Lee had just slapped me, I gasped “did you just hit me?”
“Babe, I’m sorry.. I didn't mean to.. Jess!” He was quick to apologize but I ran to the bathroom.
He was banging at the door, “Jess please open, I’m sorry okay.” He begged, I was breathing heavily by the door, I could still feel the pain on my face. I walked to the mirror and spotted the bruise his hand left. I didn’t realize I was crying until tears rolled on my cheeks.
