Chapter 45
The alarm was beeping as Damien was groaning around in his bed. It has taken him some time to fall asleep after his gig last night and the possibility of Zack’s reaction to Sam. Perhaps they were not tolerable against each other and Damien did not know about it.
“Okay, I’m up, I’m up,” he mumbled before he was stopping his alarm clock. It was 8 AM and he had to get to Kato Airport to pick up one Anika Regio since she bought the exclusive package. It was Damien’s responsibility to get her from the airport and send her back for her one-week vacation in Paphos. There were some questions that he wanted to ask her about why choosing Paphos as her vacation spot.One: why? “You don’t have to worry! I don’t have any girlfriend and if I have one, that lady will know it,”The statement that left Damien’s lips still lingered in her mind as Anika was trying to look around instead of being aware of the man who was driving her from the airport to Paphos. She should have thought better than taking a male tour guide but what can be done? Anika was looking around the café as it had an ambiance to it. She loved it and hopes for the next few days she will be spending some time here on her own. Not that she didn’t want Damien to be here with her but if he agreed, she would love that as well.“And here we are,” Sam said as she was setting the special brunch meals in front of them. Anika’s eyes bulged at the size of the meal. After patrolling the area with a douchebag of a Gamma, Arthur let Damien to be away from his duty. He was still in his wolf form as he was stalking around the forest that was near the inn where Anika was staying. His wolf was happy to be near his mate and right now, Damien was looking at the bright room that he knew it was Anika’s.‘Where is she?’ his wolf asked Damien as he was looking around. After they had spent some time at the café and making sure that Sam was okay, Anika and Damien left the café to go explore one of the local museums that Damien recommended for Anika. She agreed for she wanted Damien to show her his backyard.“So, you have been here your whole life? Is that correct?” she asked him as they were walking toward the museum as he nodded.“That is right. My father and mother were from Paphos and they gave birth to me here. I was born and raised in Paphos,” he said as they were looking at the children that were running around in the playground. Anika smiled as she tucked her hair behind her ears.“And where are your parents now?” she asked absent-mindedly before she noticed that Damien had stopped. She turned to look at him and there was sorrow in his eyes. She knew that she had made a mistake by asking that personal question.“I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to…I’m sorry. Right at 8 PM, someone was knocking on her door. Anika was smiling before she put on her earrings and took one last look at herself before going to get to the door.“Coming,” she said as she opened the door before she was smiling at Damien who was looking handsome as he was wearing his button shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
