40 years, that’s how long I have been waiting. Waiting for her to be born, for her to start the prophecy, the woman I need. Dad always told me that I was special, he never told me why, and that I am “destined for great things”. I don’t know how I am supposed to do all these great things he talked about when he never actually told me what to do, or who “the one” is! He did tell me that once she is born, I will feel the surge of power, a bigger surge when she comes of age, another when she met her mate, and the last surge when she is with pup, and that I need to keep her away from him. Unknown POV I land in Edmonton and pick up the rental car she booked for me. It’s nothing special, a white, 2 door Camry. It will do the trick though. She didn’t book me a hotel, as we weren’t sure where I’d be going from here so I quickly g****e and find some interesting places. The Hotel MacDonald, old but expensive… just because the Queen spent a night there does not mean a room is worth $1400 a night! Then there’s the Fantasy Land hotel in West Edmonton mall. I need to come back with Duane when this is over! The rooms are themed, there’s a water park and amusement park in the mall as well, but for just me it doesn’t make sense to stay there. Ashton POV Day 1 at the cabin was, almost, perfect. I did kinda burn some rice… Not enough to set off the smoke alarm, thank goddess. As I walked from the room to the kitchen I realized I didn’t ask her what she would like to drink. I couldn’t have been gone more than 30 seconds and she was out, snoring like a little lumberjack, and looking like an angel.
