The BBQ party is still alive and well; the men are surrounding the grill, talking about men's stuff, and the ladies are in their own space doing the same thing, especially since the two of them are close to giving birth. The children are in the sandbox with the elderly guardians watching over them.

My eyes roamed around, trying to look for that person. Since the time I arrived, he was nowhere to be found.

"Looking for someone?"

My heart almost jumps at the sound of Effie by my side.

"No," taking a sip of my drink and lying. "Just being precautious." The two men were standing next to Rex at the grill, and my eyes landed on the two men at the grill.

They look familiar. Judging by how they act, I smell trouble coming from them once they look at me.

"Seth went out to buy more ice."

"Okay," sounding nonchalant, like I'm looking for him. But my eyes were on those men.

"Anyways, you don't need to be on the job, Terry."

"It's a habit," I tell her and look over at Persephone, who has little Za

The kiss was hot and heavy; I had never kissed anyone before but with Seth's lips; he had experienced a lot, and just thinking about him with other girls made me agitated. I pull him closer, making our bodies touch. His hands snake around my waist, and I feel a tingle. His lips were soft, and I craved more as our tongues intertwined."I don't find you repulsive, Terry, "Seth whispers in our kiss. "Otherwise, we wouldn't be kissing."I didn't respond but continued to kiss him because the drug inside was still active, and I needed fifty percent of it out before things between Seth and me got out of hand. If this does involve removing our clothes, I'm afraid Seth will find out I'm a woman.A bit sober, I pull apart, and we both mimic each other's breathing. Looking at each different eye, he is hungry for more, but behind those, I remember what he said: his eyes were genuine. He doesn't see me as a freak. I'm not disgusting to him. The way he responds to my kiss means there is something t

It was easy to look for those two lackeys. After Kendall pinned me on the location, everyone in the house was asleep. I ensured Persephone had fallen asleep before driving to the bar nearby.I pretend to grab a midnight drink when I spot the two Order lackeys laughing and making out at the corner with women on their laps.I wanted to puke, but I had to be sure they were drunk before I got the chance to grab them. I made eye contact with the women on their laps. They nod their heads as I mimic in response. Although it disgusts me that they are with some random women, these women aren't ordinary people.Odin owns The Daggers, a group of secret agents that my team and I belong to, along with others. We are different from other agents because Odin himself chooses us.We are trained harsher and more fiercely because we are licensed to kill on contact without anyone realizing we exist.Sasha and Teagan are part of the Daggers, and I had asked them for this favor to get the Order men lackeys

Grab the bucket of water and throw it at the two lackeys for them to wake up. They woke up instantly, confused and unaware of where and why they were tied up."The fuck!" Lou spat, shaking his head."What the fuck happened?" Eddie spits water out, and then his eyes glare at me. "You?"I glance down at my water and cross my arms. "Glad you guys woke up from your beauty sleep."Eddie snarled at me. "You splash water on us. Why are we tied up?" He struggled but wouldn't budge since they were both straps with steel cuffs. It can only be opened if you know the code."Oh, fuck," Lou sniffs around. "Shit, Frankie, you smell like piss."Eddie stuck his nose, sniffed his surroundings, and made a sour face. "Did you fucker pour piss on us?"I grin. "Well, it's not mine if that's what you think. Think of the curtsy from the bar manager for causing a ruckus and being so touchy with the ladies.""Those ladies are with you?" Frankie screeched to the point.Female laughter and giggles approach behin

This has been more awkward than before. Two weeks have passed since I almost violated Seth because of the drug and killed those two Order lackeys. That night, I drove to the agency and the gym to blow off steam.I knew my life as a hitman wouldn't be easy, especially for those who entered my life were important people.I hear noise from the men as they gather, talking. I pull my sunglasses slightly down for my eyes to see as I glance at where Seth and the men are. I observe his naked chest as it flexes every time he moves. His bare chest was visible to my naked eyes, and I couldn't help but stare at them. He and his brothers probably worked together; otherwise, they wouldn't resemble Chip N' Dales from Las Vegas. All they are missing are the neck bow ties and speedos. My whole body started to shake, and my breathing was panting; picking Seth with a bow tie and speedo and an oily body made me think dirty thoughts. Every inch of my body starts to heat up, not because of this warm weathe

"Oh my god, Terry," Jordan spoke out. "That was badass. The way you handle that. Wow!" "Not only that, you showed that female employee and small manager who's boss," Thea adds. I smile with a hint of blush. Persephone appears by my side, holding Zara. "I don't understand; what the hell was going on?" Ask Ares, who he and the other boys don't know what's happened. "All that woman did was ask our order?" "Ares, we're you hit in the head with a rock," Jordan spat out. "That female employer, Paula, was hitting on you." "She was?" He pulls on a goofy grin. "Ugh! You aren't the only one she hit on. She was trying to get to the package deal with you men," she huffed and planted her hands on her hips. "She was trying to get gang banged." "Jo!" Thea screeched, covering the ears of her son. Lily, Claire, and Sam did the same. Persephone covered Zara's ears at the same time I covered hers. "Children are present." "I'm sorry, but that bitch had it coming." Her arms were now crossed over he

I stayed in my room for the past two days, and this vacation is slowing down time. I allowed Persephone to go with Effie and enjoy a water park close to the resort, another of Odin's projects called the Seven Seas Water Park. He wanted to match the Trident Resort.I didn't go because knowing everyone was going meant Seth would be there. This is a family vacation with the Reids plus friends. It would be more awkward between Seth and me if I were to go. And now that his brothers seem to misunderstand, they will tease him, and I don't want to add more oil to their jokes when I'm around. The last thing I want for Seth is to be embarrassed.Last night, Kendall sent me a confidential file on Persephone's DNA. I didn't get the chance to open it because of my emotional breakdown, so I used an excuse to stay behind and not be charmed by Effie's art of persuasion, which finally won over her.I am sitting on the couch and opening up my laptop. I open up my email and click on the latest message.

"Why do you keep staring at me?" Ask Persephone once she takes a bite of her Belgium waffle, chewing like a rabbit.I giggle, thinking how adorable she looks like a chipmunk."You're acting weird."I wasn't concerned about her calling me weird, but it only made me smile and giggle. After I learned, my daughter has been with me the whole time. Alive and well, I couldn't help but smile. Last night, I couldn't sleep because of the sudden news Persephone is my daughter. At first, I didn't want to believe it and went out to clear my head until the sun rose. I thought about what Odin had said to me and to give me time to prepare mentally. It is still quite a shock, but she's my daughter. I'm new to parenting and will learn throughout the process, but I can't tell her she's my child. I am still waiting for the right moment. I want to spend time with her and get to know her. I can not believe meeting my daughter after thirteen years can be overwhelming and nerve-wracking. What can we talk ab

Earlier during the drive here, I saw he looked pale. Is he okay?"For being ignorant, he still worries for me. I couldn't help but smile inside. I thought he would ignore me forever after what happened. The windows shattered as we entered the penthouse. I fell off Little Gunnar, pulled my gun from my holster, and aimed at Eva, the only one not bothered by our sudden entrance. The mayor, his two guards, and Pete hide from the impact."Get up," I grit through my teeth. Eva did not listen or move but sipped her cup of water. Not even caring, I charge toward her and grab her by the color of her red jacket with a gun to her head, "Are you deaf? I said get up." I snarl and shove her,"Who are you?" the mayor, Jimmy Murphy, called out as he emerged from the couch. "What is the meaning of this?"Unaware of what Eva had planned, he wasn't expecting her visit."My name is Sparrow, Mayor Murphy. I work for The Daggers under the leader and owner, Odin King. I can explain later and have the window fixed, but stay away from this woman," I say, pointing the gun at her head."What are you talking about?" He paused and looked at me. He seemed perplexed. It's a race against time, and I feel my body fighting against the virus. I checked my watch as many times as possible, just watching the numbers on the seconds go down in a flash. The whole purpose of this virus is to give Eva the advantage of being a savior once she reveals that she has a cure. But also to prove that she is someone. Being rejected and unloved by the man she never considered a father made her who she is today.I exited the freeway and entered the streets of L.A. I put my bike to a halt, letting the engine run. I opened my helmet shield and glanced down at my watch to see the tracker on Pete. He and Eva were still moving, and I was just about a bit away. I shut the shield and drove in that direction. My earpiece beeped as I tapped the answer button on my bike."Ken, I'm close to Pete," I tell her."Cap, you are never going to believe this."I noticed the concern in her tone. Valentines can also symbolize romantic love and physical passion, making our hearts race toward someone we love. I arrived in front of his salon, where his apartment was on the top floor. I pressed the doorbell, and the door flung open. Pete surprised me with his presence; he had his expensive kimono bathrobe and his face plastered in a green facial mask. He taps his foot."Well, well, well, if it isn't Mr. Terry Young," Pete squinted his face, his pissed-off face, after opening his apartment door. His eyes scan me up and down, then inhale sharply. "Still sexy as ever."I clear my throat. "May I come in?"He stares at me for a minute or two, having second thoughts. "You did say you have to explain, so come inside," he said, walking away from the door and allowing me to step in.I sighed, and after I had closed my door, I looked around and saw that his apartment seemed normal and not in the ordinary except for all the colorful and furry furniture and artworks of naked people.I exhale in relief, yet a bit worried. What is Kendall talking about?
