Brooking A Deal

Chris’s POV

The ride to my parents’s mansion was not so smooth. There was a lot of traffic and the weather was awful.

The sky was very gloomy and there was a drizzle that seemed never-ending.

When we finally arrived, the driver honked the horn as we waited for the gate to be opened. Only a few seconds after the honk, the gate slid open automatically.

The anxiety that I had had tripled and I tried to focus on my breathing. Did it work? Not really, but I kept trying anyway.

The car came to a stop not far from the front porch of the luxurious mansion. The door was opened for me and I got down, glancing around.

A fountain was in the middle of the compound, the sound of running water filling my ears. The flowers and bushes were well-trimmed and the house itself looked like it had gotten a fresh coat of paint.

I didn’t need to worry about my luggage, I knew that one of the guards was going to take care of it.

I expected my father to be waiting for me but he was not, I saw no sign of him. I
