“What?”

“Yes, she needs a funeral. So, it will be after two days after Friday. Come with your sisters,”

“I will,” Caleb responded and was about to turn away. But something worried his mind. He can’t let his girlfriend’s mother grieve alone. Ruby’s father is going to work. Being alone will bring more sadness to her for sure.

“Can I come inside?” Caleb asked her. She brightened a little and invited him.

“You keep on pacing around the hall for one hour. What’s wrong with you,” Chloe asked Caroline with irritation. Chloe is seated on the couch eating popcorn and distracting herself from the thought of Charlotte. She doesn’t want to think about her.

“Today Daniel is leaving Roshord. He called me once, but I didn’t pick up. I was busy at work. Now he’s not attending. Hereafter, I can’t able to talk with me,” she told Chloe, who’s still distracted by Charlotte’s thoughts. Care is glancing at her phone every minute like looking at a watch.

“That’s your problem? He’s an actor, he will always be busy. You can’t expect him to take your call,” Chloe responded after a minute

“I knew that. But he will always respond to me. What if he’s on the way to New York?” Care went crazy thinking about him. She can’t able to think about him since the homecoming night. Now he will be gone too. The person who makes her happy. She misses his voice. In front of him, all she did was act like she didn’t care about him.

“You are overthinking. If he’s so important to you, then watch his movies. What do you think?” she suggested, which made Care angry.

“It’s no fun. Why should I see his movies when I can talk with him? Especially, he always acted in romance movies. I don’t like it anymore,” Care voice is barely audible. Her jealousy is visible to Chloe.

“Someone here is so jealous. I can feel it in the air.” Chloe smirked, putting a single popcorn in her mouth.

“Iam not. You might have heard it wrong. I just said he’s acted in many romance movies. I like it.” she lied to herself. A few years back, she loved all his movies. Now she’s not interested in seeing him acting with other girls.

“Oh, I see,” Chloe raised her eyebrow.

“Don’t look at me like that. He’s my...” She stopped herself from saying idol. Daniel told me not to call him an idol. Then what else can she tell to her sister?

“He’s my...” Care bit her nails nervously. Right at the time, Daniel called her. She smiled brightly, seeing his name on her phone screen. She even saved one of his hot pictures on his number.

“Hello,”

“Hey, Caroline. You took the phone in one ring. Something important.” he laughed through the phone. How can he be happy? She may never be able to see him again for a year? After a year, he will forget her.

“You are leaving today, right? Now, where are you? I can’t able to say goodbye.” he can easily see how much she worries about his departure.

“We already told bye on homecoming day. Now Iam on my way to New York on my private plane,” he spoke so calmly without any feelings.

“Yeah. Good luck with your movie.” Care frowned.

“Hm... bye,” she was about to hang up when he kept on being silent.

“Hang on. I was just kidding,” his laughter echoed through the phone.

“I don’t understand. Tell me clearly, Daniel,” she raised her voice.

“Slow down. I like to play with you,” Care blushed and can’t able to figure out anything.

“Are you going to tell me or not?”

“I am not going to New York, Caroline. The movie will be taken here in Roshord.” He sounded both happy and sad.

“Wow... oh my god. I didn’t expect this,” Care told herself, keeping her phone away from her.

“Are you there? Caroline,” he called her name.

“Yes. yes. It’s good, but you seem sad about it,”

“Of course. I think you would know this earlier. My movie plan is cancelled due to Becca’s missing case. No one should move around another place until it’s solved. Especially not me who had been her boyfriend.” Care voice struck hearing the same name again and again throughout the day

“Now you broke up with her. So, what’s the problem?”

“That’s the problem. I confronted her in public. They are stupidly investigating everyone who is close to her. If I broke up with her, that doesn’t mean I did something to her. Don’t I any other works than going behind that bitch. It might be anyone. She’s a girl with more enemies,” Daniel told with frustration. Care didn’t think a famous actor will have a problem because of a high school student. Although, her voice was struck with the memories of burying Becca and who shoot her in her arms.

Care clutched her hands, remembering the pain. The day she thought she will die.

“It could be anyone. Don’t take it seriously. At least I am happy you are staying here,”

“You are happy. I thought you will be happy if I went to New York,” Daniel teased.

“Who told you like that? I am happy right now,” she turned red, but he can’t see any of her reaction.

“Then we will meet again. Till then, bye, Caroline.” his voice is so sweet like him. She doesn’t want to hang up.

“Bye, Daniel.” She smiled to herself while Chloe is noting every move of Caroline how she’s talking with Daniel.

“Someone is so happy. Can I know about that?” Chloe asked innocently in a childish voice.

“That’s...” Care trailed off when their front door opened with a loud noise. Charlotte is standing with her violin.

“I got to go,” Chloe said to no one in particular. She kept the popcorn aside and walked right towards her room.

“Chloe” Charlotte shouted behind her. She kept her foot in between the door and wall before Chloe can close the door.

“Iam sorry for my behaviour. I knew I hurt you. I don’t care much about Tiffany, but I should have not behaved like that to you. I am wrong, but I have one piece of advice for you.” Charlotte stopped and stared at her sister, who’s listening to her with a hurt look on her face.

“Don’t be naïve and innocent. When someone snapped at you like me, just yell back to them or do something. But don’t stay silent. It will show you as a weak person,” that Charlotte moved her foot her the door.

“Now you can close the door again,” Charlotte walked away.
