Emilia's heart ached as she stood outside Luna's closed bedroom door, the muffled sound of her daughter's sobs echoing through the silence of the house. She longed to comfort Luna, to ease the pain that gripped her daughter's heart, but she knew that words alone would not be enough to mend the divide that had formed between them.

Taking a deep breath, Emilia turned away from Luna's door and made her way back downstairs to where Ryder waited for her, his expression etched with worry and concern.

"Any luck?" Ryder asked, his voice soft with concern as he reached out to gently squeeze Emilia's hand.

Emilia shook her head, her eyes clouded with sadness. "She's refusing to come out of her room," she admitted, her voice catching in her throat. "She's convinced that confronting Malachi is her destiny, and she won't listen to reason."
