“If I told you that Marc's wife is dead and buried there, would you believe me?”

My heart dropped upon hearing that.

“What? But he said that his wife was kidnapped, and he's trying to get her back by working for Sinister.”

“He refused to believe that she's dead, Becky,"

“How are you so sure it's her then?”

“When I met Marc he was almost dead. This is not long after I came to your country for some work. I had attended a function. That same night, I heard some noises just outside the hall at the back door. When I got there it was almost too late. The woman was in a bad state, she was stabbed multiple times. Marc was bleeding to death but hugging her and begging for someone to save his wife. I saw the old man who did it but saving them was more important. I carried them to the hospital, but doctors couldn't save his wife, only Marc made it. He lost his memory of the incident but remembered making the deal with the Salvatores to get his wife back."

“Oh my god.” I stood sh

~*~ “Well," I smiled teasingly, “That was something.” “Megan is not for me.” He answered. “Oh, so you have a type? I mean, she's beautiful though.” James gave a soft, short laugh, “You can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you're heart' is full of shit, that's not for me.”I honestly hadn't expected him to say something like that. It wasn't a ‘Sinister Response'. His way of thinking was so different from what I assumed it was.“Kid,” Marc called me as he poked his head out the door, “You all can come on in here if you like, I would like if you meet Martha.”I hesitated a bit, but James indicated to me that I should go.James got kept back with a phone call, so I followed Marc through the room and up a flight of stairs where we came to a cozy living area with a few doors to the side and a small open concept kitchen at the corner.“Oh this is lovely,” I smiled. The atmosphere gave such a welcoming hug.“Oh, you must be Becky!” a hearty voice called from behind me. A t

~*~James had been downstairs for more than twenty minutes and Marc had left along with the kids as well. I told myself I'd have patience, but that was running out quickly.“Are you alright?” Martha asked calmly behind me as she sat with Caleb, who was falling asleep on the sofa.“No, I just feel a little nauseous. I'll step outside for a bit." I smiled politely back at her and exited the room. There was this gut feeling inside me that something was wrong. Rushing down the stairs, I looked around for James, but he was nowhere to be found. Something was definitely wrong. Abruptly, I heard a loud thud that came from behind the back door outside. Making my way towards it, I heard two voices in argument, one including James.“Stop this nonsense, Ana. It has been going on for too long."“I will never stop until I get justice for my sister. After what you did to her:” She hissed.“I never hurt Violet. You knew this."“Oh please.” She scoffed, “And what about my mother?”“You've been accusin

My father constantly left us to fulfill his work responsibilities elsewhere until one day I discovered my mother was becoming very ill and needed urgent treatment. We didn't

After bidding farewell to Martha, I left with James.“So these people,” I began as I looked out at the night sky on our way back to the house,“Are you sure they'd help me?”"I'm one hundred percent sure, Grey.”“Okay good, I trust you, James. Even though I only met you recently. I'll kick myself if this turns out to be a lie.”“You'll what?” he almost laughed.“For trusting people, I have no reason to trust.”“It seems like a valid point.”“James,” I took a deep breath, “This man, Gianmarco Vincelli, I've heard the name before.”“I assumed you may have heard it. Not knowing it, however, would always be wiser:"“What do you mean?”“Nothing good ever comes out from knowing that name, Becky.”“I have only heard about him James, from what I know, he's not on good terms with the Salvatores.,"“They're rivals. Their families are against each other.”“But why?”“Are you questioning me about mafia business, Becky?” he laughed. Finally.“Have you ever met them?” I asked curiously.“Who?”“Sin

~^~You know how to drive right?" he suddenly asked me waiting for an answer, but continued anyway, “Doesn't matter. Take the wheel.”“What?”Before he even answered he scrolled down his window, grabbed a handgun from his kit, lunging himself halfway outside to aim at the chasers. Without another moment to spear, I unbuckled my seatbelt and scooted over to the driver's seat taking full control over the vehicle.“Keep driving!” I heard him shout to me as he hit his hand on the top of the car as a signal to me, “And don't turn back for me.”Gunshots aimed at us as I continued to drive faster and faster. James climbed out of the car completely, and I could hear his footsteps on the roof of the car while the sound of gunshots obstructed my hearing. From the rearview mirror, I noted James, jump onto one of the cars and kick the driver out. I was honestly amused. He's such a badass. Currently, we should focus on you because I, for one, don't want to get my ass involved with the Salvatore's anymore," “James told me about your father, Hades.” I began on our way back.“Daddy,” he spat, “Never liked that old bat anyway.”“Well, that's-"“Interesting? Sad? Pathetic? Yeah, we never used to see eye to eye. My old man was a dictator, I was a free spirit.”“Why were you tied up by Vincelli's men?” He rolled his eyes, “Are you always this nagging?”“I'm a woman, it's what I do.” I retorted, “And you didn't answer my question.”“I'm not obligated to answer to your cupcake.” Placing my hand on the gun, I smiled sweetly, “Would be a pity seeing a bullet through your brain,”“Can't have no damn civil conversation here, now can I?” he answered mirroring my smile, yet in an annoyed manner.“What can I say? My brother must be waiting for me outside, besides my mom did tell me to be wary of strangers." I smiled sweetly recollecting that most beautiful men play the dirtiest games.“Oh, I understand.” He said almost hurt. For some reason, my heart couldn't leave like this. • Shadows of Deception    Fiance? (Sinister’s POV)

Sinister’s POV I should hate this girl. She's nothing but problems. And yet, I find it most difficult to stare away right now. Her dark hair tousled down her back and over her shoulder as she leaned against the leather interior of the limo. She pressed her head gently against it as her eyes grew wary and distant. She'd been peeling the dead skin off her fingertips subconsciously since we got in here. Were the heels really that high? I shouldn't have asked the lady for the best pair. I should have just gone with the most comfortable pair. It was my fault. But how was I to know she couldn't walk in them? How was I to know anything about her? The navy gown clung to her body effortlessly. If anything, she could easily get mistaken for an angel fallen upon the earth. God. I pushed the thought away. What the actual fuck was I saying? She was a fallen angel sure, one just like Lucifer at least. Fallen upon me to frustrate the living daylight out of me. Her face glowed under the moonligh

You were with him that day when you went after Vincelli." I strained my voice to even speak. With a pause, “Yes, but I couldn't get you involved anymore. Grey, you have this life ahead of you. It's a great life, why are you looking back?" “Because you're there." “Becky," he breathed, stunned at that, his eyes softening. “You have my heart. You’ll always do. I'm perplexed as to what you see in a monster like me but maybe that's why I'm so drawn to you. You see me as virtuously human and I feel otherwise and somehow or the other you see me as worthy and I could never understand your kindness. I love you, fuck, you make me so weak." ~^~ "He was one of my closest friends. Shall I have this dance? For him?" James asks as he puts out his hand. Many of Archer's friends seemed to somehow have 'taken a liking to me' as Archer said in a somewhat cautious manner when he pulled me aside but I assured him that they weren't my type. God even knows what my type was. Walking back to the bar, I had another drink, and because I was a "lady" and most importantly, Archer's long-lost little sister, I had to upkeep a decent reputation- wine- no beer for me. Also, I couldn't kick that one guy violently to smash his banana when he tried to slide his hand down the equator. “I’m not sure if you're trying to get drunk or sober:" A man said to me from the side. “Is both an option?" "Only if you're trying to kill yourself." He started with a soft short

*~*The weight of the world seemed to be crashing down upon me or rather tugging mercilessly at the strings that sewed together the broken pieces of my heart. The entire flight I kept to myself and the weeks that came as well.Everything felt painful and it wasn't even that time of the month. “Do you know, when it was your birthday while you were in the coma, he spent every single second of the day with you? He didn't even give a shit about work. Whatever that day was, he canceled all plans and stayed at your bedside for every second. He was in so much pain seeing you like that, Becky. I almost envied that- that brotherly affection. It was beyond me."Snapping back to her attention as I heard that I held back a tear from escaping, she was right. I was being so selfish right now. Taking a deep breath, shut my eyes ready for the flight to take off when I heard a familiar voice. “You forgot this."Looking up I saw Nadia arching her eyebrows while taking the seat next to me, giving me my phone."What are you doing here?" I frowned, shocked at her presence. Nadia inhaled deeply and tiredly made herself comfortable in the seat, "I honestly don't know why but somehow this trip seems to be important to you. Also, your company kind of grew on me."Smugly I smiled, “Aww, you mean you'd miss me."She rolled her eyes and asked, "So where exactly are we going'?"“I have no idea.""Becky, you can't be serious!" That's the harsh reality of our burdened lives.I opened my eyes to feel the binding lights above me as my body drowned in the stiffening bed I rested on. A sudden chill ran across my body as I turned slightly to take note of the sun dying for the sky to breathe through the small window at the side. Where was I? Looking down at my body, I found myself decorated with hospital equipment for patients. Pushing away the oxygen mask from my face, I stumbled out the bed with an intense migraine. Why was I in a hospital? God, my head hurt. I pressed my hands against my temples as I moved across the room to the window.“Becky? Oh my God! Nurse!"
