Chapter 33

Diana was looking around the ground at the warriors that were training in the field. It was midnight for the wolves were active at night and it was the best time for them to show their strength and no restraints were required when the humans were awake.

They would not dare to come to the forest in the middle of the night unless they wanted to die.

She was looking for the familiar black hair and green eyes that she would see from a distance amongst the brunette and grey orbs. He stood out like the leader he was for the warriors. Arthur Adamos was certainly fitted for the title of the Gamma of the pack.

Diana sighed before she walked down the field as she was trying to conceal her presence from the warriors. It was hard enough that she was unmated and there were thousands of unmated males on the field. She just didn’t want to get into any trouble in that case.

Except, perhaps, with the Gamma. She shivered at the thought.

Diana knew that she was asking for trouble when she headed out to f

Diana was looking outside the window of her bedroom when she saw that her mother was going out to get some stuff for their house. She sighed before she tried to make sense of anything that Arthur had been saying to her last night.Don’t be ridiculous. He does not know what he is saying. He would not have to tell you anything after all. He likes to bluff and this is all a game to him, she concluded before she was sighing, and then she was looking at the morning light.‘Perhaps I should go for a run,’ she thought before her wolf agreed.‘That would be terrific. It has been a long time since you let me run,’ she said as Diana shook her head.‘I just let you run last week. It was not that a long time ago,’ she said before she opened her balcony as she was taking in the sight in front of her. She smiled before she was feeling the breeze on her skin.‘This is nice,’ she thought before her wolf snarled at her.‘You feel this every day. Can we just hurry up and change? I have been wanting thi

Diana was looking around when she just realized that she was out of the territory that she used to play around. This was not one of them and right now, she was scared. She was in deep trouble as well.“Oh look! A big wolf there. We have to get that for the fur. It must be a lot to catch the price for that fur,” the hunter said before Diana saw that there were people that were coming at them. She was desperate to get out of here but she did not know where she was going.“Come on! It was about to get away from us. Shoot to kill, shoot to kill!” one of the hunters was calling after the others before Diana was running for her life right now. This is the worst nightmare that I ever lived in, she mused before she was going out of the territory. She was running on her four paws and she felt like she would not live to see another day. She just knew it.No more seeing her brother and his new wife.No more seeing of her future niece and nephew.

Was I dreaming? Perhaps I was, Arthur thought as he was tilting his head to the side as he was looking at Diana. She blushed as the warm glow from the fire was heating her face.“I will keep watch and you can bathe then,” Arthur said, finishing the rabbit that they ate before he was about to get up. Then, Diana was tossing the rabbit aside as well. She pulled Arthur by the hand as he turned to look at it.Their hands intertwined before his green eyes were focusing on Diana’s lovely face. She was looking at him and his wolf was roaring inside him at the touch.‘Take her,’‘Claim her,’’Make her ours,′ it purred before Adam was reigning the control that was being torn apart inside him, even when his facial expression said nothing.“Thank you,” Diana said softly as if she was afraid to say it out loud as they were in the cave. The echo can be noisy and attract another predator inside their cave. Not on my watch, Arthur made a snarl

Xavier was looking at the port that he had last stepped in when he made his decision to get out of the island and never to come back. But then, everything changed when his sister was missing and he needed to track her down.As well as Arthur Adamos, the Gamma of the pack. He saw that some of the familiar faces were waiting at the dock before he slid his hand on the lower back of his wife. His mother was standing beside him on the left.“Well, they sure missed you,” his mother said before the ferry made its way to the port before the crew took the anchor and threw it into the water. Then, one of them took the rope and let the planks settle so that the passengers could walk onto the ground. There was nothing much at the port, save for the fishmongers and the other crew that was responsible for the cruise ships or rental boats. Xavier was ushering Stella to the plank as his mother walked down the ferry first and Caleb, the new Alpha of the Shadow Pack, was gr

The next day, Diana was stunned to see that Sam did not keep her mouth shut however when her front yard was full of excited females who were chatting about as she appeared from the entrance.“So…” Diana said as she was pinching her nose bridge, “you’re telling me that you will not have a word about it and suddenly, all these females were training with us?” she asked before Sam was shrugging at her.Seriously, I will skin this woman, sacred Ultima or not, Diana mused before the females were chatting over and the laughter was filling the air. Some of them were too young to be trained but of course, everyone was welcome to train if they wanted to.“Diana!”And now, her mate was here.“Shit,” Sam mumbled under her breath before Diana sighed. So much for training in secret, she mused as she was looking at the angry-looking Gamma that was coming their way. Some of the warriors were looking at the females before some of them were walking toward

The day that Diana was waiting for has finally come. Everyone was busy doing their stuff as Diana was looking at herself in the mirror back in the old house where her mother lived alone.Since Xavier got Stella a new house and away from their mother.Diana was looking at the final alteration that she asked the seamstress to do. Some tiny emeralds were attached to her bodice that reflected the lights when she moved. Diana smiled as the emeralds were the representation of Arthur’s green eyes.If he did not get it, then it was a secret for her to keep.Someone rapped at the door before Sam’s brunette head was pushing through it. She was smiling as Diana turned to look at her maid of honor.“Oh, you look stunning. I did not know that this alteration was better than fur,” Sam gasped as her mouth flew to her mouth. Diana laughed.“At least I would not provoke anyone with it,” she said before she was patting her hair. It was set as a co

‘Ugh! Why do we have to go to this reception that I don’t even want to?’ Arthur said as he was brushing his mouth against Diana’s neck. She smiled before she turned to look at her surroundings. They were in the garden now as the reception took place to celebrate their union today.‘Why? Do you have something else in mind?’ Diana asked before she brushed her hands on his arms. Arthur growled.‘Yes, with you underneath me, writhing for me to release you—’“Nice reception. And congratulations on your wedding. Not that you would need it,” Damien said before he saluted the champagne to them. Diana was repaying the gesture before Arthur’s hand slid around her waist, marking his territory.“And when will we get to attend your wedding, Dam? It’s been a while since you got any interest going on,” Arthur said before Damien laughed.“Well, you know me. I’ve been busy with my touring guide business and it is booming right now. Zack shook his head, trying to diminish the thought of claiming a woman who was not Samantha—his destined, fated mate. Zack howled once more before he took off running down the cliff and went toward the distant, gleaming small town. The run was excellent for his sanity as Zack took in a deep breath. His nostrils picked up the scent of the pine forest as his acute hearing was listening to the cacophony of the darkened forest. Small rodents were running around as owls were screeching against the night. It was a beautiful night with the full moon in sight, clearing the foggy forest by providing small illumination upon the small trail that Zack was trotting on all fours.Zack wished that he had someone by his side that night for it was such a waste that he was alone there in the foggy, darkened pine forest. He wanted Samantha to be there by his side. However, she refused Zack as her mate thus leaving Zack trotting down the small trail alone on his own

After his confrontation with Samantha, Zack was running through the woods. He shifted on the run—as he had been practicing since Zack was eighteen—and tore away all his clothes as Zane snarled in his head.’Foolish girl! How dare she defy us after everything that we had done for the community?!’ Zane growled as Zack ran through the darkened forest. The moon was full as the shadows were weaving through the pine trees. Zack rolled his eyes at Zane’s temperament.’Relax, will you? Everything will come to an end. You’ll see,’ he stated as Zack turned around to run toward the small trail that would lead him back to his sanctuary. The very sanctuary that he had renovated with his mate in mind.’So, you do have a plan after all, little boy. You’re intriguing me to play it cool,’ Zane purred as Zack chuckled softly through their mind link.’Of course and

Samantha was sitting at the table while Marina gave her a cup of hot tea. She smiled, thanking Marina for the gesture. Marina smiled and pushed some biscuits that she put on the plate toward Samantha before she walked up to Caleb. Both of them were whispering at each other. Caleb nodded, whispering into her ear as Marina blushed. She cleared her throat as Caleb smirked, kissing his wife and Marina was out of the main living room.“Now that we settled in, tell me what happened a month ago, Sam,” Caleb asked as his amber eyes were focused on her face. Samantha arched her eyebrow.“A month ago? You need to be more specific than that, Caleb. At what time or any event that I attended a month ago that you are interested in knowing more about?” she asked, sipping her hot tea as Samantha was looking at the ultimate trio. Caleb crossed his arms, frowning before Xavier took over the conversation.“The night of the Folk Festival a month

It had been a few weeks since Samantha had seen her rejected mate, Zack, in the flash. She didn’t know what happened to him after he disappeared into the woods that night during the Folk Festival but she was sure that Zack hadn’t gone home after he took off.How could he be so irresponsible, taking off like that when we’re supposed to be discussing things?! Samantha mused as she was locking the coffee machine into place. Her mood swings had seen better days and she could compare herself to be as brooding as her brother these days.Ugh, I hate it when Isa’s right, she pondered as Samantha bit her lower lip. I mean, how come I was affected by Zack’s disappearance?! He was the one who kissed me and then disappeared into thin air without telling me a word. Okay, frankly speaking, he took off and left me hanging in the dark, Samantha sighed as she took the coffee cups that the customers ordered and Scarlet purred insi

As if sensing her discomfort, Zack smirked, stepping closer as his ocean breeze scent hit Samantha’s nostrils. She took a deep breath, forging his distinctive scent inside her chest for she knew she would never see him again if Zack truly found someone else that saw him for who he was.Where Samantha failed to do so because of her insecurity and fear of what the future might hold if she accepted Zack as her mate.‘But you don’t know if Ian is against it or not. You’re concluding by your judgment, Red,’ Scarlet warned her as Samantha pushed her wolf away from her mind.“I hope you will find her then, Adamos,” Samantha said through her gritted teeth. Her heart was beating fast, feeling the golden opportunity at her once-in-a-lifetime chance at love. However, the stubborn streak inside Samantha was still denying her feelings for him.“Hmm,” Zack replied as his hand squeezed Sama

‘What the hell is wrong with your human friend? Didn’t she read the cues that I don’t want to talk to her?’ Sebastian asked as Samantha shrugged through their mind link.‘I don’t know, brother. Maybe you need to work on your social skills if you wish to keep Isa around, from what I can sense here,’ Samantha taunted him as Sebastian glared at her. Samantha hid her smirk.“Oh! So, you’re Sam’s brother.” Karisa said excitedly as she clapped her hand.“I’ve heard a lot about you from her. I’m not going to lie to you but Sam promised me that she would come with me to this festival. I thought you didn’t come to this kind of festival,” she added as Karisa batted her lashes. Sebastian scoffed at her, posing his brooding mood upon Karisa. However, her best friend ignored him as she smiled sweetly at him. Then, Sebastian turned to lo

Zack couldn’t believe it. The Folk Festival was more lively and chaotic than what he heard when Arthur described it to him. Perhaps, he might need to experience it himself so that Zack can be content with it—and not complain about it later. He was walking around when Zack smelled that elusive strawberry scent that he had been dying to chase. It was not far from where he stood as Zack was looking around.Smirking, Zane purred through their mind link when Zack thought that he wanted to track Samantha down and get some alone time with her. Maybe, Zack could persuade Samantha that their mating bond was not a mistake from the Moon Goddess.‘Mine,’ Zane purred. Zack rolled his eyes at that thought. Seriously, his wolf needed to chill the fuck out so that Zack could concentrate on how to get Samantha to like—and maybe, love—him as her beloved mate until death did them part.’We have to claim her. After she served the violet-eyed customer, Samantha was staring at the counter. She was trying so hard to keep her head away from a certain someone. Someone with sable hair and blue eyes. Zachary Adamos was the reason why Samantha couldn’t concentrate at the moment.Damn him for his charms to fill my head with them! Samantha barked as Scarlet purred.‘I miss him. Don’t you miss him for you remember everything about him?’Scarlet asked as Samantha scowled.“Woah! Who woke you up on the wrong side of the bed today?” Karisa asked, arching her eyebrows as Samantha looked up to her best friend.“Huh? What are you talking about?” Samantha asked as she was stacking the plates on the cabinets. Karisa gestured her hand at her face.“Your face, Sam. It tells me everything without even trying. It’s all gloomy and you’re brooding. You never br

Samantha was looking around the café as the patrons buzzed around in the family-owned café. Then, she turned to look outside the window, staring out into the distance. She saw another lumber delivery from Shadow Pack to the old man Mr. Papadopoulos but she didn’t see her mate—her rejected mate, Zack. She bit her lower lip, knowing fully well that Zack was always the one who made sure the delivery went smoothly and got the money that was equivalent to the quality of the lumber that they delivered. However, that day at that moment, Samantha saw his brother, Arthur the Gamma, was making sure of that happening for the greater good of the pack.“What are you staring at, Sam?” Karisa asked her, curious why her best friend was not focusing on her work. Samantha turned her head, looking at Karisa. She smiled at her best friend as Karisa arched her eyebrow. She was the daughter of Mr. Papadopoulos, the carpenter who m
