HAYDEN
‘Please…somebody…help me…anyone…’
I could hear her weak plead as I rushed inside the pack house and my family who was worried over the woman resting in my bedroom. I ignored them and pushed myself inside where I saw my brother worriedly holding his mate, RJ who had been crying in his arms. I was about to ask them the details of the situation in my room when I heard her weak voice call my name.
‘…Hayden…’
Hearing that tone broke my heart but what made me worry was her violent tossing and turning around my bed slowly subsiding. I rushed to her side and growled deeply as soon as I saw the trail of tears fall on her face. I don't like this sight at all and growled madly.
ROXANNEDays and nights quickly turned into weeks and still no budge. I couldn’t find the right time to escape this place because wherever I turned, I was either held occupied by patients, Henry, RJ, or everyone else in the town. They were all warming, and I didn’t want to grow attached to them since I still couldn’t accept that their likes did exist, or maybe it was just my escape from more complications. And speaking of complications, whenever I try to use anything to slip without being noticed, somebody else does. I either stumbled and dumped into the arms of the person who intimidated, scared, and lured me in, Hayden.“Woah, you okay?" Hayden worriedly asked when I saw myself in her arms when I unexpectedly tripped on my footing. I’m not sure if it was just coincident or fate to always fall into her arms, although I’m not a cl
ROXANNEA few days from my escapade, gladly, Hayden didn’t lock me in our bedroom that we started sharing after what I did. She did nag me for an hour, telling me what I should or shouldn’t do now that I’m in their town. But she didn’t even let me be alone, particularly around the hospital, but I was glad that she didn’t let me be with someone I didn’t know. I was either with RJ, Henry, or Harriett, and the three of them began teaching me about werewolves and other creatures that I didn’t know existed in their world.“So again, brief us about the rankings here in the pack.” Being amused, Henry told me to repeat what I’ve learned so far about them. I sighed because they’ve been making sure that I remember everything from the last lesson that we tackled before.“The rankings in pack were
HAYDENSeeing Roxanne bonded with everyone, I was beyond astonished as her natural friendliness managed to capture some hearts of my pack. But I know some weren’t pleased with the attention that I was giving her, and it was my fault for not telling them who she was to me. But, I have my reason since Roxanne hasn’t accepted my proposal.“Hm, she’s back.” I sniffed the air inside the pack house since my wolf was jumping inside my head, making me stop working over my paperwork. As soon as I reached down the staircase, I suddenly fumed up. I saw my sister kissing my Luna.“HARRIETT!” I roared, catching their attention, and
ROXANNEAgreeing with Hayden’s proposal has two faces that I had anticipated; one, our morning routine shifted whenever Hayden woke up before me. She showered me with morning kisses and then tickled me. It was an adorable and heartwarming morning routine, which led my attraction to begin to change. But for now, I had to tone it down and keep it for a while. The second one was our lone patrolling routine around the town, where she taught me some basics about tracking and shadowing. It was a fun patrol, but something slipped and caused annoyance in my routine around the hospital.“Damn those bitches.” Dr. Ruby Jade Kim, aka RJ, annoyingly entered our shared office in the hospital after doing her morning rounds."I know, right?" I chuckled since she was annoyed on my behalf. But my
ROXANNEResting after dealing with tons of paperwork, Hayden and I were on the couch having a tea break when she pulled my hand and gently caressed them. It was a surprising gesture, but being her Luna, I began to easily sense if there was something different or bothering her and if it was something serious that she wanted to talk about."Speak what you wanted to tell me," I calmly told her as I pulled my hands away from her touch since I still couldn't control the grown feelings whenever she touched me."How did you know?" She innocently asked with a chuckle in her voice, which I found adorable."I'm not sure, but ever since I accepted being your Luna, I started to sense it. So, spill the tea." I shrugged my shoulders as I nudged her side to speak to me.
HAYDEN“What I have done...” I growled in frustration as I ran aimlessly around the pack’s perimeter to do my usual lone patrol, but my heart and mind were elsewhere.Restless. Annoyed. Temper. Every emotion has been clashing inside of me ever since I ran away from my lovely Luna. I just can’t face her after what I—we did—although we slept in the same room on the same bed, I do everything in my power to put up walls and distance myself from her.“…I hurt her, my ma-Luna…” I clicked my tongue in annoyance when I almost said the word that I loathed and growled as I released a punch over a certain thick oak tree. Surprisingly, I managed to break. The vibration was loud, making
HAYDENI never knew that my unusual Luna, Roxanne, would have an imperious side that could cower and bring shivers just through her intimidating voice. It could cut any unwanted ego on the way, and even I wasn't excused for it. I shivered but in a good way. As Roxanne stood tall, she emitted something I had never seen in any intimidating humans before—dangerously deadly—and I was fascinated.“Who are you to say that? You’re just a whore.”Just one word. Just one address that this omega used against my Luna clicked something worse in me, causing me to release my deep throaty growl. It was a warning growl, as I didn't mind that a few customers in the café heard them and looked my way. They were surprised to see me in the prese
ROXANNE“Shit.” I clicked my tongue in annoyance at whatever was at the end of my tail.I surely enjoyed my night walk routine whenever my shift ended late. The town’s street was quiet from a few driving cars and people walking on the sidewalk. It was a serene walk, not until I felt weird out from sensing somebody was following me. I was trying to catch a glimpse of whoever it was, but there was none. I tried to ignore it, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of being followed.“I know I’m being watched because of Hayden, but this one wasn’t one of them.” I groaned as I tried to walk calmly, but I had to add some speed to my pace to shake the
Somewhere in the past, where once Roxanne had dreamed before, there was somebody—a woman walking back and forth restlessly. This young woman was a doctor and was restless as she waited for her supernatural friends to arrive at their meeting place just around the border between the city and the woods. Kathy Morison kept checking her wristwatch when a vampire man, Simon, popped behind her, followed by a werewolf woman, Isabella, carrying a young body.‘Jesus. Don’t pop like that.’‘Sorry, but we’ve got her.’‘Oh finally.’Isabella, who had been carrying the young girl, was handed into the doctor’s arms. She smiled with recognition as she took notice of the young girl's resemblance to her best friend, the young girl's b
EpilogueHAYDEN“Well, Roxanne came from the strongest bloodline, both werewolf and vampire, while, you were blessed with a fallen spirit wolf, which is unpredictable since they were spirits. So, if I base it on my previous job in the council, their situation will be considered, but for safety, you still need to be careful as they were born different from any of our kind.” Ralphie gave us a direct and honest answer before adding his advice. “Keep watching them and make a journal of their growing journey as well as their appetite. It will help you in case the councils or nobles go after them.”“Thanks, Uncle. We appreciated it.” Roxanne thanked her uncle when Avery went to her side, making her pick our cute little troublemaker.“No worries, they’re my blood too, and I will protect them at all costs.” Ralphie smiled with as
HAYDENIt has been an hour or maybe even more ever since my wife has been taken inside the operating room to deliver our triplets. I was agitated, and my body trembled in worry, making my mother and grandmother sit beside me. Their presence was enough to calm me, but the negative racing thoughts were still bothering me until here it went. We all heard it. I heard it; I even felt it. The sound of my wife’s scream made the entire land crumble as if the earth was opening. I feel her pain passing throughout my entire body like I was giving birth too, but honestly, there was something different here. I could feel blood and life leaving me, making me sit on the ground, and my surroundings started to spin.“Hayden, breathe.” I heard Yuna’s soothing voice while my mother gently patted my back.
HAYDENUnwanted ruckus erupted throughout the woods and partly around town, but everything was bearable until my agitation began stirring again. Then Roxanne’s annoyed and disgusted voice echoed around my ears.‘Honey, feel me. He got me.’As I heard those words, I knew for sure what happened. I feel her, and I am fuming as I dash to where she is. Like lightning, I arrived on time, but my wife was losing consciousness, and I had to be careful since they were already near her.“Not for long, asshole.” Roxanne weakly whispered, and then she passed out, and everything in my surroundings turned dark and bloody.
ROXANNEAs everything is plotted and ready in place, here they come—rogues and nomads. It was the brewing storm that my wife had been sensing ever since I was crowned two nights ago and what fear Hayden was for my safety, but not now. I didn’t need it as they ran like wild animals despite being in human form and neglected my wife’s warning veil that added to the pack’s defense.“Come close.” I sinisterly whispered as I activated the first layer of my wrath. The first layer was threatening malice that brought their fury to the surface, which I enjoyed. They began to take on their true form, but the malice was not simply causing their rage. It was gradually trapping them in their dreams. Although some managed to flee and run through th
HAYDENThe power that the Moon had given to me has been flowing smoothly around my body as I decided to release my decagram star. I let it steam up to the sky, which overlapped my wife’s rose thorn barrier that she put to the entire pack’s perimeter. It served as protection and warning for all of us, and with my added powers, I made sure to scare all of the threatening creatures trying to ruin our pack’s peace.“Veil by veil, layer by layer, secures and cloaks the entire land with unyielding protection,” I softly whispered as I released my powers in layers.By layering my powers throughout the entire perimeter, I felt the sudden stir tingling my arms, which indicated the kills that my layering powers could do. It began killing some r
HAYDENI don’t feel good. Something was about to come, and I could feel it in my bones. Feeling uneasy like this, I made sure that everything around the pack and the town was fully secured, but I could not shake the fact that something would come. I can’t just figure out what it could be, but I can’t sit tight and not be ready over these unshaken feelings nudging my chest.“Honey, are you alright?” Roxanne worriedly wondered as she saw me standing still in my office, looking afar.“Yeah, just worried.” I smiled as I pulled her into my arms and kissed her temple.“About?” She wondered.“Something bad might occur.” With a deep sigh, I replied what troubles me, making her cup my face.
HAYDEN“I know, but we can’t hide this field from everyone, and the more your uncle strictly forbids them, the more they’ll get suspicious and might steal them, which could lead to worse than minimizing it.” I shared with them my input regarding the field of mystical roses in public and added how the riddle would be written. “Write a riddle as a warning and an answer. Only a chosen few would be able to understand it, and the decision will be in their hands, not ours.”“If we do that, we need to have precautionary measures for what ifs,” Sonia carefully added, which I agreed with.“Sonia, collaborate on this issue with Uncle Ralphie, and if you two come to any decision, let us know; we’ll make a decision with the rest of the royal family,” Roxanne firmly told Sonia, who had been noting down our suggestions and ideas for the town’s updates
HAYDENAlone in the peaceful cabin’s oasis, I wasn’t disturbed or allowed to meet anyone from the pack as the royal family punished me in isolation. I was lucky enough to be punished within our pack’s territory after they learned what I did to the three exiled nobles that caused Sonny’s fall. My punishment was not just isolation but also to channel my blood wolf’s energy. However, the great punishment they laid on me was not being at the side of my pregnant wife unless I finished a month of cultivation.“What a punishment…” I mumbled with a longing sigh. I missed my wife so much, but there was nothing I could do but cultivate. My breathing was stable, and I could feel the heat from my energy begin to radiate around me. It was releasi
