ROSE
He stood there, arms folded, face unamused and a questioning look clearly visible.
"I... I... It's," not finding the words to articulate, I eventually gave up.
I sighed and said, "It was an accident. Deamian happened."
Ryker's face went red and his fists clenched.
"What?" He boomed. He then moved closer and studied the bite marks further.
"He tried something with you! Are you okay Rose? He didn't hurt you, did he? When I get my hands on that b-"
But I had to cut him off somewhere right, despite him looking very overprotective and handsome.
"He didn't hurt me. It, it was an accident okay?" I said trying to calm him down.
"Accident?! How can he accidentally leave bite marks on my mate's neck?" He
ROSEBlood… blood everywhere. Pouring out of my ears, dripping from my nose, my eyes… all over my shaking hands. I looked down and turned cold. The bodies… every single werewolf who ever died during training were sprawled out at my feet. Each lifeless with eyes white as snow and skin pale and slightly blue. That’s when I saw them. My parents sprawled out in the middle, headless, and next to them, Martha. Her neck was once again contorted into a weird angle. Everyone here seemed lifeless, that was, until her eyes closed and opened in a blink. My breath hitched slightly, and she began to rise. Her bones clicking in place as she did. She then places her pale hands on her neck and twisted it back into place. Her eyes were red with blood but stared at me, keeping me frozen in place.“It’s all your fault!” She spat with a hoarse,
ROSEHe refused to tell me exactly why he felt it necessary to hide me in the sanctuary. And so, I thought it best to give him the cold shoulder. I woke up extremely early and began all my alpha duties, plagued, yet again by those frightening nightmares. First stop was Henry to fetch the report."Hey," he said. I returned it with a tired smile and for a moment he froze which had me panicking."What's wrong? Is there a rogue behind me or something?" I then turned but found no rogue.I turned back to him and he still had that surprised look on his face, but this time he at least managed to open his mouth to speak."Y-you smiled..." He said.My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Did I? I was too tired to even remember."Yes... So?"
ROSEI ended up in the cemetery. Yes... I know how morbid it sounds. But I had to see them. Nowadays I'd developed a sense of... Emotions. Maybe it was the fact that Ryker slash Deamian had made me see things differently. But I'd prefer not to think of him too much, I was still pretending to be upset. The nightmares were also still haunting me, and part of me believed that coming here, paying my respects… seeing those very closed graves, would help ease my worry. Despite trying to become a better person, these nightmares had me worn out to the point where I wasn’t sure I was as strong as I once was before. As I walked, I couldn’t help but notice how my body shook, how flashes of Martha, my parents and the other corpses filled my mind. I knew I needed to do this though, so I gritted my teeth and continued to walk.I placed a bouquet of flowers filled
ROSE"Alpha, you need to come quickly."I'd been in my office for the remainder of the day while Deamian was out on the grounds, making sure that everything was going smoothly. So, it was strange that I'd been called by Henry."What's wrong?" I asked. He grabbed my hand which caused me to growl lowly, said we had no time for arguing and then began to pull me towards the edge of the woods. Many werewolves were gathered there already. I tried to yell at Henry many, many times but each time I broke from his grasp, he grabbed me and continued to pull me harshly until finally I saw it. Or should I say, I saw her. The Moon Goddess. She was on the floor, her eyes shut and her chest barely rising and falling as she breathed. Deamian was by her side, worry in his eyes. As I neared, his eyes snapped towards me and softened. Immediately I was by his side.
ROSE"Where is he?!" Deamian yelled at the bloodied rogue with almost sunken back eyes and scratches all over his face. I was gory, unfeeling, merciless, and plain cold, but Deamian took it to a new level. So much so that Carina had left two hours ago crying and feeling sick to the stomach. My poor Beta even threw up outside. To be quite frank, my stomach was being tugged in all kinds of directions just watching him, and for a moment, I understood exactly what “power” was and how it was different to “strength”. Of course, Deamian had both, but this was just plain scary. The rogue shook his head for about the hundredth time and then the sound of breaking bones followed. I watched in horror as Deamian tore through the flesh and bones of his victim. This was the fifth rogue he'd killed today, along with a few shadows- humans infected with some sort of dark, forbidden werewolf magic- and although
ROSEI woke up gently to the feeling of warmth and strong arms surrounding me as well as the delightful scent of Deamian invading my senses and the knowledge that no single nightmare had attacked me. For a moment I wondered how exactly we ended up like this, and then memories of the previous night appeared in my head and a tiny smile spread across my face. I'd kissed him. Yes... I actually kissed Deamian. Gosh what the hell was going on with me."You're awake early." He mumbled and pulled me closer towards him. "How'd you know?" I asked as I lifted my head and saw his closed eyes."Your thoughts." He said, a smile forming on his face and his gorgeous blue eyes staring down at me. “Any nightmares?”I shook my head with a small smile and attempted to get up, but he grabbed me once again
ROSEWatching him sleep was the most intriguing thing ever. I would just glance here and there at his sleeping form and wonder how such an arrogant, egotistical pain in my behind could look so angelic when sleeping.I drove to the next gas station and then woke him up, as instructed. At first, he was slightly disoriented until I offered a smile which he returned."Switch?" He asked. I nodded and attempted to get out of the car... Until I looked down and realised that I was still in my pyjamas."I um, I need to change before we go anywhere." I said. He looked at me confused and then scanned my clothing and gave a curt nod."You can grab something from your bag and change in the bathrooms quickly." He said. No snarky remark... No Deamian humour, nothing… not even when we both knew that these pyjama shorts were way too revealing to be avoi
ROSEAt exactly 5pm when we arrived in Stella, in front of a fairly small home guarded by a low fence which enclosed around the property. It was all too familiar."Your old house?" I asked. He nodded getting out of the door and opening mine for me. We walked towards the white painted patio and Deamian opened the door with a key he found in his bag."After you..." He said, motioning for me to enter. The house was exactly as I'd remembered. Pale, blue walls decorated with paintings of stars, moons, and flowers. The wooden floors were spotless and had that gorgeous shiny finish. As I entered the living room, I turned on the lights revealing the leather couches and vintage wooden coffee table. The flatscreen TV hung against the wall and looked almost unused. When last had they been here?"Um, your room is just in that passage, second door to the right. Mine is just across
ROSE"Grayson, get off your phone and help your baby sister get the cereal from the cupboard... I'm not joking Gray! Right now!" I yelled as I put the kettle on.Grayson, the young boy I'd rescued nine years ago had grown into a handsome, healthy and very grumpy teenager. I treated him as I did his younger sister, my own biological child and expected him to take the role of alpha... After I transformed him into a werewolf (it was a promise I made to him). I absolutely adored both of my children."Mom, can't she use a ladder to get it down herself." Gray yelled as he took his headphones off.I shook my head at him, grabbed the cereal and handed it to the copper haired girl with piercing blue eyes."Here we go Rachel."She smiled and sat next to her brother, sticking her tongue out and teasing him. I chuckled. Soon Deami
ROSEI was lying on the floor, winded and in shock. What kind of sick and twisted person was she? She must have been a teenager when she'd instructed Adamson to do such a thing... How sick was Scarlett... And how sick was Adamson to obey her. A young girl giving a slightly older boy such an instruction. It was then that I remembered it all. Adamson. He was why I became what I became. He was ruthless when it came to my torture and the deaths of my parents, an older teenage boy. That's what he was back then. A teenager committing acts of terror. And if he was so young and could do such horrible things, what stopped me. When I'd finally escaped, he'd left.It was then that I grew angry. I felt my bones begin to crack and I howled out as fur began to sprout from my skin. I was turning."What?" Scarlett gasped. I guess she forgot about my little unusual ability to transform.
ROSEScarlett stood there in shock. She still couldn't believe it. However, in a matter of minutes her face grew to desperation and she grabbed a nearby rogue."This will have to do!" She said. She cut him, bled him into the ceramic, recited something in ancient tongue and then drank the mixture. It honestly happened so fast that I had no time to react and in a matter of moments, her body began thrashing forward and back, her eyes rolled back, and she fell to the ground. Horrified but still aware of her growing threatening presence I inched closer to her now still body which lay on the ground. Suddenly, her eyes darted open, her hair immediately changing into a dark silver colour and her eyes started becoming a reddish colour. This didn't feel right. What did she do to herself? She stood up so quickly I barely saw her, and then smiled. What the hell."See I may not be
ROSEI didn't know how to feel or how to act. By this time, Deamian had explained everything to me and I was in a state of utter shock. Apparently, Scarlett was taking her revenge on Deamian because she expected to become the next and final moon goddess since they were in love. Now she had a whole revenge plan calculated and constructed to perfection. She was the one who dragged him out of the place but could not bring me along because they hadn’t had enough time. They needed Deamian's Moon blood seeing as he was half of his mom's species. They also needed me for the moon flower essence which I had absorbed, which meant I walked right into their trap. They needed to do it now, before the essence integrated with my DNA and it became impossible to extract. That meant, they only had today. I wish I'd known. I wish I'd been more aware, less naive and gullible. I wish I were alpha Rose and not Rose, Moon Goddess with actual emotions.
ROSEScarlett and I were quiet as we drove. We both knew that when push came to shove, I'd have to use what little power I had... And that would leave me vulnerable and ready to be caught, just as they wanted. There was no denying that this was a trap, that they knew I would stop at nothing to find Deamian who was currently more important than I was when it came to fulfilling their plans.Soon we passed a sign that read "Nightfall Valley". The infamous public werewolf graveyard. Although it was now old and abandoned, there'd been rumours of ghosts at night haunting the place. That was probably true... But I highly doubted they were ghosts. We passed the entrance and I parked on the pavement, next to a pile of rotting wood. Once we exited the car, I felt it. The lingering feeling of the bond between Deamian and I."He's here!" I said, and then grabbed the rifle and swung it around me. It would
ROSEThe next morning, I woke up to the feeling of a cold and empty bed with nothing but a scribbled note next to me. It read:Would have grabbed you too but your boyfriend gave us quite a struggleImmediately goodebumps formed on my flesh and I began shaking. They had taken Deamian in our sleep. They had taken him, and I had no clue where the hell he was. Immediately I jumped out of bed, following his scent out of the house and towards the centre of the pack grounds, not caring that I was in pyjamas because the place was practically deserted with all the killings that had happened the previous night.Panic ran through me as I reached the end of the pack grounds at the gate and the scent of Deamian just disappeared. I even tried to tap into our mind link, try to enter his mind, but I felt still so weak, like a new-born baby.&
ROSEI never felt so cold before. So cold it felt as though melted ice flowed through my veins."Rose?" that voice. I knew that voice anywhere."Deamian?" I muttered out my eyes were still shut, unable to open."Rest. You overused your magic abilities." he whispered. But I didn't want to rest. I wanted to go after Adamson and stab him multiple times in the neck with a pen. That's what he deserved after all.Slowly I fought the invisible force preventing me from opening my eyes.Eventually, I managed to pry my lids open, hissing as the light poured in.Deamian looked down at me, disappointed that I didn't listen.I can't just rest. Not after Adamson. Not after he tried to take someone important away from me... Again. I mind linked him this he sighed, giving up.
ROSEAdamson glared at me. His wolf form was intimidating yes, almost enough to intimidate me. To have me cowering, shaking. He had grown more powerful from the last time I’d seen him. Why was he here… was he in charge?"I see now that I shouldn't have let you live. No, not at all my thorny Rose." he said. That name, that name shot chills through my spine and almost had me absolutely in a state of panic. But I couldn't back down. Despite the flashes of memories of this monster torturing me, laughing at my screams, and humiliating me." What do you want, Adamson?" I asked. I noticed now how his pack had changed thanks to my killings years back. Now his pack was filled with rogues of different rankings, and humans. They were even larger than before."wouldn’t you like to know, my pet?" another demeaning name that made me shiver. But I had to stand my
ROSEAir... I needed air. That was the only thought ringing through my mind as I awoke. My throat was dry, and my ears rang. Was I supposed to feel this way after the memory ceremony? Like I'd been hit by a truck and then smashed continuously by the hulk?I slowly moved my head around and my breath hitched. There was no one here. Not a single soul in the silent, dark place."Hello?" I called out. I then began to hear violent whispers in my ear. I couldn't quite decipher what they were saying."All hail her majesty, Rose, the new Goddess." they screamed in my ears making me cover them with my shaking fingers. Then silence and darkness.Slowly, I began to hear distorted yells and my eyes began to flutter open."…whatever it takes, don't let them near her!" Mr Gimmw
