The Nurse who attended to Alexender had come and left the day before, and this was the turn of the Doctor to come over and see how far he came back on his feet. They were correct. In less than two weeks, the CEO of Stone Enterprise will be on his hoofs and promenade again. While Jessica stayed away from the mansion and faced her headquarters and the Enterprise as a whole, Emily spent her days in the mansion, looking after Alexander who got better. Her happiness knew no bounds on the morning of the day he dragged his legs after a long time of not walking. She called on Rachel who was pleased with the development, before placing a call to the Nurse who delivered the news to the Doctor who happened to be in charge of the CEO's fitness in the meantime. And today, the man had woken up and sauntered to the bathroom without Emily's assistance and awareness. A knock hit the door of the room when he walked out and back to his bed. It was her. He confirmed when she walked in.“Would you li
The pasta on the plate Alexander feasted on, finished. And the time to take a nap for the night, came—finally. Emily, from where she lay on a bed, in the room she was given: sensed she should visit her boss, and administer to him his dose for the night before taking the tray back to the kitchen where it belonged. She flinched off the bed, put on the jacket meant for the nightwear she carefully selected for the night and headed to the door. First, she was thirsty and would take water before reaching the CEO's room. Emily reached the dining area. She opened the fridge and fixed herself some water to gulp down. Soon enough, she existed at the door that would lead her into Alexander's enclosure, knocking and lingering to be allowed in. Some time ago, when she came to the mansion—she could walk into his room without knocking. Why not? Alexander couldn't utilize his legs at that point and always comforted himself on the bed, waiting for the right time to use his legs to arrive. Now that
“I need to see my best friend today.” He sat up on the bed, a hand on his face. “What did you say?” He asked. “Good morning, Emily.”“Good morning, Mr. Stone,” Emily greeted back, opening the curtains and picking up one of her stuff that dropped to the floor a few hours ago. “I will stop by my apartment today when I am done with you this morning. I need to see my best friend.”Oh, he gave a nod. He thought he heard something else and had to ask again, just to be certain of what she said. “Did she ask you to come over?”“No,” Emily shook her head. “She picked the un-shattered tray from the footing where it lay and shook her head again. “It is me that needs to communicate with her. We haven't seen each other in a long while since I moved into the mansion.”She was right. Who is he to prevent her from seeing her best friend? He wondered and nodded his head. “You should see her, then,” he agreed. “Doesn't she have a job? Forgive me for levering.”“She does,” Emily replied. She was on h
Waking up from a text she received from a number a few winks ago, aggravated her. She had forgotten to hang the phone on silent mode before going to bed the previous evening. Another instant when she thought about the beeps, being a lifesaver—Emily gave a nod and took the yield of the device from the table next to her bed. This time around in the morning, she must go and get ready for her day, and move over to the mansion in the space of one hour. She was presumed to retire back to Mr. Stone's house the day before this day, but didn't and the reason behind the decision she took, remains unknown. The phone was lingering to be utilized at the point, and Emily unlocked the device the next moment to see the content and context of the text. At least, before proceeding to the washroom for a warm bath. When she unlocked her phone, there was a text message from Alexander, staring at her in the face. But before she could look over the message, she came to decide that the man was mad at he
On Monday morning, the two friends scampered out of the flat in haste after bidding themselves a good day. The ridiculous alarm fucked her up again, this time. But she was fortunate that time was not far gone when she woke up. While Olivia walked away, Emily quelled at the front of the significant gate, guiding the compound in holdup for a cab. Soon, one arrived and the next thing she did was hop in without hearing what the man would say. “Stone Enterprise,” she hauled at him before he could open his mouth to speak. “Good morning.”And they drove away. At the Enterprise, staff and workers sauntered the entirety of the building. Some were complicated with themselves while others were knowledgeable of what they were accomplishing. A car drove into the premises and those who were around the space, halted their activities. Some turned around to welcome the man they were yet to set an eye on, after a while of not seeing him. The driver's window wined down, and Nicholas's face was obv
He was by the window side, his hand on the shutters while he stared at the portion of the Enterprise he could catch a glimpse of from where he was being placed. From where he was, Alexander could catch a glimpse of cars that drove past the gate of his Enterprise—old and recent, including cabs that halted around the Enterprise's portico to pick up passengers. The backgrounds of his office were built to his taste. This way, he can notice when someone he doesn't want to see is on his or her way into the Enterprise. This way, he would place a call to Jessica or the receptionist and ask them not to let the guest into his office in the name of not being available. Now he walked back to the desk side after gaping at what he scanned outside the gate of one of his properties. Alexander took a seat on the chair that confronted the turned-on but not-in-use computer system. Nicholas has done more than enough for him, as the case may be and there was only one thing he would do for the young man:
“Mark!” Alexander lauded the man when he stepped into his office. There was a smile on his countenance—the kind that demonstrated and declared he was delighted with him. “Where is your partner?”“Jessica?” Mark questioned, walking closer to the desk. “She left her office for some place a while ago. I don't know where but it shouldn't be distant.”Alexander nodded while thoughts of what went on between himself and Jessica remained in his head, but he shrugged it off in the meantime and confronted the reason he called Mark into his office. “Take a seat.” He urged the man who sat after a nod. “I have called to discuss with you and Jessica. But since she is not around in the meantime, I'll go with you.”“Yes, Mr. Stone,” the other man said. “Is everything okay with you? How is your health and legs?” “I feel better,” Alexander replied. “Not so good, yet.” He added and took the yield of a Bic from the desk where it lay. “You'll be fine,” Mark encouraged. “This is just a process for the b
It felt so good to be preferred over Jessica who asserted her suggestion was not reasonable enough. Emily on her part, had anticipated less acceptance and more rejection from Alexander and the rest of her colleagues who were inducted on the chairs in the meeting room. “It is good enough,” Alexander began when the place went serene suddenly. In his voice, there was a tone of disorder. Dissatisfaction, rather and it was relatively tough for him to conceal how disappointed he was. Who was he disappointed at? Emily, or Jessica? If the case was well judged, it would be none other than Jessica who cut in Emily's speech with the phrase ‘newbie’. Did the woman have to put it that way to Emily? Alexander thought and modified on the chair he was seated. Jessica herself was once a newbie and he took to almost all her suggestions, he recalled vividly. So what did she try to do a few moments ago?The staff began to murmur, cutting short Alexander's thought. The man winked while his concentr
