Amelia's pov

The cafeteria buzzes with hushed whispers of shock, stolen surprised glances that turn to lethal glares from the girls while the boys look wonder. They must be wondering what kind of rock fell on Raiden's head.

My glare hardens and my gritting teeth pains my jaw but I cannot stop as I grow more and more frustrated. I take a quick glance at the line and noticed Pickett had finally become aware of what was going on.

Her eyes told me she was angry and just as stunned as everyone else. Of course she'd be angry, I had promised her I would never deal with Raiden again and she would not have to worry about Dayna taking out her anger for me on her anymore.

My stomach burns with guilt and I look away, staring back at Raiden whose head is still tilted, eyes intense on me. It feels like I have betrayed her once again.

" You must be a clown today," I gritted, loud enough so everyone could hear. " A clown who's not funny at all."
