Chapter 36: The cabin

Amari POV:

I woke up this morning with Shadow’s arms wrapped around me and I’ve never felt more connected to him. I feel like we are getting somewhere

“I’m thinking we go down to the stream today,” he says with my feet on his lap whilst giving me a foot massage.

Looking away from the pages of my book I put it on my chest

“It’s cold,” I say and he chuckles

“It’s Moscow in the middle of winter of course it’s cold but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t explore,” he says and I smile

“You guys have wolves,” I say trying to justify why I don’t want to go out. He chuckles rubbing my feet

“And I have two loaded guns,” he says climbing on top of me “Whose scarier” he grins, and I boop his nose

“The wolves,” I say and he rolls his eyes making me chuckle. He climbs off me and he sits back down in defeat

“I would love to go outside but,” I say and he practically brightens up. He stands and holds out his hand for me

“We don’t go too far from the cabin we stay close,” I say grabbing his hand and
