ABIGAIL POV

I close my eyes, trying to regulate my breathing.

“They have Asmeral.” I uttered, and drank from the water that was on the nightstand.

Damian frowns deeper.

“Zion woke up.” He notifies me seriously, standing up.

HAS HE WOKE UP ALREADY?

I checked the time and it was four in the morning, not the time to be awake.

"How are you doing?" I asked tiredly, rubbing my neck.

“Perfect, I would say that he is in better spirits, he is playing in the living room, he doesn't get tired.”

How confused. Now I frown.

“Last night he didn't take any medication, and it normally takes three days to regain energy.”

He crosses his muscular arms.

“Zion is fine, that's all that matters.” He mumbled, walking over and grabbing a pillow, throwing it at my chest, “Cover yourself up a little.”

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

My breasts were exposed all this time while I was talking to him. He was enjoying the view, what a shame he saw my bra. Fuck.

I see him go.

“I'll look for Asmeral, don't worry about her.” He says,

ABIGAIL POVMy arm was grabbed, forcefully, making me spin around and meet him face to face.I'm angry, he was so ruthless, as if I were... his employee. And at the end of the day that's what I am, an unimportant employee.“Abigail.” he mentions.I interrupt him, “I said it won't happen again.” I give my arm a strong tug, freeing it from his grasp. Making my anger clear to him.He didn't insist and allowed me to leave quietly.Zion came with the peanut butter in his hands, I told him that I had already had breakfast and that I was waiting for him in the yard so we could play for a while. The outdoors makes me feel at home, what the walls reveal are the tall trees of the forest, an intense blue sky with several white clouds, the breeze is more refreshing when it is morning, the sound of nature, of the birds singing, and the leaves caressing each other. My skin crawls under the touch of the cold breeze of the day. I hugged myself, and sat on the grass, near the pool filled with ice wate

ABIGAIL POV“She was stabbed, but I think it was with a mystical object, something that cursed her.”What do you mean, I don't see the difference, it just looks like a wound."What are you talking about?"“Asmeral lost its magic.” He said a female voice, totally new to me.It was a girl, arms crossed, looking at Asmeral sadly. I don't know who she is. I search for information with my intriguing gaze at Damian.“Liv.” He mentioned, “The wound is not bleeding, is that a good sign?”Liv, that was the girl's name, I wanted to introduce myself, but she was focused on Asmeral. Why did she seem so interested in her? Everything I observed about her intrigued me more. She was a few inches taller than me, she dressed in a style similar to Asmeral, is she a witch too? That would make a lot more sense.Damian sees Liv to get an answer to his question, the girl approaches and crouches in front of Asmeral, Damian has her lying on the couch. Liv lifts Asmeral's dirty and blood-stained shirt a little

“I have to take a shower, maybe tomorrow.” I murmured and tried to pass by him, but his hand grabbed my waist, holding me against him, I put one of my hands on his chest, to put a safe distance between us.My strength was useless, Damian was stronger than me.“Don't try to stop the inevitable.” he whispers and his nose touches mine.I looked for a logic to his words, a hidden message.“What am I stopping?”“Your wishes, Abigail.” Reluctantly turning on, I find that I have an effect on him, “It would truly be a pleasure to satisfy your desires.”I frown.“You just want sex, Damian.” I got angry, and I struggled to leave, but I already told you, he is very strong, and that made me angrier, “I'm not Amelia, not any of your whores, I'm not like them, so leave me alone.”“You’re just putting it off.” He says very sure.I laughed at that, he really believed I would become like Amelia, and Diana.“Aren't you a committed man?” I attacked him, nothing has been heard about his wedding, nothing.

But with Damian's return my life has made me rethink if Zion wants a dad, I know he needs one, and I believed that Damian had matured, settled down, was going to get married, was an adult. And he doesn't want a family. And what were Zion and I? He didn't want to be part of us. And it hurt.“Zion is an incredible boy,” I said, feeling my vision crystallize, “He always gets A's in school, he supports me and helps me with things around the house, at his age he knows how to pack his backpack and do his homework, he doesn't like me to worry about him, he likes sports and winning, he is kind and understanding. He is good. And he deserves a good father.”“Abigail, I wouldn't be father of the year, but…”“I know, you don't want a family.” I wipe my cheek, I feel so sad for Zion, his biological father doesn't want to be his father.“No, but I can try.” he offers me, and I laughed hurt.“We are not playing the happy family, Damian, I cannot put my son's emotional stability to your uncertain att

ABIGAIL POV Liv, she tries to struggle, to use her magic, but it doesn't work. Because?“She's not Asmeral, Abigail.” Liv mutters, still fighting with Asmeral and her knife.“Let go of her, she's not dangerous.” I asked… “What is your name?”“Bastián.”Bastián saw someone behind me, I look over my shoulder it's Damian, he had just arrived, from where I don't even know, but he's late.“Let go of her, it is forbidden to spill witch blood here.” He orders fiercely, menacingly.Asmeral, I mean, Bastian threw Liv to the ground, looking angry. Or angry. It's confusing, the traveler is a man named Bastian, and he is in my cousin's body. So normal.“Damian.” He mentions, smiling evilly, “I thought I would never see you again.”Do you know Damian?Liv looks dismayed, as do I. How does a traveler trapped in a gem for more than a century meet Damian?"Who are you?" Damian asks, surprised.“How quickly you forget family, huh.” he says, sitting on the couch, placidly, with the same evil smile,

DAMIAN POV “I am powerful, Damian, dangerously powerful.” He stands up, and walks towards me, “Magret converted me too.”"That?" I spat dejectedly. He was also a…“Not exactly,” he read my mind, “I'm half werewolf and half witch. Like Magret, she made me what I am today.”I frown.Just like Zion. A Siphon.“Who is Zion?” he asked."Get out of my mind." I ordered him, “That night they also turned you into a werewolf?”Bastián snorts, “No, Magret converted me before, much before.” He confidently recounts, “She shouldn't have turned you, Damian, she was very stupid to do so.”“Why you never told me.” I demanded, angrily.“Because she loved you,” he says resentfully, with a voice full of rage, I slightly notice his tensed jaw, “But you were very good, she couldn't allow herself to be with you because of her nature and the crimes she had committed.”"No." I deny, my eyes crystallized, the wound opened more and more, hurting like that same day when I saw it consumed in fire.“The dark

DAMIAN POVI won't let anything happen to her or our son.“You're the girl from the club, right?” My question catches her off guard, her eyes widen. It's her. My sexy diva.“I thought you would never remember,” she confesses, blushing more, “You were very drunk.”"You too." I return, running my hand around his waist, “I would never forget a night like that.”Her breathing is labored, my eyes drop to her moist, torturing lips. She pushes me, and I release her, smiling. I have the same effect as that night with her.“Didn't you have a trip?” She asked me, steadying her breathing."I will not be late." I promised her, resuming my plans, I leave the room, my attitude is different, serious and ruthless, that cold Damian. I get into the car, Bastián throws me the keys, Liv is distracted in the back seats, when she sees me she decides to talk.“We must recover the dagger of eternal punishment.” She commands.Bastián curses under his breath, and grabs his knife, stopping him, “Don't even thin

DAMIAN POV“And who is Abigail?”"It's my wife."“Love softens people, love makes you weak, little brother.”Asmeral looked covered in blood, her clothes were dyed crimson, her hair was damp, she was bathed in blood, and she did not show a bit of compassion, she has taken the lives of an entire coven of witches, she has taken out the hearts of each one. Who took yours? Who discouraged my brother?Bastián was never like that, the little I remember was seeing him sing that song at the top of his lungs in the bar, before I could shake his hair in my hands, now I wouldn't dare get stained with the blood that falls from him in drops.Bastián, what monster have you become?“You left me alone, Damian, I had to continue without you.” He answers those questions inside my head, he shows me a nostalgic look, the past is touching the deepest part of his being. And, it's as if I can see that kind young man breathe again, “A lot of things happened after you left, but they don't matter anymore, it d

You deserve to feel good, Abigail. Let go, just this once.”I hesitated, torn between my loyalty to Damian and the burning need I felt. As the months passed, the wounds of betrayal began to heal, albeit slowly. Abigail and I worked tirelessly to rebuild our relationship, and though it was never easy, our love for each other and for Zion gave us the strength to persevere.Margaret, sensing that her influence over me had waned, became increasingly bitter and isolated. She no longer held the power she once did, and her attempts to come between us grew more desperate and transparent. One evening, as the sun set over our home, Abigail and I sat on the porch, watching Zion play in the yard. There was a sense of peace that had been missing for so long, and for the first time in months, I felt a glimmer of hope.“Damian,” Abigail said softly, her hand resting on mine. “I know we’ve been through so much, and I know that things will never be exactly the same. But I want you to know that I see the effort you’re making, and I appreciate it.”I turned to her, my heart swelling with gratitude. “Abigail, I love you more than anythin

The days that followed were a blur of guilt and despair. Abigail refused to speak to me, and Zion’s once-bright eyes were filled with confusion and hurt. The trust and love that had bound us together seemed irreparably damaged.Margaret, ever the opportunist, tried to seize the moment to draw me closer. But every touch, every whisper, only served to remind me of the betrayal I had committed.“Damian,” she purred one evening, her hand tracing circles on my chest. “We could be happy together. We could start anew.”I pushed her away, my voice filled with anger and regret. “This isn’t what I want, Margaret. I made a terrible mistake, and I need to fix it.”Her eyes flashed with anger. “Fix it? How? Abigail will never forgive you.”“Maybe not,” I said, standing up. “But I have to try. I love her and Zion more than anything. What happened between us was a mistake.”Margaret’s face twisted with rage. “You’re a fool, Damian. She’ll never take you back.”“Maybe,” I replied, my resolve hardenin

The weeks that followed our victory over the witches were tense. The fragile peace in our household was constantly under threat, and Margaret seemed to be at the center of it. Her presence was a constant reminder of the past and the dangers we still faced. But beneath her cold exterior, she harbored a burning desire—a desire for me that had never faded. One evening, as Abigail and Zion slept soundly, I found myself alone in the study, the weight of recent events heavy on my mind. The door creaked open, and Margaret stepped in, her eyes glinting with a predatory gaze.“Damian,” she said softly, her voice like velvet. “You seem troubled.”I looked up, my guard momentarily lowered. “Just thinking about everything that’s happened. The witches, the artifact, the danger we’re still in.”Margaret moved closer, her movements smooth and deliberate. “You carry so much on your shoulders. It’s not fair.”I sighed, rubbing my temples. “It’s my responsibility. I have to protect Abigail and Zion.”S

The journey back home was filled with a sense of triumph and exhaustion. We had accomplished what seemed impossible, but the cost had been high. Our alliance had grown stronger, forged in the fires of battle. When we finally reached home, Abigail and Zion ran out to greet us. Abigail’s eyes were filled with relief and pride as she hugged me tightly. “You did it.”“We all did,” I said, looking at our gathered allies. “We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help.”Zion looked up at me, his eyes wide with admiration. “Daddy, are the bad witches gone?”I knelt down, ruffling his hair. “Yes, buddy. They’re gone. You’re safe now.”Bastian and Margaret joined us, their faces weary but satisfied. “We need to stay vigilant,” Bastian said. “The witches might be weakened, but they won’t give up.”“We’ll be ready,” Abigail said firmly. “We’ve proven that together, we can face anything.”As the days turned into weeks, life began to return to a semblance of normalcy. We continued to train and

As we approached the witches’ territory, the atmosphere grew heavy with dark energy. Shadows seemed to move on their own, and the air was thick with the scent of decay. We moved cautiously, every sense alert for the slightest hint of danger.“We’re close,” Margaret whispered, her eyes scanning the area. “The artifact is hidden in a cave beneath the witches’ stronghold.”Lucian nodded, his vampire senses honed to a razor’s edge. “I’ll scout ahead. Keep low and stay quiet.”He vanished into the shadows, his movements almost imperceptible. We waited, the tension in the air palpable. Moments later, Lucian reappeared, his expression grim.“There’s a patrol up ahead. Five witches, heavily armed,” he reported.“We’ll have to take them out quietly,” Bastian said, his voice low. “Any noise could alert the entire stronghold.”We moved forward, our steps silent on the forest floor. The patrol came into view, their dark robes blending with the shadows. Bastian signaled, and we split up, surroundi
