I was sitting on the couch and Connor was kneeling in front of me while I held him tight and sobbed into his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me lightly, trying not to hurt me but rubbing my back at the same time. “What are you talking about? I don’t understand.” Connor says to me. “My father killed my mother. She told me.” I sobbed out. “It was just a dream. I mean, it might not be true.” Connor says. But I knew that it was. It was a dream, but it was more than that. My mother came to me. She warned me. She needed me to know what was going to happen when my father found me. She told me to stay close to Connor. That I would need all the protection that I could get. He was going to come for me. I don’t know now because his pack aren’t warriors. They’re a joke. But that doesn’t mean that he won’t find other ways of getting me. I knew that to be true. He was a monster. A manipulative monster. I shook my head, letting Connor know that he was wrong. “She came to me. She told me t
ALPHA CONNOR POV We searched high and low for Vera but there was no sign of her. She somehow managed to hide her scent, and he lost her trail. She was a good warrior and the guards on duty that had been watching her told me that she had been growing insane not being able to see me. So I don’t know what sort of mindset she was in right now. We all went back to the village to meet and gather intel in case they might have seen something that wasn’t important but could lead us to where she really was. We were in the middle of the village discussing what happened while looking for Vera and a couple of warriors had been attacked but there was only the one death. I was grateful for that. That was until I looked up towards my cabin and the two guards at my door were lying lifeless on the veranda. “Oh no.” I say running full speed towards my house. I jumped over their bodies and I slammed through the front door. But it was deathly quiet inside. I looked around the living room and kit
ALPHA CONNOR POV As soon as I got to the packhouse Alpha Silas was waiting in the living room for me with a couple of his warriors and Miles was with him. “She’s down in the dungeon.” Miles said, looking towards an open door. Without saying anything to anyone, I walked to the door and down the stairs. It smelt moldy and old and not fit for human’s. Which I thought was very suitable for Vera. The floor was concrete but the walls were brick and every cell that I passed I could see blood splattered on the walls and floors. They never even tried to clean up after torturing and interrogating prisoners. That didn’t bother me at all. I actually liked it. It could be a scare tactic for other prisoners that were put in the dungeon. And it would definitely work if someone was in trouble. I liked the setup of the dungeon. Mine is just a cave with chains in the walls. Which is why we needed 24-hour guards watching the prisoners. I could hear noises coming from the very last cell and there
ALPHA CONNOR POV Miles and I raced to the hospital as fast as our legs would take us and I ran straight to Aurora's room and there were people everywhere. Warriors checking out the room, the nurses, Dr. Evelyn, everyone that was involved in Aurora's care. "What the hell happened?" I demanded as soon as the door slammed open. And a nurse stepped forward. "Alpha. I don't know what happened. I came in at about 20 past 12 to do her vitals and she wasn't here." The nurse says. And I looked at the clock. It was 12:30am. Technically it was Aurora's 16th birthday now. "It's her birthday. I need to see the security cameras. Everything that you have. I need to know if any of her father's people were here." I demanded. So the head warrior took me to the surveillance room and we started looking through all of the video footage from outside Aurora's room. There were no security cameras inside the rooms, only in the halls. And we started looking through the recordings but there was nothing.
ALPHA CONNOR'S POV I began running to the North side of the territory, as fast as my legs would take me. And the warriors with me, they were getting left behind. They were having trouble keeping up with me. But I didn't care. I needed to get there. The warrior didn't tell me what kind of shape Aurora was in. I didn't want to ask. He never said if she was alive or dead. Maybe he found her body and he didn't know how to tell me. He sounded very strange when he spoke to me in the mind link. Like there was more going on then him just finding Aurora. My heart was almost beating out of my chest the whole time I was running to get to them. The worst images going through my head. I couldn't help it. Everyone always imagines the worst. And that was no different here. The warrior didn't give me any information and I was scared to death. If he had alerted me to her using a different tone then maybe I would know what I was walking into. But he didn't. So, whatever he has seen, it's not normal.
AURORA'S POV At the strike of midnight, my 16th birthday, I was completely unaware that it was my birthday and I opened my eyes standing in the middle of the forest. How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was Vera attacking me in Connor's house. I vaguely remember being in a hospital. But that was it. I felt my stomach and I looked down because it wasn't as flat as it usually was. It was still flat, but at least my ribs weren't sticking out anymore. I actually had a little bit of fat on me. How the hell did that happen? How long was I in that hospital? And the dress that I was wearing. It was white and beautiful and when the wind picked up it would flow with the wind and it felt amazing. I looked around me and it was the middle of the night. I could see the full moon in the sky above me but I had no memory of getting to the forest. I looked down at myself and I felt different. I didn't feel weak. I looked at my hair and it was thick and beautiful. And for a moment, I t
Connor insisted that I go to the hospital and see Dr. Evelyn to get checked out. But she couldn't find anything wrong with me. Not only were my stab wounds completely gone, but the scars that my father left on my body were gone too. Not just the whip marks, but every single scar that he had inflicted on me over the last 15 years were completely gone. No one could explain it. But I wasn't complaining. I have never felt this strong. I have never felt this confident. It was surreal. And I was loving every minute of it. Connor never left my side for a second, as you can imagine. But I didn't mind. I liked having him right there. I needed him right there. I didn't want him to leave my side for a second. And now I knew that he never would. When I felt that bond snap into place, it was like something I could never explain. It was like my soul, that was completely shattered before, he put back together and completed it. When Dr. Evelyn said that I was alright to leave the hospital then I
“Do you still think that Alpha William is not a bad guy?" I asked. "There's no way that he did this." Lincoln yelled back. "Then who the fuck did?" I yelled. The dragon then opened its mouth and Connor grabbed me and we started running as fire came spewing out of its mouth. Our warriors were ordered to retreat and we had to find somewhere to hide where the dragon couldn't find us, or see us. Everyone separated and were told to meet back at the pack when they were sure that it was safe. Connor and I headed in a different direction, Connor holding my hand as we were running through the woods, narrowly escaping the fire from the beast that seemed to have it's sights set on us. It was following us, but when I turned to look I noticed that it was looking at Connor. I think it was trying to kill Connor before it killed me. Connor still had a hold of my hand as he jumped over a fallen tree in the middle of the forest, but we didn't see the big drop on the other side of the fallen tree.
We got to the hospital in record time as soon as I went into labor and I could tell that Connor was panicking. And to tell you the truth, it was driving me crazy. I was taken straight to the birthing suite that was done up, just for me. A private room with all the perfect amenities that I didn’t ask them to do but no one would take no for an answer. And Connor wanted the best for me and his baby. As soon as we got there the doctor came to examine me and he said that this baby was in a hurry. It wasn’t going to be a very long labor at all. By the time I had to start pushing Connor was really getting under my skin. “Alright, baby. You can do this.” Connor said. “No shit. I don’t really have a fucking choice now, do I?” I yelled. “It’s alright. I know that it’s just the pain talking.” He said. “No. It isn’t. You’re pissing me off. Shut the fuck up and stop touching me. That’s what put me here in the first place.” I yelled. So he stopped touching me, but he stayed right beside
AURORA POV As soon as I came through that portal, I knew it worked and that I was home again. I came through at the same place as when I went to the other realm. And I knew my way back to the castle just fine. I started running back to the castle, but I was slower these days with the stomach weighing me down. But as soon as I started getting that really funny feeling I started pushing myself to go faster and harder. Connor was in trouble and I needed to get to him now. As soon as I got to the castle, I saw wolves running off into the forest, but Connor was at the castle. I followed my feeling and his strongest scent around to the patio, only to see him standing on it and ready to jump off of it and kill himself. I practically flew through the air to tackle him backwards onto the patio, and I hurt myself as I landed as well. It wasn’t a soft landing. I stayed there for a moment when I heard Connor get up and he gasped as soon as he saw me. I managed to get up and look
Just as I was regaining my composure from being slammed onto the stone ground of the patio I growled as I got to my feet quickly, ready to abuse and scream at whoever stopped me from getting the only release from this prison that I had been living in. But when I turned to look, I saw the blonde hair covering the face of the person that was facing away from me, laying on her side on the ground. “Aurora.” I said, almost like I didn’t believe it. She turned her face to look at me, her bright blue eyes shining in the moonlight, looking straight at me. I dove on the ground next to her and wrapped her in my arms. I felt all over her back and her hair and the side of her face, just to make sure that she was real. “Is it really you?” I asked. “Of course it’s me.” She said. She slowly started getting up, but I noticed that she was having trouble. And that’s when I noticed her swollen stomach. “Oh my god.” I said. “How long have I been gone?” She asked. “You don’t know?” I ask
CONNOR POV I was laying in bed next to an empty vodka bottle when someone started banging on my bedroom door. I laid there ignoring it until the door banged open and I saw Miles standing there with his new mate Emma. “Get out.” I said, rolling over. “Connor. You need to get your ass out of this bed.” Miles demanded. But I laid there, not saying anything to him. I didn’t have anything to say to him. “Alpha. You need to get up. This pack is depending on you. They need their leader.” “Their Queen is dead.” I said. “You don’t know that.” Miles yelled. “She’s been gone for two and a half months. She would have come back to me by now. She’s dead.” I said. “Maybe she just can’t find a way back. We’ve been researching how to open a portal and we’ve come up completely empty. Maybe she can’t figure it out either.” Emma said. “I didn’t ask for your opinion.” I said. “Alpha. The people need you.” Miles said. But I grabbed my blanket and I pulled it up over my head. I heard th
It took us two days to get back to Arthur’s castle, and I was surprised to see that the damage from the attack was already fixed. His men worked pretty quickly around here. Even though it had only been two days, my stomach had swollen a lot more than it was when I killed Mila. I was actually a little curious to know how far along I was now. Because I had no idea and there was no way of telling until I got home. As soon as we got to the castle we were greeted with a hero’s welcome. It had already spread across the land that the black witch was dead. And the whole realm was rejoicing and celebrating the news. “You’re a local hero around here. Are you sure you want to leave?” Arthur asked. “As much as I think this place is beautiful, it’s not home.” I said. “I know. Come on, let’s go and see what they’ve found out.” He said. So we went inside and there were people scattered everywhere over two rooms of the castle. “Your majesty.” A woman said, bowing her head for Arthur.
As the dragon and I were battling it out, it started to realize that we weren’t going to be easy prey. When it had been distracted long enough, Arthur and his men snuck around the side and used their swords to slice the dragon’s legs. It was enough to get it’s attention and it fell back slightly, drawing it fire back from me and giving me the advantage. I released my fire at the dragon again, hitting it directly in the middle of the chest and causing it to catch on fire. It stumbled around and back into the middle of the mountain until it fell to the ground and didn’t get back up. I walked to the edge of the cliff that the dragon had fallen over and I saw Mila and another blonde woman, dressed in black also, staring up at me. Not believing what they just saw. “Did you really think I was going to let you get away this time?” I asked. “What have you done?” The woman screeched, running to her fallen dragon. “I stopped that beast from killing me. I’m sure that anyone would
I was pushed out of the way at the last second by someone who was then thrown down the hall by the electric blast. I heard Arthur start yelling and I turned around to see Uther on the ground and Arthur’s men were surrounding him. Mila started approaching us again, striking at us however she could, but I noticed that her anger was causing her to be careless and reckless. She wasn’t hitting anyone. She was just aiming towards them and hitting the building around them. So I got up and instead of using any magic against her right now, I charged at her and tackled her to the ground. I got up and kicked her in the face and stopped on her chest, causing her to have trouble breathing for a moment. I stood back and she rolled to the side and she saw the blood coming from her face, wiping it away with her hand. She looked even angrier after that, but before she had a chance to react, I kicked her in the stomach and punched her in the throat. She fell back against the wall and I gr
Knowing that my pregnancy was progressing like it would be in my world, I was unsure of just how long it would take for me to give birth. I could only have a week or two for all I know. Arthur looked really worried about it as well. I don’t think he was all that keen about having to deliver a baby. We saw the witch disappear with his soldiers and there was no way to warn the men at his castle, in case the witch was planning on attacking them. We were both worried for so many reasons and they weren’t small worries either. “Listen. I might be able to get us out of here but it’s not going to be pleasant. I just need to try and control the magic that she’s placed on the bars.” I explained. “How are you going to do that? Won’t that be dangerous and harmful?” Arthur asked.“I can handle it.” I said.“What about the baby? Are you willing to take that risk?” He asked.“What else are we meant to do? Just sit here and wait until she’s decided what shes going to do with us? I can guarantee
Arthur and I noticed that we were locked in that room alone, his other men had been captured by her soldiers somewhere along the route to the room, but we were too interested in what was happening right in front of us. Medea’s dead body and all. “I hope you don’t think this cage will hold me for long.” I said. “No. Just long enough to wipe out his army.” She said, looking at Arthur. We then heard a lot of shouting outside, so we ran to the window that also had bars on it and the soldiers outside were being attacked by Sphinx’s and Pegusas’ soldiers. They weren’t outnumbered, but they were taken by surprise and they were being attacked from all sides. “My men will tear through that pathetic army that you have down there.” Arthur said. “Maybe. But not for a while. And not without losing a lot of your men as well.” The witch smirked, before disappearing in another cloud of smoke. “Can you get out of this cage?” Arthur asked. “Yeah. But just give me a minute.” I said. “What d
