CHAPTER 2

                                                                                                                                                     30th July 1999

Aanya's POV:

I was certainly not welcome there anymore. I am 100% positive, if he ever saw my face anywhere, he would end me. Now I need to hurry up to the hospital before my brother starts complaining about my tardiness. Off I go!

~At the hospital~

"Can I go now? I will be back tomorrow morning." Chester said

"Go and come back early tomorrow I need to go back to the apartment." He nodded and left.

I went inside dad's room and he was sitting in his bed using his mobile for something.

"Where did your brother go?" he asked

"To the library" I lied

"Did you know your brother has been skipping classes and going to parties?" I nodded no. My father hates being lied to but right now I would rather lie than get another lecture on how much of an 'incompetent' daughter and sister I am.

He was diagnosed with appendix cancer a few months ago. Thankfully the doctors was able to find it when it was in the 3rd stage. However, my father was a stubborn person who insisted on using natural and herbal medicine from India to cure it. The medicine from India didn't help. it worsened his state. The next time we consulted a doctor it had reached the early stage of stage 4. Now he needs to get intraperitoneal chemotherapy. It is given in cycles and this is the 4th week. The money to pay all this off is what I was looking for today.

As night came, I gave him his dinner. It was rice and chicken. After that, he took his medicine and went back to his phone. I went outside his room and saw Nina there. Nina takes care of dad when I or Chester can't be here. She is sweet and polite. ladt in her 50s

"Hi, Nina. How are you?" I asked

"I am fine dear. I heard you went for an interview at the Rodriguez Industry. How was it?"

Just as I was about to answer the question my phone pinged. I murmured for a minute and took out the phone took to check the message. It was an e-mail from the HR Department of Rodriguez Industry. I read the email and the result was as expected. The job offer was declined. I really really need to try harder.

"Well, I think I just got my answer. I was declined. My interview was not that great so I am back to the café job as a waitress." I said with a sigh

"Oh dear, it's going to be okay. Be cheerful. You are going to get past these. I can see that your life is going to have a turning point from now on." I really hoped what she said was true. I need a turning point in my life.

I am going to have to go to the company tomorrow to take back some of my documents from there. I went back inside and got ready for the night and went to sleep.

Sweet dreams!
