POV Kayden

When I returned home, I put down my things and asked the maid, “Where’s my wife?”

She hesitated for a moment, then pointed toward the backyard. “Madam is… washing the car.”

Washing the car? I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

I made my way to the backyard and there she was, Zara, scrubbing away at the car with such focus and energy that she almost looked like a professional. I stood there for a moment, just watching her. She was so absorbed in what she was doing, her skirt partially soaked, sweat forming droplets on her forehead. She wasn’t concerned about how she looked or the sun beating down on her. She was just… happy. There was something infectious about her joy, something that lifted my own mood just by watching her.

The maid must have noticed my expression, because she quietly said beside me, “Madam never puts on airs with us. She even helps with our work. She’s such a nice person.”

I smiled at that, appreciating the sentiment, but my attention was still on Zara.
