CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE

She was big, I mean, she was close to eleven years old now. My heart skipped a beat, and I looked around at the thought of Clinton being near.

“I came with the guards, it's Dad's birthday tomorrow,” she said, realizing how I looked around. I had tears in my eyes, seeing her was not expected.

“Can--can I hug you?” I didn't know how she would respond.

“Ye–yes,” she also stuttered. She shakingly lifted her arms, and we hugged. She had grown so tall that her head reached my chin.

“You are so big,” I said as we pulled away.

“Yes, Daddy says I am big now. Mommy, why did you leave us?”

“You will not understand,” I said and wiped away the tears that escaped my eyes.

“I will understand. Did Daddy do something? Why did you not tell us we could talk to him?” She was nearly crying.

“Please don't cry, because if you do, Mommy will also cry,” I said, and a sad smile appeared on her lips.

“I'm not a baby anymore, you need to tell me what happened,” she insisted.
