**VITO’S POV**Taking my last steps through the empty mansion, my footsteps echoed. Everyone had moved out on my orders, and the only reason I was here now was to leave some clue behind for Juno to be able to find us.Walking into her room I could still smell her Cologne this was my first time coming in here. Chuckling, it was exactly what I expected it to be, bare with little to no presence in here. It made me think of how she had been living back at her parents' place.I thought of the way she had fit in here easily with me and the guys, I could see the evident efforts she put in to blend with the guards and how she handled herself, letting it bring a smile to my face. Taking a walk towards the window, an idea struck me. Juno in her spare time, liked to take walks in the garden, she would usually just sit right in front of the roses and watch them. It was such a sight that always brought a smile to my face because the garden was close to my office window, and I always got to take
**VITO'S POV** Continued…Waiting impatiently for the said call, I decided to make myself a quick drink to calm my nerves. Settling down with my drink and taking a few sips, the phone began ringing.Motioning for these two beside me to come closer, I picked up the call and I was immediately welcomed by two irritating pair of eyes, Corentin and Hugo."Mr. Costello, I'm sure you know what this is about?" Corentin stated and I nodded."You have one of mine and you want something in exchange for her," I said straightforwardly."Well, Mr. Raphael Genovese already offered a beefy price for the girl…although I'm a little curious as to why…but I'm sure you could present something with a grand difference, no?" Corentin said without shame and I just raised a brow."And how did you come to that conclusion?" I asked, and I could tell Corentin didn't expect me to object or be laid back about what he said as he was silent for a moment.“For starters…you don't want your wife back?"Wait...WIFE???Oh
This was the most beautiful building I had ever set eyes on. It was so huge!I felt so out of place walking the little path to the main door. As I made a move to find my way in, I noticed that someone was already on their way to help me out."Miss Costello, we've been expecting you… right this way please,” a young man said as he opened the door for me, leading me in.I still had to get used to my new name. It felt so foreign to me."Thanks..." I said as he led the way.Taking me down the halls, I only could admire how majestic this place was. I was so sure I could see sparkles judging from how clean this place was too. On getting to the elevator, he ushered me in and pressed a couple of buttons. We were going to the third floor and It didn't take us long to get there. Stepping out, he directed me to a large door saying “You stop ma’am” Then he bowed and left.Knocking on the door I waited for a response but received none so I made my way in.The first thing I was welcomed with was a
**The Blue Dragons Den**The guards all stood in fear with their heads bowed down as their boss Paul Corentin paced up and down the small space they managed to acquire due to their declining funds."How the hell did she get out? How?? I gave out instructions and you couldn't stick with them?” He yelled at the top of his voice."We did Sir…we followed your instructions…We don't know how all this happened" One of the head guards answered with uncertainty evident in his quivering voice, clearly not knowing how else to handle their present predicament."Kim! What the hell happened there?" Corentin asked, turning to face the girl who had been tight-lipped this entire time.“I…I…don't know boss, when I got in Dion Genovese was unconscious and his sister told me that he had tripped and hit his head while entering the room. She had her brother's gun and turned it on me, demanding that I release her" she made clear and the next thing she knew, she was struggling to breathe as Corentin wrapped
**Days Later**Laying in bed, I could swear I was fast asleep but sounds of muffled talking kept drifting in and out of my hearing. Slightly cracking my eyes open, I noticed it was already morning as I could see the rays of light seeping through the curtains. The voice became more audible now because it seemed the owner of the voice was standing right outside my door."Yes exactly, you can decide on the location and the restaurant, I get to pick out the menu… it's gonna be pretty basic food actually, my friend isn't used to fancy meals" I heard Vito say, chuckling at whatever was said by the person on the other end after which he became quiet.Debating with myself for a moment, I wasn't sure if I wanted to get up yet or not but I knew I didn't have much of a choice, I had work to attend to. Sighing, I slowly sat up and stretched a bit, yawning widely because I still felt very sleepy. Checking my bedside clock, It was almost half past ten, and I wished I could just lay back down for a
Walking into the restaurant, we were welcomed warmly by a hostess who asked Vito a few questions before directing us to our table."Vito!" A shrill voice called out. Turning towards the direction of the voice was a young lady and a man sitting. She was one of the prettiest women that I've ever seen. Her blond hair was full and long, longer than I'd seen on some women, and I wondered how she managed it when it was so long. The woman happily got up upon seeing us approach the table.Watching her, I noticed her eyes were only on Vito and they seemed to shine with joy at the sight of him."Coralie, It's nice to see you again," Vito said, giving the lady a short hug.“Hey, man!!!” The man by her side said pulling Vito into a big hug which he in turn squeezed tighter.Taking in his appearance, he looked similar to the young lady beside him, exact blond hair which was in a man bun."It's been so long Bastien, good of you to grace me with your presence,” Vito said, pulling away.“Oh common…
Dragging my feet trying to keep awake, it was very early in the morning but I couldn't complain because today was a big day and I was woken up and guided by Vito personally to get myself ready. He had seemingly sent a message to Corentin handing him a chance to repent and apologize for his mischief, give us the information we want on Lucas's death, return whatever he extorted from other groups, and break up Blue Dragon immediately and without uproar.Watching Vito lead his people this way was different for me. It was kind of hard for me to believe that Vito was a mafia boss, he was acting like a peacemaker of some sort. He was in a position where others looked up to him and to keep up his actions with other groups, I guess this was a path to follow, as not everything had to end up in violence. But because these were the Blue Dragons, this definitely won't go down without a fight. All these made me think of the household I grew up in, and how issues were handled differently. Violence
Standing here, all I could think about was how my father had to stoop so low to this level, and for what? What exactly was he trying to get or achieve?I just couldn't believe that my father asked people like this to get me back, it just showed how lazy and shameless they were. If they wanted me back, why didn't they come and get me themselves? Well, there's no way in hell I would go back anyway so violence unfortunately has to be the only solution at this point.Unexpectedly I felt Vito grab my hand dragging me out of my thoughts, Wait…what? Was he going to trade me in?Turning to him with sudden fear and shock in my eyes, I couldn't believe this was going to happen. I trusted him. How was I going to defend myself? I wasn't prepared."Tsk…tsk…Paul Corentin, You just don't get it…do you? I've already told you, I'm only going to pull back from this under the conditions I've set up. Handing Juno over is not one of them and never will be" Vito stated, interlocking our fingers as he spoke
