Nicolas sat on the sofa, Calvin was beside him with a sullen face. On the other hand, Celine stood in the doorway, her breathing still labored after searching for Calvin almost all night.

"Calvin, we're going home now," Celine said in a firm yet soft tone, trying to control her emotions.

Calvin shook his head hard, hugging Nicolas' waist tightly. "I don't want to! I want to stay with Daddy!" Calvin shouted with teary eyes.

"Calvin, honey," Celine squatted down, trying to get on her son's level. "We can't stay here. Mommy told us that Daddy doesn't live with us anymore."

Calvin looked at his mother with a look full of disbelief. "Why not, Mommy? Why can't Daddy stay with us? Aren't we family?"

Celine was silent. The words pierced her heart. She knew Calvin was too young to understand this complicated situation.

"Calvin," Nico finally spoke up, his voice soft and calm. "Mommy you're right. Daddy now lives here alone. You have to go home with Mommy."

But Calvin just shook his

Nicolas stood in the kitchen, busy preparing breakfast for Calvin. The omelet was perfectly fluffy on the griddle, while the aroma of toast filled the room. He glanced into the living room, where Calvin was still wrapped in a blanket on the sofa, his face looking peaceful in sleep. "Calvin, let's wake up, son. Breakfast is ready," Nico called as he placed a plate on the table. Calvin squirmed lazily, opening his eyes slowly. "What's for breakfast, Daddy?" he asked, rubbing his eyes. "Eggs, bread, and vanilla milk. Come on, wash your face quickly," Nico replied with a small smile. Calvin got up with a lazy step, heading for the bathroom. A few minutes later, they sat together at the dining table. "Daddy made the eggs just right. It's delicious," Calvin praised as he spooned a piece of egg into his mouth. "Daddy always knows what you like," Nico replies, trying to break the ice. However, when breakfast was over and Nico started talking about going home, Calvin immediately

Devano had just entered the house with a worried expression, and Celine immediately approached, her arms folded across her chest. "Why didn't you bring Calvin?" asked Celine, her voice flat yet full of pressure. Devano looked uncomfortable, he looked down for a moment before answering. "Sorry, Celine. Calvin refused to go home. I tried to persuade him, but... he didn't want to come." "Doesn't want to come? Do you think I'm going to let that happen? You should have been more assertive!" snapped Celine, her tone getting higher. "Don't make excuses, Devano. I told you, no matter what, Calvin has to come home today!" Devano humbled himself, distressed by Celine's anger. "I... will go back to Mr. Nicolas' apartment." However, Celine was no longer patient. Wordlessly, she picked up the phone and called someone. His face reddened, the tears continued to flow non-stop. "I want Daddy! Take me to Daddy!" cried Calvin, his voice hoarse from crying so much. Celine stood by the stairs, clutching her throbbing temples. Her eyes looked tired, her hair a little messy. She looked at her son with a mixture of anger, frustration, and... helplessness. "Calvin, Mommy told you. Daddy is not someone you can trust. He can't give you a good life!" Celine tried to calm herself down, though her tone remained firm. However, Calvin's crying grew louder. The boy looked at his mother with eyes full of anger and hurt. "Daddy loves me! Daddy never yells at me like Mommy!" The words were like a hard slap to Celine. Her breath caught. At first, Nicolas only intended to ignore, but when he saw Gabriel touching the woman's hand intimately, he felt something was wrong. Nicolas decided to come closer, hiding behind a large curtain. "Honey, are you sure she's not suspicious?" the woman asked, her voice soft but full of sarcasm. Gabriel chuckled. "Celine is too busy taking care of the kids and the family business. Besides, she trusts me. The important thing is that I marry her tomorrow, and everything will be fine after that." The woman squinted. "Smooth how do you mean?" Gabriel leaned in, speaking more softly. However, Nicolas could still hear clearly. "Once I have full access to

The afternoon sky was dark when Celine came out of her office. Her heart was still heavy after canceling her wedding to Gabriel. She walked towards her car parked on the side of the road, unaware that a black car was slowly approaching from behind. Nicolas, who happened to be passing by, saw the figure. He felt there was something strange about the black car. Its speed increased slowly, and it was heading straight towards Celine. "Celine! Be careful!" shouted Nicolas, running with all his might. Celine turned her head with a confused look, but it was too late. The car was speeding away, just a few meters away from her body. In an instant, Nicolas pushed Celine to the side of the sidewalk, his own body bouncing onto the road. Celine screamed, her body falling to the edge of the sidewalk. Her head hit hard, and her vision began to blur. The black car sped off without stopping. At the hospitalThe hospital room was silent except for the sound of the monitor that kept beeping,

Devano sat in front of his laptop in the corner of the waiting room. His face was serious, his fingers dancing over the keyboard. He had collected some evidence, but not enough to ensure Gabriel could be arrested. On the other side, Nicolas stood up while watching Calvin who was drawing in his little book. "Devano, do we have enough evidence?" asked Nicolas, his tone anxious yet hopeful. Devano sighed, staring at the laptop screen with a tired look. "Not yet. Gabriel is cunning. Even though I have recordings of his conversations with his henchmen, it's still not strong enough in court." Nicolas clenched his fists, frustrated. "So, what else do we need? That man almost killed Celine. He can't get away with it." "I'm trying to trace the flow of money he used to rent that car. If we can prove that the transaction came from his account, then we have a stronger case," Devano explained. Nicolas nodded, though his mind was not at ease. "Hurry up. Celine stood in front of the bathroom mirror, staring at her still-flushed face. She covered her face with both hands, trying to calm herself down. "What have I done?!" she whispered emotionally. She hit the wall lightly, frustrated. "How could I be that weak? Why did I let him touch me again? " She shook her head, trying to erase the memory of the night before. But the image of Nico and the warmth he felt were too hard to forget. After a few minutes of silence, she took a deep breath, trying to control herself. "Focus, Celine. Don't let your feelings ruin everything," she muttered as she stared at her reflection. When she finally came out of the room, the house was quiet. She thought Nico was still in the room, but the place where he slept on the floor was empty. "Nico?" she called softly, but there was no answer. With cautious steps, she descended the stairs. The sound of Calvin's chuckle came from one of the rooms, making Celine follow the direction of the sound. When s

Without thinking, Nico immediately got up from his place on the floor and approached the bed. "Celine," he called softly as he touched her forehead. Her temperature was high, clearly she had a fever. Celine opened her eyes slowly, her voice trembling. "Nico... I'm cold..." Without hesitation, Nico took a thick blanket and wrapped it around Celine's body, then turned on the table lamp to see her condition more clearly. Celine continued to shiver, her lips looking bluish. Nico immediately looked for a way to make her warmer. "Celine, I'll help you. Relax, I'm here," Nico said softly. He sat on the side of the bed and tried to hug Celine's cold body. At first, Celine tried to resist, pushing Nico's chest weakly. "Nico... don't...," she whispered. Celine opened the mansion door slowly, the clock read a little over eleven o'clock. Her high heels made a soft tapping sound on the marble floor, filling the silence of the dark house. The lights in the living room were still on, and there, Nico was seen sleeping on the sofa in an uncomfortable position. His head drooped to the side, his hand still holding the cell phone with the screen off. Celine paused for a moment, observing Nico's face that looked peaceful in his sleep. That face had not changed much since the last time she fell in love with him. But now, that love felt tightly wrapped by the layers of ego and heartache that he continued to nurture. Slightly annoyed, she stepped towards the stairs, trying not to wake Nico. But the sound of his steps was apparently enough to wake the man up. Nico opened his eyes slowly, then immediately got up. "Celine?" called Nico, his voice hoarse and tired. "You just got home?" Celine only gave him a quick glance without answering, the

Her former mother-in-law, Maria, stood there with that stern expression she knew so well. Maria smiled faintly, although her eyes seemed full of determination. "Celine, we need to talk. This is important." Celine immediately stood up, slamming the document in her hand onto the table. "What are you doing here? This is my office, and you weren't invited." Maria stepped closer, ignoring Celine's anger. "I came because of Nico. Because of you. And because of Calvin." "If this is about Nico, I'm not interested in hearing about it," Celine cut in coldly. "And I don't have time for this chat. Please leave before I call security." However, Maria did not budge. The woman approached Celine's table, looking at her sharply.

That morning, the house was busy as usual. Celine was already preparing to return to the office after spending a few days at home for Calvin. "Is Calvin awake?" asked Celine as she descended the stairs. The nanny standing near the kitchen replied, "Yes, ma'am. He's having breakfast." "Good. The living room lights were still on even though it was past midnight. Nico sat on the sofa, laptop on his lap, a serious look on his face. He was reviewing reports and presentations for a new project at work. Although he is tired, there is a burning passion in his heart. He wants to prove to himself - and to Celine - that he can rise to the occasion. As he was typing, he heard soft steps coming from the kitchen. Nico lifted his head and saw Celine walking slowly with a sleepy face. Her slightly messy hair made her look different from usual, more relaxed, more human. Celine did not notice Nico's presence in the living room. She went straight to the kitchen to get a glass of mineral water. After pouring the water into the glass, she turned around with a slightly hurried step. But suddenly, she winced in pain. "Ouch!" Celine exclaimed softly. Her leg was sprained and her body lost its balance. Nico, who was watching from the sofa, immediately reflexively moved. Within seconds, h
