Chapter five

Within a few minutes of our entrance into the shopping mall. Few people have already recognized Matilda dispersed of her disguise.

The manager welcomed us into the VIP because of her identity. Well, I was even happy because God knows that I won't be able to stand for so long in these high heels.

I was privileged to experience her celebrity lifestyle. Few people have already come to snap pictures and also get her autograph.

She smiled throughout the whole process even due, I know she was getting irritated by the attention even after her disguise.

So, when the manager came out to welcome her. She was relieved.

I looked at her expression and laughed out the more" What is wrong with you?"

She asked slightly getting irritated by my laughter.

" Ah, I'm sorry miss celebrity. I won't laugh again but honestly, you should be happy for the attention. It means you have a lot of fans. I'm sure many of your colleagues who are still below want to be like you."

She sip from her drink and crossed her leg over the other and looked at me before replying.

" I'm going, to be honest. I am thankful to God for where I'm today but it gets irritated when you are unable to go out without disguise and at times you get exposed and get crowded even with disguise like today. You can't even get to leave a normal life anymore." She said frustrated.

I looked at her face and laughed. I get I'm going to have fun dragging her around. She sip the fruit drink offered to both of us with the red straw in it and looked at me weirdly.

I stop laughing and touched my face and asked" What! Why are you looking at me weirdly? Is there anything on my face?"

She smiled and dropped her fruit drink before replying " I'm happy you are laughing now. Nana, I always want to see this smile on your face no matter what."

I was about to reply when someone entered the room.

" Ma'am, you can now shop in the VIP sections."A young beautiful woman informed us.

" Okay thank you," she said and turned to me.

"Let's go and do shopping." She said sounding excited again gone was has irritated face.

We both stood up but before we could walk out, the noise from the television caught my attention.

I looked towards the television and was stunned by the handsome fellow on the tv surrounded by the press and was been interviewed.

I looked at him with shock, he looks familiar and but I can't remember. He was putting on a black custom-made tuxedo suit. His jet black hair was combed and styled on one side.

Forgetting already about the people behind me, I found myself focused more on him and couldn't remove my eyes from him.

He was so beautifully handsome and sexy.

I listened as he was been questioned about the new partnership contract, he signed and his new interest in going into the medical and hospital business.

I froze in my spot when the camera was zooming into his face. His brown eyes, pointed nose, and sharp jaw were familiar to Fred. Something crossed my mind.

No that can't be! Maybe it was just a coincidence and I was just being paranoid.

Before I could have closer look at him. I was pulled out of my thought as my best friend's hands touched me.

I looked at her and she smiled innocently and giggled before pulling out of the room.

" Are you already smitten by him, just like the rest of the girls?" She whispered to my ear.

I looked at her wide opened and like a foreign element.

" Never, smitten? Me? Never!" I raised her hands in denial.

" Yeah yeah, I know!" She said giggling. She looked at me with a smile.

Throughout the shopping, my mind was dominated by what I saw earlier. I had some doubts and most importantly confused.

One question was still on my mind which is " Those it mean he is the mysterious Fred's father or is he related to any of the fathers."

After shopping which latest for two hours, my foot was sore. Immediately I entered my room. I collapsed on the bed leaving the shopping bags on the floor.

Throughout the dinner, I was so preoccupied that any discussion was not for me.

" Are okay?" Mrs. Millicent asked.

I looked up and found everyone looking at me with a worried expression on their faces. I clear my throat and nodded.

" Are you sure?" She asked again.

" Yeah, just tired. I think I should go and rest. I will see you guys tomorrow."I said, dropping my cutleries, and standing up before leaving the dining. I could their gazes burning my back but being me I ignored them.

I went into my room, took a cool shower and changed my night clothes, and retired to bed.

I off the light in the room and closed my eyes but honestly, I couldn't sleep at all.

All I can see were his familiar brown eyes and sharp jaws. I felt a shiver in my body at the possibility of him being Fred's father.

I stood up from the bed sweating furiously.

I looked around the room in confusion and wondered where I was.

The room looks unfamiliar and darkness was its epitome.

" Who is here!" I shouted and called.

I touched the knob of the door. I tried to open it only to notice that it was knocked. I banged on the door but nobody responded. The silence was the only thing that responded to my call.

"Please somebody should open the door for me." Feeling drained. I sat down on the floor and let out a sob.

Shortly I heard a footstep and my hope lited. Soon the door was opened and the lights were turned on.

I stood up and looked up at the new intruder and my breath paused, my eyes widen, and my heart beat accelerated.

His brown eyes stared at me with an unknown expression.

" What di..... What did... you want."

A low chuckle escapes his mouth. "What did you think?"

He said taking a step towards me while I took a step back.

" Don't come close," I shouted but he ignored me and another step forward.

" Please don't harm me." He paused and looked at me dangerously.

" Are you tired of running away, Lina? Bring him back! No member of our father grows outside. Do it now or when I come for him. You are going to...."

" No! I wont won't!" I screamed.

I opened my eyes sweating furiously and looked at my surroundings. Looking at the familiar room. My breath became calm and normal

I put my hand on my chest breathing, " What happened?"

I looked at the clock and it was already 7:30 am. I screamed and stood up.

" I have an interview by 8:00 am."
