Jeff's eyes turned cold in an instant.

"Hades, I'm a lawyer. My job is to show my client the truth. I want my client to be free of any grievances. I'm not like you. You find it so easily to cause others grief."

Hades narrowed his eyes, which were swirling with unknown feelings.

He never thought of causing Alanna grief. The truth was, he knew better than everyone else that telling Alanna the truth right now would only serve to worsen the conflict between them.

At first, Hades planned to spill the beans to Alanna once he patched things up with her. Of course, he wouldn't let Melanie off the hook. He'd make sure to seek justice on Alanna's behalf for the hurt and torment she had to go through in the past.

However, Jeff had to screw things up by telling Alanna the truth in advance.

"Jeff, you'd be wise to not meddle in my and Alanna's affairs from now on. Otherwise, don't blame me for calling Mrs. Simmons."
