She sat up on the chair in her space after confirming that the door was locked, so as not to give Jessica or any other staff a possibility to walk into the office.

Mark had given notice that she stayed away from Jessica. At least, in the meantime until her good conduct came back to existence.

“What wrong will she say I have done to her?” Emily raised a question while she was walking back to the office. “Did she tell you anything?”

“No,” Mark said. “None that I can think of at the moment.”
