The sound of wind blowing brought Christen back from her forced slumber, as she opened her eyes to the darkness of night. Her mind raced, as she tried to recall what happened to her last.

‘I was knocked out again, wasn’t I?’ she guessed, reaching a hand up to her head. ‘But why? Last I remember-‘ She stopped herself, eyes gone wide and face paled, upon recalling what occurred before she had blacked out. Mainly, when the door to the room opened, and he stood there.

She slowly looked around the room, hoping he wasn’t in, or that the figure she saw was not actually him. Sadly, as she turned to the door on her left, there he sat. On a chair, with his arms crossed, and head limped down, breathing slowly in deep sleep.

Seeing his face again after so long, Christen was both frightened and relieved to see him. The fright from the fact that she was seeing the one man she never wanted to see again, who gave her false hope in the worst way possible. Played with her heart in a way she didn't wan

Fenris was just in the bathroom, using the toilet as any person would. When he heard a strange sound, he didn’t think much of it; only assumed it to be the snowstorm outside. Until after he flushed and proceeded to wash his hands, when he heard something open from his room. After a quick rinse, Fenris barged out the bathroom to his room, where he found his mate out of bed, in the balcony.“CHRISTEN!”He ran as fast as he could to her, reaching a hand out to grab her, pull her away from the ledge, only to come short, as Christen jumped, falling to the ground below."Christen!" he cried out once more, just as the wind blew stronger. He wanted to jump down after her, but chose against it. For one thing, he could accidentally land on her. Worse, frighten her once he lands unscathed from the high jump, or recover fast from it.‘I don’t want to scare her,’ he thought, turning away from the ledge, and froze. ‘I don’t want to scare her… But I also don’t want to lose her!’ At that thought, he

Fenris searched desperately, even with the mate bond guiding him, but no matter where he looked or how hard he looked, he still couldn’t find Christen. It didn’t help that the storm was greatly being a hindrance to his already dulled senses. He could barely see the trees, barely smell anything out here, and with the wind blowing, not only was it hard for him to hear much of anything else…"Christen! Where are you?! Answer me if you can hear me!” He wasn’t even sure if his own voice could be heard through it. Heck, he could barely hear it himself in this storm. If he couldn’t hear himself, the possibility of Christen being able to hear him was quite low.‘Damn it. Come on, bond! Aren’t you supposed to help me find her?' he mentally questioned, having a difficult time making the pulse work for him. ‘I swear, if it tells me she's somewhere behind me or made another turn somewhere, I will definitely be questioning this feeling.’For a while during the search, Fenris thought he would find

Fenris was not having a good time. Not one bit. He was starting to feel a bit cold from the snowstorm. And if he was feeling cold, there was no doubt that Christen was. To save her from the cold, he had to find her, and fast.As much as he would like to do that, though, the mate bond- the one thing that was supposed to lead him to her the moment he wanted to find her- was not working as it should have. And his father’s suggested reason for it was really putting him in a sour mood.‘Are you trying to start something?’ he questioned with a growl.‘It’s called a possibility,’ Finral corrected, well aware of the ire his son was feeling. ‘Look, Fenris. I know it may not be what you want to hear, but it is still something you need to consider. Especially, given the multiple scents on her.’Fenris gritted his teeth when he pointed that out, knowing full well how true that may be. Still, he did not want to consider the thought. At least not until he hears the full story from Christen. 'Any ot

It took a bit of searching, but Fenris managed to find the cabin his father spoke of. As soon as he caught sight of it, Fenris didn’t waste another second and barged into the place, hastily setting his mate somewhere comfortable. That being the soft rug on the floor, for now. He then quickly searched around the shack for anything to warm her up, and thankfully found some furred blankets that he wrapped around her cold body. Once he had her all nice and snug, with the door and windows secured, he turned to the fireplace, which had some firewood right next to it, and got a good fire going.‘Alright. That should do the trick,' he thought, getting himself nicely warmed up by the fire as well. While his fur did help somewhat against the cold, he did still feel it a bit chilly out there with the terrible storm brewing. It didn't help that he did shift into his human form for a bit when he dug Christen out of the snow earlier. The form most vulnerable to the cold.Fenris turned his attention

Hotel Nightly. The very hotel Fenris met Christen that should've been in the human world. In no way should it have any connection in the werewolf world. Much less to some newly-made cabin in the middle of the woods. And yet... here he is. In the very same building.‘No, wait. Something’s not right here,' Fenris thought on suspicion. He took in a breath, and strangely smelled nothing. Not the smell of wood, of the paint, nothing. Above all, it was far too quiet in here. 'This is Hotel Nightly, right? Why do I feel something off about this place?'He proceeded to walk down the halls, looking around for anything that could close him in on what was going on."AAAAHHHHHHH!!" Until he heard that scream. From a voice he knew too well."Christen!" He ran as fast as he could to the source of the scream, worried about his beloved. The scream practically echoed in the halls, making it quite difficult for him to locate the right door.He closed his eyes, focused in on the screams, pushing down th

'Your mate? Did something happen to her?' Finral asked, filled with concern.‘No, she's fine. Nothing happened to her, per say,’ Fenris answered, somewhat easing his father.‘If nothing happened to her, then what is it about her you want to consult about?'‘It's just…’ Fenris looked down at Christen, unsure if he should tell him about the dream he had. When he saw her body starting to truth, a discomforted look forming on her face, he started to talk. ‘I had a dream earlier.’He could practically hear his father sigh at the response. ‘Fenris, I know you love her, but there is a time and place for everything,’ he told him.Already catching on to whatever misunderstanding his father has, Fenris added, 'It's not a good dream. And I don't know about it being a nightmare.’‘Explain yourself.’And explain Fenris did, as he told his father of the dream he had. How he saw Christen get violated by some men, while he could only helplessly watch the scene unfold, unable to do anything to stop it

When Christen woke, the first thing she noticed was the warm blanket wrapped around her body. Rather, the simple fact that she was still alive.‘I'm... not dead, again,’ she thought, looking at her hand. ‘Again, somehow, someway, I was saved. Again, god delays my death. And for what?' Tears formed in her eyes at the question, heart consumed in depression as she turned to her side, her hand lowered to the floor by her. ‘Is it really that amusing, god? Is it really that fun to watch me suffer day after day? Feed me whatever happy lies you can feed me, and then rip them all away with the most horrible of truths? I already fell in love- twice- and even had a child I loved and raised with all my heart… There is only so much more I can bear…' The tears escaped her eyes, trailed down the bridge of her nose, down her temple, and dropped to the floor. ‘Why? Why can’t I at least choose where or when I die?’Birds chirping reached her ears. Christen, wiping the tears away from her eyes, looked u

Fenris thought his pack and Damien lying to him about watching over Damien’s business and reassuring Christen's safety was shocking enough. More than when he found out the mate he was fated to be with was human. Her statement just now? With that smile on her face that he loved? He didn’t know what to think! He felt shaken to the core for her to make that assumption. More so, being happy at the thought of it.His surprise rose even more when Christen took his hand in hers- a touch that made his heart jump- and brought it to her neck, instantly filling him with dread. It did not help that Christen closed her eyes shut, a peaceful expression on her face."Okay, I'm ready. Please. End me,” she requested.Fenris was just baffled by what his beloved asked him to do. Heck, he was frightened by it, and ripped his hand away from her. In turn, Christen opened her eyes, looking at him in pure confusion."Huh? What's wrong? "What do you mean ‘you don’t know what’s wrong with her’?” Fenris demanded the healers, after spending hours watching them do their jobs, constantly checking Christen’s condition and comparing notes with one another, and even overheard them coming up with various theories as to what became of her. Theories shot down but the other healers.“Exactly as we mean it, Alpha. We checked over as many things as we could, and even took blood samples to see if there was anything wrong. Unfortunately, as far as we could tell, there was nothing wrong with her at all,” one of the healers explained.“‘Nothing wrong with her’ would mean that she would have no problem with waking up. Yet, she hasn’t so much as respond to our call to her one bit. You cannot be telling me that this is all nothing,” he demanded. “Check her again. Use every method you can think of to find out what is wrong with her. Try to get her to wake. And if I see so much as a scratch on her, I will hold all of you accountable. Is th

I promise you, you’re going to be okay!” he shouted to her, not receiving any response from her at all.‘How could this have happened?! Right after I promise her!’ he frantically questioned. That indeed. How could it be possible? He had just woken up from the nap he was having with her, feeling refreshed, and wanted to make some light meal to have with her. By the time he woke, she was still asleep, not that it bothered him. And since her body was warm- a sign that she was still alive- Fenris just thought to let her sleep peacefully a little longer while he was getting lunch ready for them. Fenris was shocked enough with everything he had found out that involved Christen. The way she so nonchalantly accused him of being like the other guys who toyed her really took the cake. “I would never play you like they did!” he exclaimed.Christen was unfazed by the shout, though, as she shook her head. “Of course you wouldn’t. You’re not human like my customers are; maybe you have a different preference in games, too. And now that you’re married, maybe this game you’re playing is one that your wife would be okay with. So long as it ends with my blood being spilled or something.”Shell shocked, Fenris did not know what to think or say about this. “How could you have so little view of yourself? Of me?” he could only ask.“Like I said. It wouldn’t matter what I say. Not to anyone else. Only Christian- my own son- cared, but now he’s gone. With a much better family, who would give him more than I ever could.”“You really think I don’t care? When I saved you from death, cared for you,

Fenris did not know what to think at this point, when he saw Christen crying for her son’s leave. Not out of sadness or desperation for him to come back, but accepting the leave? Accepting that he was happier with another family? But what about him? When he didn’t even know he had a son until now? Not that it was her fault, he supposed…“So… That was our- uh… ‘Your’ son I saw?” he asked.“Yes. And he’s happier with another family,” Christen answered, not daring to look at him, as she only sat on the bed, hugging her legs close to her, with the blanket wrapped around her body.Running a hand across his face in an attempt to calm himself down from this revelation, he asked, “And you know that. How?”“Because I was with him at the time.” The response confused Fenris. She was with Christian when he was with his new family? He had thought that once a child is given to another family, the original would not be allowed to see the kid. Then again, it was not as though she lost custody over hi

Fenris was shocked enough when Christen responded to him, then when she wanted him out of her life- when she wanted to have no further involvement in anything at all- but that last one? That one claim she made in her plea? Did he even hear her right?“Baby? What baby?” he asked, kneeling down to her side. As he was about to place a comforting hand on her shoulder, before he could even touch the blanket, Christen toppled over a bit, leaning against the door, with the blanket falling off her body. To his shock, astonishment, bewilderment, and all other words he could think of to describe the sight before him… Her belly was swelling. No, not ‘swelling’. “Pregnant… You were pregnant?” he asked her, looking to his mate and notice how pale she seemed. While he was no doctor, nor did he know much about pregnancy for human females, he could tell that it was not a good sign for the mother. Just as he was about to comfort her, the scene changed again. Not really the scene itself, as it was mo

It took a while for Christen to calm down. Unlike the last time she had a panic attack, she was still awake. Just huddled against the corner with the blanket wrapped tightly around her. Her eyes were red and puffy from the frightful crying, and seemed very distant.Fenris walked to her, a cup of tea in hand. “Here. Something to warm you up,” he offered.Christen did not take the offering, much less acknowledge it. Her mind wondering around to other matters.Fenris did not know what to think or say now, as he licked his dry lips. He sat down by her with a light sigh, and brought his tail to her, hoping she would at least react to it. Even then, there was nothing. Fenris was at a loss. Why was his mate refusing to answer now? Was taking her out really that bad an idea? Then again, she was hesitant on coming out earlier.“Did you have some bad experience being outside? Maybe a kidnapping or something?” he asked. A question that was left unanswered, considering how unresponsive Christen h

"Okay, I think that’s enough combing now,” Fenris said to Christen, having endured the gentle grooming long enough, as he moved his tail out of his mate’s hold. He could sense the small dismay his beloved was feeling, but for once, chose to ignore it. For he knew for certain he would not be able to handle any more of that touch if he continued to let Christen continue. He glanced behind him, wondering if his mate’s mood has improved after all that combing. While she did have a small frown on her face, he could see that it was not from the earlier experience; just the loss of his tail. The moment she noticed him looking, however, the frown turned into a slightly frightened, hesitating expression. “As I said, this will be a part of your job,” he reminded her. “I have you cleaning the cabin, it will become too sparkling bright as a hideout. If you do feel restless not having anything else to do, you can comb my tail. In fact, I will even allow you to cook, if you so wish. It gets tireso

When Finral confirmed his son’s bond’s legitimacy, the other werewolves looked on in interest with what the evidence was. “Everyone here tell me first. Has there ever been a time when a werewolf has ever linked their mind to a human in any way?” he began. There were some murmurs at the question, all with uncertain expressions. There were even some who wanted to think that the man was about to talk nonsense- especially from the Krawlers, namely Winston- but could see from the tone and expression that Finral was quite serious in the topic. “My son is able to do that with the human. Linking his mind to her’s when asleep.”The moment the explanation left Finral’s mouth, Winston brushed off the claim. “In other words, the boy was doing nothing dreaming, as are you. And yet it is my and my daughter’s positions that are called to question? If this is dreams we’re talking about, I’m sure many of us here has had plenty of dreams where there are other people included. Loved ones or otherwise.

Back in Fenris's house, in the Diamanté-Krawler Pack, things have gotten quite troubling for the Advisors. “This is the last time we have let your daughter get any sort of freedom, Winston. Not once did she get in the way of another werewolf’s mate bond, but twice. Nay, THRICE, if you include her meeting with Alpha Fenris’s mate the other day!” a male elderly Advisor from the Diamante Pack scolded.“But Allister, this ‘mate’ Fenris claims to be with is human. How do we know for certain of that person if his mate? And furthermore, let’s not forget that the boy is cursed. His senses dulled to the point that they have become equal to that of a human’s senses. Who is to say that he is not mistaken in what he feels?” Winston reasoned. “He’s not wrong,” a male Advisor of the Krawler agreed. “While those of us amongst the Krawler know little of this curse your Alpha has, as the people who have watched over him, you should have some idea of the curse. Better than we do, at least. That being
