“When was the last time you saw him?“

“What did they say when he was taken away?”

“Can you help us identify the assaulters?“

As I found myself seated in the hospital, a relentless barrage of questions descended from the police officers surrounding me. Though their words reached my ears, none carried any discernible meaning, for my thoughts were clouded by tears, and my trembling lips while Jayden took it upon himself to give an answer to their question.

The events of the previous night lingered vividly in my memory, destined to haunt me indefinitely. The awareness that numerous lives had been claimed by the rubble, accompanied by the agonizing screams that punctuated the night sky, remained an indelible presence.
