Chapter Six

Nick perched his feet on the wicker footstool in front of him and leaned back in his chair until the front legs raised just a bit off the porch floor.  After nearly a century of anger and hurt where his cousin was concerned, he’d finally talked it out.  Admittedly, it took a bit of arguing and threatening before he calmed down enough to listen to what Alfred had to say.  More than once, he was tempted to storm away and forget the whole thing.  Alfred was not only his cousin, but, prior to catching him in bed with Heloise, they were best of friends.  He’d been so angry with him for so long that he’d forgotten how much he enjoyed the man’s company.

After being with Heloise for so long, it shouldn’t have come as such a surprise for Nick to discover she’d fed Alfred an aphrodisiac along with a good deal of brandy to get him into her bed. In his early years, a similar trick was played on Nick by a not so seductive female he’d encountered while soldiering, so he completely understood the power it gave Heloise over Alfred.

He kept a coy watch for Alison while he, Martin, and Alfred caught up on the years that separated them.  For Nick, they stayed apart because of the feud over Alfred’s betrayal with Heloise, for Martin, it was simply a matter of circumstance.  The responsibilities and tasks assigned to shadow walkers could very easily keep them apart for no other reason than they were so very different in both geographical location and theme.

When Vanessa appeared with a six pack of beer in one hand and one of the boxes of pizzas she and Martin fetched in the other, Nick couldn’t contain his disappointment. “Where’s Alison?”

“She’s taking care of a few things in the house,” Vanessa said, warily.  “I expect she’ll be out soon enough.”  After inspecting Alfred with open bluntness, she added, “Maybe she’ll speed things up if you go inside.”

Nick caught the raised brow and amused look on Martin as he observed his lover.  He knew all too well the look of lust on Vanessa’s face.  She was a woman with such an overactive libido, he pitied the man who finally settled down with her.   Knowing Martin as he did, he questioned if he was with Vanessa for the long haul, but, for as long as he was with her, he could handle her.  Vanessa met her match in his cousin.

He watched Alfred eagerly devour a few slices of pizza and wash them down with a cool beer.  Taking a few bites of his own slice.  It tasted odd.  When he stood up to excuse himself, he felt a little heady.  Blaming it on heat of the day, he excused himself and headed into the house to fetch his love. It was unlike her to be so rude and he was determined to find out why.

He found her standing in the living room. Her back was to him, but from where he stood, it looked as if she had her hands beneath her clothes and was massaging body parts that were normally left up to him to tend to. He carefully tiptoed up behind her and slid his large, work calloused hands over her petite, smooth ones. “Let me do that for you.”

Rather than jump in surprise, she leaned back against him, raised her shirt and bra so that her breasts were exposed and undid the zipper of her shorts to give him better access.  His expert ministrations soon brought her the relief she sought. He kept his hand in her pants while he bent her back so that his mouth could consume her beautiful breasts, one by one.

Her soft moans caused his own body to react with an urgency that wouldn’t wait.  Where they’d always managed to make it to the bedroom for modesty’s sake, they threw caution to the wind and slid to the floor.  Within seconds they were both completely naked; ravishing each other’s bodies with their hands and mouths.

Worked into a feverish desire that nothing could stop, neither heard Vanessa enter the house and stand in the doorway. Her eyes opened wide at the sight of Nick’s head planted between Alison’s thighs.  She watched in paralyzed wonder as his strong fingers played with her breasts.   Had Alison’s blue eyes not been closed, she would have seen the spark of desire and lust in her good friend’s large brown ones while her tongue slowly traced the outline of her lips.

Vanessa was unsure what to do.  She felt heady; as if the world around her was surreal. Her body was rapidly responding to the sight before her.  She knew she should leave without making a sound, but the sight of Nick’s tight ass, muscular body, and thick, bulging rod that looked ready to explode if it didn’t enter Alison soon had her mesmerized.  Her body ached with want for the same attention her best friend was receiving. The temptation to join them was intense.

When Alison’s hips rose toward the ceiling of their own accord while she reached her peak of passion and Nick seized that exact moment to slam his manhood deep into her with one quick thrust, Vanessa’s legs went weak.

Then, just as quickly as she’d succumbed to the lust of watching two beautiful bodies coupling, the lust was replaced with wonder. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn’t seeing things.  Not only were both Nick and Alison glowing, but their bodies were raised off the floor.  Nick was pumping into Alison with such speed and aggression as to cause sparks to fly around them.

“It’s a beautiful sight, isn’t it?” Martin whispered in her ear.

“What’s happening?” Vanessa asked without tearing her eyes from the couple in front of her.

“He’s giving her a taste of what it will feel like going into shadow land,” Martin replied. “It hurts like hell while feeling fantastic at the same time when you first start doing it.”

“It looks like he might tear her in half,” Vanessa gasped.

“He is rather well endowed,” Martin mused.  “Alison’s so petite, she doesn’t look like she can handle someone like Nick, but, as you can see, that’s not the case.”

Guilt over their voyeurism finally overtook Vanessa. “We probably shouldn’t be watching this.”

“I assure you that they are in a space right now where they could care less who sees them,” Alfred said as he stepped up behind them. “Damn, she’s got a nice body.  Why is it that Nick always gets the girls with great bodies?”

“Not just Nick,” Martin said with a grin as he wrapped his arm around Vanessa’s waist and pulled her back against him.

Vanessa felt as if she was floating as she leaned her head against Martin’s chest. Her   body pulsed with sexual energy in synchrony with Nick’s powerful thrusts. “What was in that pizza?” She said, half-seriously, as she pushed her backside against Martin’s groin.  She could feel his manhood.

“If I didn’t know better, I’d say it was some kind of aphrodisiac,” Martin whispered as he slid his hand high enough on her waist to allow his thumb to tease her bra encumbered nipple.

“I’m either going to have to join them or go find myself someone to make merry with,” Alfred said with a breathy moan. “Are you up to sharing what you have?”

Martin pulled Vanessa from the scene and into the kitchen.  She clung to him while she looked at Alfred. “This has never happened before.  Alison is really quite modest.”

“Nick’s no exhibitionist,” Martin added. “It does give cause to wonder.”

“But, the pizza?” Vanessa said. “Seriously?”

Alfred chuckled.  “Now that I’m here, you’ll see some changes.” He looked directly at Martin.  “There was a jolt of energy so strong between Alison and me when she shook my hand that I question if I’m not the one she’s supposed to be with.”

Martin’s foggy mind did it’s best to concentrate on what his cousin was saying.  “Did you see that aura around them?  That only occurs between bonded couples.  How could you have a jolt when she’s bonded to Nick?”

“That’s just it,” Alfred said as beads of sweat coated his brow. “She’s bonded to the family, not to Nick. Not yet, anyway.  Shit, I can smell her sex and I’m going to go crazy.  I need to do something to calm down before I go in there and kick Nick off her so that I can get my own relief.”

“That would be a bad move, cousin,” Martin mused.

“That would be a sick and crazy move,” Vanessa said with disgust as she continued to press against Martin.

Alfred devoured Vanessa’s luscious curves. “Seriously, cousin.  Feel like sharing?”

Martin slipped his hand beneath Vanessa’s shirt and cupped her breast. “It’s up to the lady.”

Vanessa squirmed with desire from his touch while she contemplated his suggestion.  She was both shocked and hurt by the mere thought that he’d be willing to share her, yet curious about what it would be like, since she’d never considered such a thing before.  There was also the fact that Alfred wasn’t the only one whose body felt as if it would explode if it didn’t get relief soon and she sensed the same was happening to Martin.

The odd taste of the suspicious pizza still lingered on Martin as his tongue explored the cavity of her mouth in such a sensual way that she felt as if she’d entered a surreal world of erotic promiscuity.  Her head grew light as the world became more dreamlike while her lover kissed her long and hard; sliding her shirt high enough to expose her abundant, tethered breasts.

Martin chuckled seductively as he slid his hand around the back of her bra to unfasten it and then slid the bra over her soft mounds to expose her hardened nipples. With the crook of his index finger, he signaled for Alfred to join him.  A sigh of relief escaped his lips as Alfred moved forward with the stealth of a cat, letting out a husky moan as his lips possessed her engorged nipple like a hungry baby latching onto his mother’s teat.

Vanessa was only mildly aware of the fact that she had two men possessing her body. Somewhere in the back of her mind she yelled for it to stop before things went too far, but the words couldn’t get to her vocal cords.  Instead, she surrendered to their ministrations.

She’d never been with two men before and she wasn’t comfortable with the concept, yet her body continued to surrender.  Hurt that she meant so little to Martin that he would share her with Alfred crept into that part of her mind that kept screaming how wrong it was to allow them both to have access to her body in such a way, but it wasn’t strong enough to overpower the dynamic urge to ravage and be ravaged.  She was soon abandoning all inhibitions and giving as good as she got.

As with the lovers they’d witnessed on the living room floor, they possessed her with a fury.  As time passed and their fury didn’t cease, her body began to feel the effects of their intense usage of it.  She felt as if she was going to be rutted in half.  Her breasts were raw and felt as if they might be torn off from the tugging, needing, and suckling. Yet, she moaned and asked for more. She even went so far as to encourage them while they took turns entering her fully.

As her body became sexually satiated, the tiny voice in the back of her head telling her that what was happening was wrong could be heard once again.  But, it was still not loud enough to overpower the sensation that drove her to continue.

What had gotten into her?Nick was preparing to pull out of her when she whispered, “I don’t know what happened. Something’s wrong. It’s just that when I saw you and Alison rutting on the living room floor, something came over me. It was like a button was pushed and I lost control. It didn’t even feel like me. It was as if I was outside my body and only vaguely aware of what was happening. The driving force was to quench the insatiable horniness that overtook me. Nick paced the guest house porch. It was a week since he’d been kicked out of Alison’s house and she’d yet to speak to him, let alone allow him near her. He’d spent his days in the garden and maintaining the grounds, but the pouring rain forced him to take time off. He had a few things he could tend to inside the main house, but not if he couldn’t get past the door. He could force his way in or even use the key he had, but it would only push Alison further away.He couldn’t explain why he just stood and stared at the scene before him when he found Martin and Alfred with Vanessa. He’d given it a lot of thought. The only thing he could come up with was that he was in shock. He knew Martin to be a bit of a player when it came to women. Alfred could be rather promiscuous as well. They may have even participated in a few ménage à trois in their long lifetimes. They were, a

Shadow walkers have the ability to see in the dark far easier than a mundane can. Even so, they don’t have supernatural vision like the heroes of folklore and fairy tales. Shadow walkers have a strength superior to most mundanes, but, again, it isn’t super hero strength. Their hearing is better than a mundane’s hearing, but it couldn’t be called supernatural. These were facts that Nick lamented over while he sat in darkness that could only be described as pitch black.Had he not been bound with his hands behind his back for so long that he’d lost circulation in them and could barely feel their presence, he’d have felt his environment to help assess his whereabouts. The air was damp and the surface a cold stone, which led him to believe he was in a basement. He recalled the basement he and his friends rescued Martin from not that long ago. He wondered if it was the same group of shadow walker hunters who’d

As if Alfred had somehow been a fly on the wall during their conversation about receiving flowers, Vanessa’s remained roses, with only their color altering, while Alison received a variance of bouquets. Each one bigger and better than the one before it.She carried the flowers into the kitchen, set them down on the counter, and went to the butler’s pantry to rummage for more vases. “I wonder how long he’s going to keep this up. We’re running out of vases.”Vanessa leaned her elbow on the counter while she fondled the velvety pink rose buds. “As far as I’m concerned, he need never stop. I’ll just go buy more vases.”“The house smells really good,” Alison said with a gleam in her eye.&

They’d discussed it briefly when they first saw each other in shadow land, but nothing was said since. Could she be that damaged? Her thoughts shifted to Alfred and Heloise. She’d learned that Heloise escaped the prison with magic and there was fear that she’d return for Alfred and take him using the same method. The elders were fervently working to decipher what type of magic Heloise used so that, should she return to free Alfred, they’d be ready for her. Not only did they intend to stop her from freeing him, but they planned on recapturing her as well. Once back in custody, steps would be taken to bind her that should have been taken in the first place. The sound of the door opening caught her attention. The dark side of shadow land should have rightfully been called the pits of hell. Not only was the atmosphere uncomfortably close and hot, but the lighting was dim and dingy, and the place was absolutely filthy. They quickly ascertained that they were too clean and too well dressed, so they adjusted their clothes and hair to better fit in.Time on the shadow side of the veil was measured differently than it was on the mundane side. It moved at a slower pace; which was why the shadow walkers were able to accomplish so much in what the mundanes considered a short amount of time. Had they been on the mundane side measuring time, they would have searched for Vanessa’s whereabouts for only a day before finding her. As it was, on the shadow side, it was the better part of a week.Their cover story was that they were recent converts to the dark side of shadow land and were still learning their way around. The searing pain right down into his bones was far greater than Martin could have ever imagined. He didn’t know what to do to relieve it. It hurt to stand. It hurt to sit. It hurt to lie down. He wanted to scream the pain away but feared appearing weak in front of the king; especially since Nick was behaving in such a damnable stoic manner. What Martin didn’t realize was that Nick was in so much pain he was practically frozen by it. He couldn’t get his ribcage to work well enough to take in the amount of air that was needed to operate his vocal cords enough to protest the situation. As terrible as it was being cramped and clamped to the wall while a hostage, he’d much rather be there than going through the trauma his body was experiencing after being pulled from the mundane side of the veil to shadow land. It wasn’t as cruel and harsh as one would expect from a hunter who was simply waiting for him to leave his body on the new moon, so it could be destroyed before he returned. Hunters had a sick way of thinking that, since the body was empty of the spirit because it was in shadow land, they weren’t committing murder by destroying it.
