The next day, I prepared for work. Every single action was a weight in my senses, dragging me down. I couldn't see my world the same again.

I arrived at work still brimming from the past day. Dread filled me as I looked up at the tall building.

Yet it wasn't mine.

‘Breathe in…out.'

I repeated that mantra as I slowly walked into the luxurious building. I couldn't look at this place in the same way.

A job I apparently didn't deserve.

I wished I could storm into his office and resign. But now my future wasn't safe anymore. Not with those other creatures following me.

Werewolves. Even though I had understood, the thought still made me shiver.

Now I had to stay here and stick by him until this was over. Against my conscience, I had to follow his rules.

The reminder put a bitter taste on my tongue.
