit some of the famous museums and restaurants that day. Madison noticed that as long as they were together and talking, she also got to know the man in a way he didn’t intentionally show. The day passed without her being aware of it. Somehow, it also makes sense to talk to the man. He's also easy to get along with though he loves to spill some daddy jokes everytime. And true to his words, all expenses including her daily wage are the all charged to him. "Why don't you want me to take you home?" Conrad asked as he stopped the car on the side of the road. "It's also a waste of the fare if you have to ride home.""Nevermind. My house is just around the corner." She refused as she got out of the car. "Are you sure?"She rolled her eyes. "Yes.""Okay. Just be careful going home. Call me when you're home." He ordered that makes her raised an eyebrow. She grinned at him. "Do I have to tell you if I'm home or not?" She asked. The man smiled as he scratched his forehe
‘My wife is going to give birth that day. The baby she will give birth to is a pre-mature baby so she has to be taken to a bigger hospital. We were on the road when we suddenly heard a series of gunshots so in fear I stopped my pick-up truck on the curve and thinking about turning back. But I saw that Margarita was bleeding. I was afraid that something worse would happen to my wife and my son so I carefully thinking what to do first. When I was sure the gunshots were gone, I went back. A few meters away on the curve, I saw a car. Black and looks expensive. But the windshields are all destroyed. I did not catch up with the culprits, but I saw a woman lying on the ground. A few meters from the car. Fearing that we will get into trouble, I planned to leave the woman alone. But I felt sorry for her. I thought we would go to the hospital too, so I decided to go back and take her with us to the hospital. ' Peter narrate the whole thing. 'When we got to the hospital, I first took my wife
Mrs. Carlson slowly opened the door of the room. The woman sleeping in the bed reflected in the dark surroundings. Its deep breathing was listened to carefully in silence. He knew the woman was sound asleep. Probably tired of what was done wherever it went before. He has also been late for Madison's outing for a few nights. He knows it’s careful in action so he doesn’t matter but what it doesn’t know is that he sees its every move. She just waits long enough to let Arthur know everything is going on. He closed the door again and then silently went to the kitchen. He took the jar containing the sugar from the pantry and then pulled a small bottle out of his pocket. He mixed the white powder with the sugar and then shook the meat to make it thicker. He then covered it and returned it to the pantry. He also put away the small bottle and then threw it in the trash. He left the kitchen and then went to his own room to continue sleeping. ***'Let's meet this afternoon at three o'cloc
...Conrad just sighed because of what the woman said. He wanted to answer what she said but he knew to himself that he needed to lengthen the cord of his patience a little. After all, what shee said was true because he was in arrears. So even with the taste of the woman's anger, he still restrained himself. He would not allow the opportunity he had waited for so many hours to be lost because of her words. "Hey ..." He chased to block her path. "What is it that you want?" Glaring, she says. "If you don't leave me alone, I will call the cops and I will say you are harassing me." She even threatened him. "What?" He was stunned. "And why would I be harassing you? You're not my type and you're not that pretty either." He says. "Then, why are you following me? What do you need?" She placed her hands on the both side of her waist in front of him. "Let me tell you, I don't have time to fool around right now. So you better leave me alo--""I came here to apologize to you." She was cut
Madison went home still enraged by what had happened at the restaurant earlier. She was greeted by the astonished look of Mrs. Carlson but she just ignored her. She immediately went straight to her room and slammed the door shut. But instead of doing anything to release her anger, she just forced herself to calm down. In fact, she was not angry because she was fired, but because the reason was irrational. She could not have imagined that after more than a year of working there, only a man like that would destroy her credibility and reputation of her work. "I hate you!" She shouted remembering the man. In her mind, she had wanted to kill him several times. ***Conrad rolled his eyes inside the bar. He had been going back and forth there for two nights, so the bouncer and the bartender got familiar to him immediately. "Whiskey?" The bartender asked as he sat on the counter stool. "I prefer vodka tonight." He replied. In his mind, he wanted to estimate how much time he would spend
Wearing his casual clothes, a cap and his sunglasses, Jeff came out of the room he was occupying in that hotel. It was three o'clock in the afternoon so he knew the sun was not that hot outside. He had felt hungry earlier but he didn't bother to order from room service because he didn't like the food offered at the hotel restaurant. He took the elevator while wondering what food he could eat outside. When he reached the ground floor, as soon as the opening of the elevator where he was, also the opening of another elevator on the opposite side.Jeff furrowed his brows as he recognized the man exiting the elevator. Although he's not actually facing him, he knew he couldn’t be wrong, it was Conrad Younas. He got stunned for a moment as the flash of Siren's face crossed his mind. The same day when he revealed Conrad Younas’ connection to Siren’s pregnancy, was also the same day when the incident of Diana’s death and Siren’s disappearance occurred. For a moment he wanted to be suspicio
