Ronan’s POV
I seriously messed up last night. I don’t know what came over me. I know that her has no romantic feelings for Pete whatsoever but having her be so comfortable around him and so happy to see him but unwilling to even share a room with me set Ghost off in my head. He is getting impatient waiting on her to let us mark her. It is getting harder everyday because I am determined to honor her wishes and Ghost wants to drop everything to find her family so he can mark her.
Even now he is kicking against the barrier that separates us, trying to get me to lay in bed beside her and hold her. When I heard her breathing slow and even out, I picked the lock to the closet and carried her out to my bed. Knowing she wouldn’t be okay with sleeping next to me, I made a bed of blankets and pillows on the floor beside the bed, not wanting to be too far away from her.
There is nothing angelic about this fiery woman, but I will be damned if
Willow’s POV“Thanks, Xander. Having something to take my frustration out on really helped. I am sorry about knocking it’s head off those. That kind of put a damper on my fun,” I say as I walk into the kitchen and grab a cup and pour myself some coffee. Not really knowing my way around this kitchen, Xander reached into the cabinet above my head and brought out the sugar and then he grabbed the bottle of French vanilla creamer from the fridge.“Nah, that is definitely not the first time we have beheaded a dummy around here.” He laughed.I look over at Pete who is sitting at the table by himself. I know Ronan was just here because I can still smell his scent fresh in the air.“Hey Pete. Are you okay?” I ask.He gives me a half-hearted smile, “I’m just thinking is all.”I plop down in the chair beside him, and he subtly leans away. I feel a twinge of anger because I know that Ronan’s display last night is what made him afraid to be too close to me.Pushing those thoughts away I ask, “Thi
Xander’s POVTwo weeks after Willow leftI can’t believe Ronan just let our Luna leave. We have waited so long for our mates, and he was lucky enough to finally find his and he just lets her walk off. What a stupid, arrogant man he is. Now I am trying to find her, but she left no paper trail of any kind. Not that I am surprised, she is a private detective, so she knows how to fly beneath the radar. Pete has been beside himself and Ronan, well Ronan has been basically a non-entity. He stays holed up in his room constantly. If I didn’t see him daily to force him to eat, people would think he was dead.“This is impossible. She could be anywhere by now,” Pete says with a voice full of defeat.I walk over and place my hand on his shoulder, causing him to pause his search on the computer, “She isn’t going to go too far Pete, trust me. She cares too much about you to just leave you here forever.”“She had no problem denouncing the pack and leaving me here, so whose to say she wont leave Mont
Willow’s POV“She’s my mate,’ I heard Xander announce proudly.“What?” I ask, my mouth agape.Xander stood straight, giving him an extra inch to tower over me. When did this happen? Has he always known she was hit mate, or did they just meet?“Pete and I came to look for you and when I came in Zane went crazy. I have waited so long to find her,” he was crying and laughing.I am having a hard time finding the joy for him. Since I left the pack, I haven’t felt like myself. It’s almost as if someone zapped my energy. I find myself crying for no reason and often sick to my stomach without reason.I force a smile, “I’m happy for you Xander. I am glad you get to finally find happiness.”His returning smile faltered, “Willow, won’t you please come back? We really need our alpha and he is a literal trainwreck and has been since you left. Without our Luna, he has lost his desire for everything else.”I cross my arms over my chest with stubborn indignation, “Then why isn’t he here himself?”“Be
Ronan’s POV“Ronan, get to Doc now. He’s in danger!”Xander’s message via our mind link keeps replaying in slow motion as I race as fast as my wolf legs will carry me. Xander and Pete have out only vehicle which left me no choice but to shift and run to Doc’s office.“Do you want to tell me what ‘m walking into?’ I send to Xander as I push my legs harder.Xander gave me a brief run down on what happened at Olivia’s shop. I knew I should have followed up with Doc when he never showed up to go over Willow’s blood test results. I was so wrapped up in my own self pity that I didn’t bother with anything other than my own feelings. My heart skips a beat when I hear Xander speaking to Willow. I would have to kick his ass later for defying a direct order, but for now I have to focus on getting to Doc. I send a prayer to the Moon Goddess, praying that we’re not too late.I reach the dirt road and I hear Xander pulling into the drive behind me. I quickly shift and open the trunk to grab a pair
Willow's POV "Can you take care of Pete while Ronan and I take care of the body?" Xander asks me cautiously, feeling out my mood.I glance at Pete's wounds and I suddenly feel overwhelmed. I am not a doctor, hell I'm not even a nurse. I can't just sew him up. What if I do something wrong and hurt him further? I nervously shake my head no.Ronan squats in front of me and places his rough but gentle hands on either side of my face, "You can do this Willow. Pete needs our help in order for his wolf to heal him. You can't do anything worse to him. It's just like sewing. We have to dig this grave and put the body to rest or someone else could get hurt."I know as wolves we heal quicker than most and I also know that if we can close Pete's wounds his wolf will be able to heal him a lot faster. I will myself to move closer to Pete, grabbing the supplies and moving them closer. Ronan leans in and plants a soft kiss on my forehead. I feel useless. I have taken on a lot of different creatures b
Ronan's POV"I'm sorry I made things so difficult for you before. I know you are my mate, I just couldn't let myself get distracted from my goals. Now I see that we stand a better chance together than apart," she explained as she gently held my hand as we lazily walked back to the pack house."So your open to having me as a mate now?" I ask cautiously.I felt my heart skip a beat when she nodded and smiled up at me. I am so happy right now that I could take her right here on the forest floor. "I will not reject you anymore. I never should have. The moon goddess blessed me with the perfect mate and I have behaved less than appreciative."I stop in my tracks and pull her to me so she lands against the solid wall of my chest. My hand cups her angelic face as I lower my lips to hers. She wraps her arms around my neck and opens her mouth, giving me full access to her mouth. Her kisses are addictive and her soft moans of pleasure call to my most primal needs. I break this kiss, leaving bot
Willow’s POV “Are you sure?” he asks me full of uncertainty. Those three words were enough to validate my decision. I was never more sure about anything. As a wolf, I am nothing without him. As for my darker, necromancer half of me, well that is something we can learn and figure out as we go. The main thing is that we are together. “I am positive,” I answer, watching as his smile grew wider with each word. I’m not sure if it was the build of anticipation or just plain unadulterated need, but Ronan picked me up, so I straddled his waist and ran toward the stairs, causing me to erupt with laughter. He stopped at the bottom of the stairs and gave me a look that said this would be my last chance to change my mind. When I offered no objection, he leaned in to kiss me. It was in this kiss that I could feel his joy at finally being accepted, his fear of being rejected, and this deep primal need that had been plaguing him since I arrived. The influx of emotion was staggering, making me ha
Ronan’s POV “I love you, Willow.” I internally kick myself and tense, waiting for her to bolt. Today she finally accepted me as her mate and let me mark her. She even marked me in return, now I may have just messed things up again with three words. I relax a bit when she doesn’t bolt for the door. She surprised me when she instead rolled over, wrapped her arms around my bare waist and tucked her head into my chest. “I love you too,” she sighed sleepily before letting sleep overcome her. I feel my heart constrict as everything finally felt right. Ghost is at peace and Harmony as well. Ghost tells me that Harmony is quite the talker when Willow is asleep. That tells me that Willow subconsciously blocks Harmony constantly. I would have to talk to her about that some time. I don’t even know if she realizes that she does it. Having your wolf constantly in your mind can be distracting and at times annoying but suppressing Harmony for too long could have drastic consequences. Our wolves n
Willow's POVI'm just so unbelievably hot right now. I have never felt such need and desire. I want to rip his clothes off and ride his rock hard dick right here in the kitchen. The thought of it alone is making me wet. I can feel him trying to reign it in, to control himself, but I want him to lose control with me. I want to feel him on every inch of my skin and more so inside of me. My core is slick and painfully throbbing with my need for him.I break my kiss and leave a trail of them down his neck where I lick and tease the mark he now wore showing that he is mine."I want you," I whisper in his ear before I draw his bottom lobe in my mouth, pulling a low and seductive growl from his throat. His hand grip my ass harder and he rubs my pussy against the rough material of his jeans so I could feel how hard he is for me. I reach my hands between our bodies and begin to unfasten the button of his jeans. His hand stops mine for a second, "Someone could walk in."I shrug, "Let them."I
Ronan's POV"Nephew? My how you have grown into quite the man. Let me look at you," Aunt Kat gushes over me.We have been trying for so long to get her back to herself and now that she is, I almost dont believe it and to think Willow has been the key to getting her back this whole time. Seriously is there anything that she can't do? All of this solidifies my belief that even if she wasn't mated to me, she was still made just for me.I open my arms and allow my aunt to walk into them to embrace me. Tears are threatening to take over as I release her and take a second to admire her and relish in the fact that she is here and coherant. The guilt of what happened to her has eaten away at me for so long and then it got worse when I found that her wolf actually died and that's why she went all bat shit crazy. Honestly, I still feel guilty a little. If it wasn't for her helping me in the first place, none of this would have happened.Willow grasps my hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. I kno
Willow's POV "Wait. I'm going to need you to explain? How does Willow bringing her wolf back, that's assuming you're correct, how does that break the spell?" Pete asked defensively. Barely acknowledging that it was Pete who spoke to her, Olivia addresses me, "The one thing that ends a spell without fail is death. The potion that she absorbed was designed to subdue her wolf. It appears that captivity has killed her wolf, which explains why your powers surfaced with our arrival. If you are able to bring her wolf back the spell will be broken because she died." "But who's to say that bringing her wolf back doesn't reinstate the spell?" I ask nervously. "Spells are not living beings that pass on, therefore they cannot be reanimated," she stated with confidence. This is a whole lot of new information to take in. Ronan has been living with the guilt of what happened to Katarina since he was sixteen years old. If I am able to take that burden off his shoulders, why wouldn't I give it a t
Ronan's POV"And when he does, I will be there with my eyes on you. We are not letting you get yourself killed. We will figure out a way to save Jessica. If it's not too late that is."I feel a special kindred toward Pete now, even more so than I did growing up. Before he was just the annoying friend that followed me everywhere and now that I know he isn't trying to put the moves on my mate, my fondness of him is growing. He loves Willow just as much as I do, just in a different way and I know that he would lay down his life for her. I wish I could say the same for Xander. When she first got here, Xander was all team Willow. Now his grief has him placing blame on her when it is not her burden to carry. He has lashed out on her so many times that I am not sure if their relationship will be salvageable when we get through this."We should probably head down now. Olivia should be here any minute now," I suggest to Willow.Pete looks to me, "Do you mind if I sit in on the meeting?"Willow
Willow's POV To save time Ronan and I cleaned up together. Olivia is due to arrive any minute now with Katarina and I want to make sure I stop in to see Pete before we meet with her. I tie the laces of my favorite combat boots and look over at Ronan as he finishes struggling with his last boot. "I will meet you downstairs. I want to check on Pete before I head down," I inform Ronan. I grabs my hand and kisses my palm, "Do you mind if I join you? I'd like to see him too and fill him in so he's not in the dark?" I shrug my shoulders to let him know that it didn't bother me. I would prefer it anyway just to make sure Ghost didn't get the wrong impression. I use the hand he is already holding and pull him up so he can follow me to Pete's room. "I wonder how he is doing. I haven't been able to really check on him since the incident at Doc's. He should be mostly healed by now right?" I ask Ronan. "It's hard to say really. The last I checked the external wounds had healed and scarred o
Ronan's POVMy blood is boiling and my heart is beating wildly against my chest while Ghost is going ballistic, wanting to unleash is wrath on Xander for hurting our mate. The fact of the matter is that id he were anyone else, he would be in a world of hurt if not dead. It's taking every last ounce of strength in me to keep Ghost in check. Xander better get himself in line a adjust his attitude sooner rather than later because I don't know how much longer I will be able to contain him. He is out for blood."When we get back to the pack house, it would be in your best interest to keep your distance from me and Willow. Ghost is furious at yu right now and the last thing I want to do is hurt you. I can't say the same for Ghost," I warn him.Xander said nothing, he just nodded his head and quietly climbed back into the car with his head down. That was more like it. I sigh in frustration and climb into the drivers seat. I originally had Willow drive because I was too upset and distracted b
Willow’s POV684 Waterman LnTurn the hybrid she-wolf over by 10 pm tomorrow. A wolf will die for each day you refuse, starting with your precious Jessica.I read the note over and over until my vision begins to go dark around the edges. What is so special about me that I should die? Poor Jessica is innocent and has nothing to do with this. She hasn’t even been adopted into the pack yet. It’s not fair that her life is resting in my hands. None of this makes any sense to me. I haven’t done anything other than try to track down my family and I have even given up on that. Once I accepted Ronan as my mate, none of that seemed important anymore but for whatever reason these vampires are determined that I have to die. The only thing I am sure of right now is that I have to turn myself over to them to save Jessica. She should not be forced to die for me when she still has a whole life left to live.I snatch the note from Xander and storm out of the house. If they want me, they better be prep
Xander's POV I was expecting the worst when I busted the door down to Jessica's house, but I was not expecting the scene before me. What I could tell had once been a pristine beige sofa was now split into multiple pieces and thrown throughout the living room. Her once solid wood coffee table was now splintered into a thousand shards. My heart starts beating frantically as my ears pick up on pained moans coming from further in the house. I run down the hall toward the noise and enter a small kitchen where a scene from a horror movie greeted me. Our Gamma, Brian and his right hand, Tony were bound to two kitchen chairs with their backs to each other with duct tape. I can't see the extent of Tony's injuries, but I am almost positive they mirror Brian's. Whoever did this cut Brian open from neck to navel and stuffed him full of wolfsbane to prevent him from healing and damn near liquifying every organ it touched. There was no way he would come back from this. If I had come looking for
Willow’s POV Knowing that Ronan would be the one driving, I immediately got into the front passenger seat and buckled my seatbelt. Xander climbed into the backseat and Ronan now sits beside me in the driver’s seat. It feels like we can’t enjoy one day of happiness before something happens to ruin it. I sigh inwardly and send a silent prayer to the moon goddess that we find Jessica alive and well. Any other outcome would be unfair. They just found each and unlike Ronan and I they immediately accepted each other, just to be cruelly ripped apart so soon. Ronan’s hand lands on top of mine and he rubs small circles on the knuckle of my thumb. I glanced back at Xander whose eyes were now trained on my hand in Ronan’s. I gently pull my hand from Ronan’s and offer it to Xander. Ronan gives me an appreciative nod and trains his eyes on the road ahead. “We are going to find her, Xander. Try not to let your mind go to the worst,” I try my best to console him. He looks me dead in the eyes, his
