Serenity’s laugh echoed across the van, something that made the tension even more palpable than it already is.
“Fuck, how are you awake?!”
The boss tapped on the chair to get their attention. “Hush! Let her be. She has nowhere else to go anyway.”
“You should tell yourself that.”
Their gazes shifted to Serenity as she relaxed in her seat, unbothered by the creepy atmosphere that had engulfed the van. Despite being in such a dangerous situation, she had the guts to be as laid back as she is at the moment. She was calm even as she was carried out of the van, almost getting dragged towards the mansion.
he could grab her.
“Damn, you’re fast…”
It was a voice that was annoyingly familiar to him. And just before he could put his guard up again, he’d already lost the treasure he had dug for himself. Now, he’s fallen into the pit that the treasure was supposed to be in, almost enough to bury him alive.
They were all spiteful towards each other, yet none of them desired to celebrate their little reunion. The man who wore a uniform with the Lopez Inc. logo started to walk backwards as he took great care of the almost passed out daughter of the Lopez family.
“You’re such a handful, Serenity. Now, how am I supposed to take you home without causing a commotion?”
“Vince, it’s you…”
The man, surprised that the woman he was carrying had recognized him only through his voice, halted from running. “How did you recognize me, drunk and dazed?”
“So it is you.” Serenity giggled as she clung even harder to the man’s neck. “You saved my sorry ass again.”
“Serenity…” Vince warned.
“I’ve been waiting, you know. You’re aware of how impatient I am, are you not?”
It was a conversation that only the two of them could understand, with them being well-acquainted from the shadows of the Lopez family. And of course, for a reason only known to the two. Almost as if it was a secret language that could only be spoken by either of them.
Who might this Vince person be, you ask? Only one person can answer such a question. Serenity Lopez, his very owner, can.
“Are you unaware of how dangerous that move was? All so you could lure me out? How cunning of you.”
“Blah blah…” Serenity teased.
“Hey—”
“That was not part of the plan, darling. You know that’s not how I fucking roll.”
Vince snickered as he put her down and gently pushed her inside his car. “So were you using that man from earlier, then? Your mind’s twisted as fuck.”
Serenity chuckled as she watched Vince enter the car. “I know, I know. And you’re gonna say my name’s the exact opposite of my personality, am I right?”
“You’re right. You always are.”
“Great. Now, take me to your—”
Their conversation was cut short by a call from the phone on the dashboard. Serenity, suspicious of it, quickly threw the phone at the man seated in the driver’s seat.
Having seen the name on the caller ID, the atmosphere tensed. Sephiro Lopez. Of course, the man who has his eyes everywhere had already gotten wind of what happened from Serenity’s shenanigans.
“Listen well, missy…” Vince smirked at Serenity as he answered the call.
“Where’s Serenity?”
“Right beside me, Sir.”
“Take her back to me first thing in the morning. Let her stay at your place in the meantime.”
Both, confused, replied in unison. “Sir?” / “Dad?”
“Things are getting out of hand. I’ll settle things in the meantime. Don’t let my daughter out of your sight, Salvador.”
Before either of them could ask any further, the call had already ended. A moment of silence passed before Vince started the engine and drove back to his penthouse.
Serenity knows how dire the situation is. Both of them are very aware. But how could she pass up an opportunity to get Vince to go down on his knees for her?
She is insane. At least that’s what Vince says, contrary to how others see the sweet and pure Serenity Lopez.
“Vince…”
“No. Ser—”
“I called your name. Come here.”
The man could only grit his teeth as he approached Serenity, who was seated like a princess on his couch. From there on, he already knows what he’s supposed to do.
Vincentius Lionel Salvador, an esteemed man who was the right hand of the head of the Lopez family, was feared by everyone who knew of his deeds. He’s a man of great pride.
He really is.
And yet Serenity Lopez has him wrapped around her palm. A word is all it takes for her to have him kneeling down before her, prepared to do everything she says.
Why?
Neither of them knows. Perhaps Serenity had poisoned Vince’s mind. Or was he the one who poisoned himself?
But at this point…
“Come here…” Serenity whispered.
With that, Vince leaned in, his hands landing on Serenity’s sides. “Fuck, Serenity. What the hell do you want from me?”
She chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Everything, Vince. I want your everything.”
“I’ll give you what you want. Just…” He sighed as he trailed his fingers across the red marks all over Serenity’s neck and chest.
“This is why I told you not to deny me. Are we clear about our rules now?”
“Yes…”
Sighing heavily, he buries his face on her neck as he drowned in Serenity’s embrace. She doesn’t force him, she never did. It was a choice Vince has etched in his very being since the day he swore his loyalty to them. To her.
“My love, what have you done to me? It’s as if your very embrace has shackled me to you.”
“You don’t regret me, do you?” Serenity asked as she looked down at the Vince that knelt before her, the Vince whose trembling hands laid atop her thighs in agony. “Answer me, Vince.”
“How could you be so nonchalant at this moment, Serene?”
“And whoever gave you permission to be casual with me?
Serenity is a cruel woman. That’s what Vince came to learn about his once childhood friend, and now boss, who pushed him around whenever she liked. She doesn’t care about him in the least.
Or so he thinks.
Because to Serenity, her obsession with Vince is the only thing that brings excitement to her dull life. Even when she’s always face to face with death, she finds it oh-so-boring.
Oh, the lengths Serenity Lopez would go through just to pull Vince back to where she is. And she knows damn well she’s about to get what she wants by the moment she meets her father. Of course, she wanted him to tie Vince to her.
And she’s going to get exactly what she wants by hook or by crook.
“Just…tell me what you want.”
Serenity sighs. “You should know by now, Vincentius.”
Was Serene always this cruel? That was the only thing going on inside Vince’s mind as he gently caressed her bare skin.
“Come here,” Serenity commands as she pulls him up.
Vince sighed as he peppered her neck with feathery kisses. “Do I have permission now? Fuck, Serene, I can’t take this anymore.”
She chuckles under her breath. “Mm-hmm. You may do as you please now. I’m done with my games.”
He whispers thanks to whoever put Serenity in a good mood, unaware that it’s a feat he’d achieved himself. After all, they are both very aware of how Vince is the only person who could ever please Serenity in a way she desires.
“Ngh…” she whined as she grabbed a handful of his hair, already burning as he roughly pulled her skim dress down. “Did it rip?”
“No…”
“Why are you being rough—Ah!”
Serenity covered her mouth to suppress her moans, afraid it’d make Vince realize how much she’d been craving his touch. All he’s been doing is leaving his marks on her bare skin, after all.
She could feel him smirk against her nipples as he sucked on it, his tongue swirling around it as he savored its softness. Vince was taking his time with her breasts, taking one into his mouth while the other squeezed it, trapping her nipple in between two fingers.
“Fuck, Vince…” she complained. “Put your fucking fingers to more use—Ohh! At least…warn me—hngh…”
“I was merely granting your wish,” he replied cheekily as he pushed three whole fingers inside her.
Serenity dug her claws into Vince’s shoulder, eyes dilating at the unexpected entry. “Fuck you! You didn’t even pre-”
“I thought Hiro Vergara prepped you up already,” Vince remarked as he slowly pulled his fingers out, only to harshly push them in again as he curled them up at her entrance.
“Why would I let him?! Ohh! Vince, oh my gosh—”
“All these fucking marks on you…”
Serenity smirked despite being in a delirious state from Vince’s fingers. “Jealous now? That’s what you get for ghosting me—Ahh!”
“You may be able to control me at your whim, but don’t forget who’s going to fuck you senseless tonight.”
“Oh, honey…” Serenity giggled as she pulled Vince by his neck. “Let’s see what you can do, then.”
Vince clenched his jaw as he harshly pulled his fingers out of Serenity, making her moan let out a strangled cry. The latter ground her legs at his knee, hoping he’d take charge once again.
“Why didn’t you let me cum?” Serenity cried as she held Vince’s hand and took his fingers on her mouth. “Please just fuck me! You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting—”
Before Serenity could even complain further about how Vince was making her wait so long, she already felt his fingers inside her again. She couldn’t understand why he was stopping when she was already there, but she was too lost in the heat to care.

Lost.If there’s one thing that could describe the predicament Vince is in right now, it’s probably the word lost. Despite looking tough and impassive on the outside, he has lots of things to worry about. The things he didn’t want to think of while he sought solace in Serenity’s embrace. Something that’s become implausible. The weight of it all, the responsibilities, his pledge of loyalty, and his own personal whims had dragged him down the depths of his own hell.He sighed as he buried his face on Serenity’s chest, listening to the steady rhythm of her beating heart, a melody he could listen to for the rest of his life. It was as if he was being lulled to sleep by said melody, yet he still couldn’t bring himself to do so.
“You don’t have to look at other women anymore, Vince. I’ll give you everything. Just…don’t…”Serenity, likely drunk out of her mind, was set on touching herself to get Vince to pay attention to her…and only her. Her hands were slowly trailing across her chest, going down…until Vince held her wrists to stop her.Even as she pressed her body down on his as his body reacted to her warmth, Vince shook his head at her. With that, the tears she was holding back streamed down her face continuously as her hands dropped to her sides. Disappointment was written all over her face, her mouth opening to ask why…yet no words were coming out.His heart ached uncontrollably at the sight of his Serene crying. Something within him was boiling— the rage he directed at himself. The thought of his Serene, his Aia, objectifying herself to make him stay…was enough to destroy him deep within his core.“Why—” He stopped when his voice cracked as he failed to control his emotions. “Wha- I don’t get it, Serene
“Did you really have no woman? Like, maybe someone you've had some sort of relationship with?”“Other than you?”Serenity sighed, nodding. “Other than me.”“No, why?”Serenity felt something she didn’t want to feel from within her, then looked away. “Nothing.”She couldn’t understand why Vince’s camera would have a picture of someone she doesn’t know, but even if she wants to ignore it, there’s no way she can. She’s never seen that person, and Vince swears to have never been with a woman besides her, ever.If that’s the case, then who was that? Serenity didn’t want it to bother her, but no matter where she looked at it, it was just too strange for her.“You cooked?” Vince asked as he came down, a small towel still on his wet hair.“Yeah. Sit down,” she replied in a monotone as she served the food.“That looks good, babe.”“Babe?” Serenity spat sarcastically, almost too much that it surprised Vince. “Ah, sorry.”“My bad…” he trailed off as he helped her with the food. The two sat toget
Even after hearing Vince’s response, Serenity didn’t know what to say or do. Sincerity was evident on his face, but the latter was filled with fear and distrust. A part of her wished she had not asked, but she knew her entirety wanted to at least hear Vince out.But the real question is…What are we, really? It’s the biggest question both Serenity and Vince have had. Yet it was also the scariest.Answering it means two things— it’d either spell out the end of whatever they have or they’d have to take another big risk. If they were asked to choose, then they’d rather not…for now. After a good talk, the two sat in s
“Who knows? Maybe I’ll make you mine instead.”Serenity chuckled at what Vince said. “You can’t do that.”“What makes you say so?”“Someone like you would rather get shot in the head than disobey the people you owe. That’s just how you are.”Vince couldn’t say anything back because he knew she was right. They’ve both reiterated many times over that Serenity has already memorized it. But the former never took her words seriously with a mindset that there was no point in brooding over them.Serenity’s lips formed a pout as she quietly followed him into the deepest parts of the forest. The two ventured deeper into the heart of the island, and the scenery surrounding them slowly changed. The towering trees she always noticed when she stood on the balcony were now surrounding them, with them forming a natural canopy that filtered the scorching sunlight. Serenity, as always, was fascinated by them as she looked around to see the patterns they created. She’s always adored the sea, falling in
It was that night. The first time they came to the Lopez manor in the Philippines, with Serenity drunk out of her mind after being thrown halfway across the globe to hide from their pursuers. “Hey! You’re leaving me here, seriously?” Serenity whined as she tugged on Vince’s jacket. “Serene, let go. I can’t stay here.” Instead of letting his jacket go, she pulled him in closer and forced him to sit with her on the couch. As usual, the two of them are left by themselves inside Serenity’s room. The only person that’s ever been allowed to be that close to the heiress of the Lopez clown is him, Vincentius Salvador. Sighing deeply, Vince tried to gently get her hands off his chest. Except a drunk-out-of-her-mind Serenity would never give up. Is she really drunk, though? Or is it a mere excuse to get someone to stay with her on a cold, cold night? Vince doesn’t know, but how could he leave such a vulnerable Serenity, her emotions laid bare, all alone? That would make him an unreliable ch
