Agatha’s POV

The day passed with stories and games in the gardens. When the topic of Grandpa Mitchell rose, I smile sadly. "He would have loved to be here and see this-all of us together".

It was evident to me now that the kids had no idea of the past. No idea why Zachary disliked my late husband and I, if they know he dislikes us at all. All they know is that we have...drifted apart. That there wasn't any one reason for why we didn't see each other for the past years.

I was beginning to relax when Ivan looked at me and asked me a dreaded question. "Sooo, Grandma...how come we never really heard from you or grandpa?"

I stiffen at the question and see Francisca look at me with a curious look on her face while Ivan and Dan glance at each other as if sharing a secret.

I chuckle "life I suppose, your mother and I weren't really on the best of terms". I hoped it would only be left at that, but alas that was not the case.
