“CLINTON! Are you kidding me?” I ran back to the bathroom. I needed to be sure because this didn't make sense. “Clinton?” I called his name again as I reached the shower area, but he wasn't there. My heart didn't stop beating, and I refused to believe he left me.

I walked back to the bedroom and sat on the bed. I stared at the little note. Did he do this to take revenge on me for leaving him years ago? I asked myself.

"No, Jess, you're not going to cry, crying doesn't help, it's for the weak, and you're strong, he—he might have gone to the shops, yes,” I told myself and caressed my cheeks. They didn't have tears, but I wanted to be sure.

I stood up and walked to the glass window. I stared outside for a second in the hope of seeing a plant. Plants always calmed me. I looked down but didn't see any. I unintentionally walked to the door, knowing it was locked. I touched the door handle, and it opened. Someone was by the door.

“Good morning, Mrs. Clinton,” said one of the hotel staff. I nodded to her greeting as I was still in shock. “I came to see if you needed anything.”

“Did you see my—Mr. Clinton?” I corrected myself, as I almost said, husband.

"Yes, he left this morning. Any problem?”

“No, no, there's no problem.” I was quick to respond, I was not going to share my problems with her.

"Alright, please call me if you need anything,” she said, and I nodded. As she turned to leave, I stopped her.

“Wait, I will need something.”

"Anything, Mrs. Clinton.”

“Can you get me a cab—uber?”

“Yes, but you can use the company's car if you want to go somewhere.”

“No thank you, an Uber will do.” I didn't want to go in Clinton's car.

“As you wish,” she said, and I smiled and attempted to close the door, but I stopped myself again.

"Sorry, in which part of the State are we?”

“Northern.”

"Okay, thank you.” I smiled before I closed the door. I walked to the bedroom and removed the oversized shirt I had thrown on earlier. I went to the bathroom and wore a bathrobe. I didn't have time to shower, so I washed my face and brushed my teeth. When I was done, I left the room without knowing where I was going.

I didn't realize when I reached the reception and was shocked that I didn't bump into any guests on my way—only employees.

“Mrs. Clinton,” the lady from earlier, came to my side as soon as she saw me, I smiled at the receptionist, who greeted me with respect. “The cab is here,” she said, leading the way, and I followed behind her.

“I didn't see any guests here, is it always like this?” I asked, as my curiosity was killing me.

“That's because Mr. Clinton booked the whole hotel, he didn't want any disturbance, so he asked us to close off for a month,” she said, and I gasped when I realized that he planned to keep me here for a month—well, too late because when he comes back, I won't be here.

“Is there any problem? Don’t you like it?” She asked, and I shook my head.

“Thank you,” I said as we got outside.

“This place is beautiful, you should see it when it's fully booked, the guests love this hotel,” she tried to make conversation.

y, I mean, it is a peaceful place.”

"Yes, but that's not the only reason it stands out, our manager is amazing, and employees are always happy which provides excellent services for our guests,” she said with a smile.

I didn't know how to respond, so I smiled as I realized we had already gotten to the cab. The cab driver was kind enough to open the car door for me. I waved at the lady, she was very kind. I don't know if it's because she knew my status or naturally kind. She smiled and waved at me too.

I told the cab driver my address. It would take an hour to get there, I didn't bother to ask if he was allowed to go that far since he didn't complain after seeing my address.

When he started the car, I rested my head against the seat. I didn't know what was going on with Clinton, and if he just went to the shops, well, his loss, as I was not going to sit and wait for him when my career was at stake.

I closed my eyes and imagined Jun’s reaction: Did he file for divorce? Is he the reason my movies were taken down? I was most scared of Loren, I couldn't even begin to think of that, but even with the fear, I still wanted to go. I needed to see my babies, I missed them.

I didn't realize when I fell asleep as by the time I shot my eyes open, we were already in front of Loren's house. The driver didn't wake me up, he was just staring at me from the mirror.

“When did we get here?” I asked and rubbed sleep off my eyes, the sun was already setting.

“Two hours ago.”

“And you didn't wake me up?”

“I figured you might be tired,” he said, but I wasn't falling for that. I knew he meant well.

"Okay, wait here. I will go and get your money,” I said and opened the door.

“Your ride was already paid for.”

“Huh?”

“The lady from the hotel paid for the ride,” he said, and I nodded before I thanked him and got out.

I stood by the gate for a minute before I knocked on the gate. The gateman opened right away after confirming from the peephole. He greeted me, and I nodded. I rubbed my sweaty palms as I walked towards the house entrance. I stood by the door and looked around, hoping to see Loren's driver, as he had my phone, but I didn't.

“I will find him later,” I told myself, and I opened the door.

“Anyone here I, oh my God!” I didn't finish my sentence as I covered my mouth in shock at the sight I was seeing. Loren was on top of Jun—they were kissing.

Omg, I don’t know what to think. I knew Clinton would take the kids. But Loren kissing Jun? Everything in Jessica’s life that could go wrong is. She has no one to rely on.

I closed my eyes and prayed that my kids were safe. I knew they were safe with Matilda.“We are here,” the driver said, and I nodded before I got out of the car and walked towards the tall hospital building. I came to see Chris. I wanted to understand what was happening and make sure he was okay. Loren called me selfish, and I hated to admit it, but I knew I was. I came here for her, not for me. Why did Clinton have to ruin this for me, and now he is nowhere to be found? What a joke. I walked into the hospital. The nurses were very kind, although they eyed me weirdly. I guess the bathrobe didn't make sense, like, who walks into the hospital in a bathrobe? They handed me a form to fill out, which they explained to give to everyone who visited him, as he was under strict observation. One of them led me to his ward after the form filling was done.“Is he still in a coma?” I asked the nurse.“Yes, he's not showing any improvements, I don't know, but I think you should keep your sister

I stood up and paced around, I couldn't stand in one place.“I asked you to fix it, not complicate things,” I said and dialed Clinton's number, which gave me the same response as earlier. “Fuck!” I cursed and rubbed my palms, which were now sweating. “I need a drink, it will help me calm down,” I said to myself, and I grabbed the keys before I walked out. There were two men dressed in black by my door. I easily figured them out to be guards. “Weird,” I said out loud. Hotel security is tight these days.I ordered a ride on my way down the stairs, whic

I cleared my throat, and even when my heart asked me to head back to my room, my brain asked me to stay.“Can I sit down?” he asked, pointing at the stool next to me, and I nodded, confirming.“Of course you may.” I struggled to open the bottle.“Let me help with that,” he offered, and I gave him the bottle. I cleared my throat, closed the door, and turned to her.“Did Clinton return the kids?” I knew it was being selfish, but my kids came first.“Not yet, they are safer with him than with you,” she said.“What is that supposed to mean? What I'm saying is that everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they are willing to accept and work on their mistake,” I explained, and she nodded. “You might not be ready by now, but I'm sure one day you will.”“But…”“She will always be the woman who gave birth to you, you will forgive her someday,” I

The last time we were together, she was not pleased with me, she blamed me for Clinton’s conditoin—when Accardo shot him, she even threatened to force him to divorce me if it weren't for the kids. “I hope all is well?” she asked as we pulled away. I only nodded, as I was sure my breath was still full of alcohol. I didn't want to give her a reason to judge me.“Clinton, my boy,” Mr. Smith said, taking Clinton in his arms.
