Upon seeing him again, she would greet him with a smile and call him affectionately.

"Win," she would say.

When he thought about it, his heart stuttered, as though a million ants were marching across it. It made him restless.

Jake rubbed his chin and joked, "I wonder whether Ms. Caldwell and Simon will invite me to their engagement party."

"I didn't even get to go to your wedding when you guys were married! Millie is so pitiful. Not only did you not acknowledge her as your wife, you didn't even hold a banquet in celebration."

Winston felt a mess of emotions. Jake was nagging at him, making him extremely annoyed. Thus, he took his coat and walked out.

Jake only reacted after a moment. "Win, where are you going?" he shouted.

Winston didn't reply to his question.

When Winston left the bar, Eli was dealing with the news of Millie online.

Eli looked back and asked Winston, "Mr. Greer, how should I handle the news of Ms. Caldwell and Mr. Harrison?"

Winston pulled at his ti

"Thank you so much for today. There was a small hiccup in the middle, so I apologize for any inconvenience!" Millie apologized furiously in front of the Caldwell Villa. Simon reclined on his car and raised a brow casually. He said, "As long as you're happy, none of it matters." Millie smiled, her eyes curving upward. "Thank you!" Simon said, "No problem. Don't let your mood be affected by some unimportant people." She nodded and agreed. "Alright. See you around, Simon." Simon hummed and left in his car. Millie remained standing by the door until Simon's car faded from sight. Only then did she shake her arms out and decide to return home. It was rare to see such a chivalrous and elegant man. It was a shame that she was too horrible. She wasn't good enough for him. Just as Millie was about to go home, a familiar voice rang out behind her, "Millie." His voice was hoarse, but it seemed to carry a heady warmth that burnt a hole in her heart. Milile turned immediately

What was he doing, going on a drunk rampage? Millie pursed her lips and looked at him darkly, "This is my personal life. I have the right not to answer, don't I?" She was about to push him away. However, he pressed her arm onto the wall, preventing her from escaping. "Winston, if you continue doing this, I'm going to call the police!" Millie frowned, her tone firm. "Alright, you can call the police." He looked down at her. Something seemed to burn in his eyes. He hadn't done anything to Millie, not to mention they were still married. He wanted to see how the police would handle this. Millie looked into his eyes. She felt extremely sad. She knew he didn't love her. His continued questioning was only because she was canoodling with other men despite their divorce not being finalized. This fact overstepped his limits and trampled on his manly ego. Millie sniffed. She glanced at Winston with a smile. She said calmly, "Right, I've fallen for Simon." Winston stiffened.

When Millie turned to look, Winston was lying on the floor. His hand was holding his stomach, and his face was pale. He looked extremely unwell. Milie's heart seized. She walked over and kneeled beside him, her face etched with concern. "Winston!" she shouted. However, when she thought of how she and Winston were basically unrelated, she retracted the hand she'd extended. With Eli present, he wouldn't let anything happen to Winston. Millie looked down and shoved down her concern. She got up to leave. Eli shouted hurriedly, "Mrs. Greer!" Milli said tonelessly, "Eli, he must've drank too much wine, which triggered his gastric problems. Send him to the hospital and inform Joanna about his situation." Eli looked at Millie, slightly surprised that those words came from her mouth. In the past, whenever something happened to Winston, Millie would always be the first to appear by his side. As she was about to leave, the man's icy fingers held onto hers. "Mills," he murmure

Their car stopped in front of the door to the emergency ward. Millie helped Winston onto the bed and turned to leave. However, he held onto her fingers with no signs of letting go. She frowned and tried to pry his fingers open, only to realize that he was gripping her tightly. Millie could only sigh and resign herself to accompany him. "Doctor, how is he?" she asked the doctor on duty. The doctor gave a short explanation, "He's alright. He just needs to finish the drip. He'll be fine as long as his stomach isn't further stimulated." As she looked at the man on the bed, disdain flashed across her eyes. She patted Winston's arm and complained softly, "You've never been able to take care of yourself when we were in high school. You're already in your 20s, yet you still act the same. You keep making other people worry about you!" However, Millie sighed when she saw Winston's pale face. Her eyes were filled with concern. Millie reclined by his bed. She crossed her arms and st

Winston opened his eyes and swallowed, breathing heavily. He said, "I…" "Win…" Joanna's voice rang out by the door. Millie pushed Winston away on reflex. She stood up straight and stared at the door. Joanna bit her lip while holding a meal container. She glared at Millie, animosity flashing across her eyes. She took two steps back and said tonelessly, "Don't misunderstand, Joanna. Winston thought that I was you." Take a guess whether she believed Millie's words. Joanna looked at Winston lying on the bed and smiled. "Winston, have I come at a bad time?" she asked. Millie didn't want to trouble herself, so she lied, "His gastric problems flared up. I ran into him coincidentally and brought him over." Joanna stared at them in frustration. She knew Millie was lying to her. She came over without anyone telling her to do so. Wouldn't Millie know why she came? She had someone keeping an eye on Winston at all times! The first person Winston sought out after getting drunk

"Let me take a look at how Snowdrop is doing on the black market?" Millie said. How much had the prices inflated?Marvin hummed and followed her into the information room. The gigantic screen in the room flickered, displaying the discussions of Snowdrop on the black market. There were more than two million threads about Snowdrop with more than two billion reads. This wasn't the main issue. The problem was that the price was also snowballing! The price list in the upper right corner displayed the price of a Snowdrop to be ten billion dollars! Marvin said, "Up till now, no one has gotten Snowdrop." Millie crossed her arms and frowned. "Boss, is the Snowdrop really not with you?" Marvin looked at Millie. Millie refused to reveal the truth. He was unsure of what was going on. She looked at Marvin and raised an eyebrow. "I saw Joanna just now. She said the Snowdrop is with her," she explained. "That's hilarious. No one knows where it is. She got a fake one, didn't she?

Millie took the Snowdrop to the hall. The robot came over and scanned it before exclaiming, "Wow, it's the Snowdrop that the black market has been looking for!" Millie clapped her hands and crossed her arms. The robot asked, "M, where did you get the Snowdrop?" Marvin smiled and replied, "From the rubbish heap waiting for destruction. " The robot seemed stunned. Marvin stared as a bunch of stars appeared on its screen, along with an electrocardiogram. Had it shut down? This was the first time he'd seen a robot shut down in his many years in M Base. Was it okay? The robot restarted itself. A pair of blinking doe eyes appeared on the screen as it said, "I fainted and woke up again! So the Snowdrop is with M!" Marvin didn't know whether to cry or laugh. They'd made a robot shut down with their antics. Marvin asked, "Boss, how are you going to handle it?" Millie looked at him and grinned. Marvin narrowed his eyes. He didn't understand. Was she going to sell it?

Winston said gently, "I don't need you to accompany me. Be a good girl and go home." Joanna thought for a moment and agreed. She needed to see Logan and find a way to acquire the Snowdrop. Selma's birthday was only a few days away! After Joanna left, the ward went silent. Winston sat up slowly. He leaned on the bedframe and looked at where Millie had sat. Eli poked his head into the room and asked softly, "Mr. Greer, can I come in?" Winston looked up. Eli was grinning mischievously. Out of the blue, Winston said, "You've done well tonight." Eli narrowed his eyes. "Of course I have. After all, you were the one who trained me!" Winston glared at him. Was Eli saying he learned to scheme from him? Eli coughed and passed his phone to Winston. He said, "Mr. Greer, I received a message from Mrs. Greer after she left, reminding me to make sure you take care of yourself." Winston stared at the message from Millie, his eyes darkening. "Do you like him?""Right, I've fall

The elderly couple happened to see Winston at that moment.Arthur and Layla exchanged glances. Layla spoke up first. "Mills is not here!""I understand. I'm not looking for Mills." Winston approached and stopped in front of them. "Grandma, Mills should have mentioned it to you. I was thinking of spending the Spring Festival with you and her."Layla reacted as if she had just heard a joke, saying bluntly, "When you were married, we never saw you spend the Spring Festival with her. "Now that you two have nothing to do with each other, why are you coming to spend the Spring Festival with her? She has family; she doesn't need you to spend the Spring Festival w

Even though Winston wasn't eating, he was really good at paying and carrying things.Millie felt a strong sense of nostalgia for her own college days as she watched the university students eating. She wished she could go back to high school or maybe even college. She had seen many novels where the main female character went back to high school, and in each of these stories, she no longer loved the male lead when she returned back in time.If she went back to high school…"What are you thinking about? You're about to walk into the wall." Winston interrupted Millie's thoughts and pulled her closer to him.Millie really had almost bumped into a wall."Nothing." She smiled at Winston.Winston raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. The light from the food trucks shone on him and cast an indescribable sense of fate about him.He didn't belong here. Millie felt an increasingly strong urge to take him out of the scene immediately.Millie felt that if she went back to high school

With her having such good taste, shouldn't I buy two to show some support?"The vendor laughed heartily.Millie pressed her lips together and moved her mouth slightly. For a moment, she didn't know what to say.The vendor said, "It seems like I was right. If I had mentioned the word husband, then would you have bought out my whole car?"Winston nodded. Millie was the type of person who stood firm on what she wanted, regardless of who was around. No setbacks or hardships could affect her.Winston thought about this and felt even more heartache for Millie. He was the one who turned the brave and passionate girl, someone who never cared about what others thought, into the cold person she was now.He felt that loving someone was akin to taking care of a flower. He had watched as a beautiful tulip transformed into a rose covered in thorns."Winston?"He heard Millie's voice close by.Winston turned his head and saw Millie frowning. "What are you thinking about? Let's go?""Not going to watch for a bit longer?" he asked."I've seen this fountain so many times. What's so special about it?" Millie remarked with a clear voice, glancing at the fountain.Winston smiled but didn't say anything. In the past, every time she was there, she would always use excuses like "I haven't seen enough" or "Let's watch the fountain a little longer" t

"Hey there, could you help me take a picture?" Millie was looking around when someone suddenly called out to her.Millie turned around to see a tall boy holding a camera. Behind him, there was a girl waiting.Millie nodded and was about to take the camera to help with taking a picture.Winston suddenly asked, "Can I help""Huh?" The boy paused. He looked at both of them and then said with a smile, "Alright then…"However, he was clearly hesitant.Millie chuckled and said, "Let me handle it. I might be a bit more skilled than Mr. Greer is."Winston shrugged and didn't say anything else.Millie stepped forward with a camera in her hand. The two students stood next to each other. They maintained an appropriate distance, suggesting they weren't close. The girl wore a dress layered with a coat, which made her look stylish.Millie observed the two individuals. She could tell that the boy had feelings for the girl, for he was being very cautious. The girl was smiling sweetly at the

The man was wearing a loose sweatshirt with black pants. On top of that, he wore a long padded coat. His tall stature made him stand out among the other students. He looked even more like a student because of his outfit.Millie was a bit surprised when the person happened to look up in her direction. The two of them stood gazing at each other from across a wide asphalt road.Millie walked over and asked, "What are you doing here?"Winston pressed his lips together and didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked her, "Why are you here so late?""I asked you first." Millie looked up at him, determined to get an answer."Just trying to revisit some memories," he said calmly. He ran a hand through his hair before putting both hands in his pockets.Millie hummed in acknowledgment."What about you? You're not from the University of Yerwick, are you?" he laughed.Millie looked at him with a calm expression, as if nothing could really stir her interest."I have quite a few memories

Millie felt guilty, squeezing the orange in her hand so hard it was almost about to burst. She mumbled softly, "I mean, is it alright that Winston also came to the Spring Festival?"Layla placed the items on the table, then sat down on the couch and asked, "Why? Doesn't he have a home to go to?"Millie hesitated. That was a tricky question to answer."Got kicked out by the Greer family?" She eyed Millie with an intense gaze that was overwhelming and quite fierce.Millie didn't dare speak, but she still had to answer, "No."Layla gave a cold smile and immediately asked, "So why isn't he going back to his own home for New Year's Day and instead coming to ours? Is he crazy?""Grandma, he…" Millie wanted to explain."I don't agree," Layla stated flatly, dismissing any further explanations.Millie choked up and quietly looked over at Arthur.Arthur's expression grew more serious, as if he agreed with what Layla had said, and he turned his attention to the television."You're not e

Winston could sense that Millie was helping him to look better in front of the elders.Millie's demeanor remained as gentle as ever. The more he pursued her, the more he felt unworthy of her. She was really too outstanding. It was true that with some people, the more one got to know them, the more one would fall in love with them.Meanwhile, some others became less noteworthy as more people got to know them.Winston sincerely expressed his gratitude, "Thank you, Millie."He felt grateful regardless of whether she was willing to give herself another chance or if she once loved him.Millie looked down and said, "No need to thank me. I'm giving you a chance, but it's also a chance for myself.""Winston, even if I'm not with you, I won't love anyone else again."One painful experience of love was more than enough for her.Winston chuckled softly and said with a deep voice, "That's my fault.
