After a short nap, Hestia got up from the sofa and observed her surroundings. Turning her head from left to right, she took in how the day was nearing the late hours of the afternoon as the hues outside of the windows were painted with orange, yellow and then faded to violet and blue— indicating the wee hours of the afternoon. She also noticed that there was no more chatter present anymore, that everything was quiet.
Except from the faint scratching of a certain pen to a course paper. She turned her head to where the sound was coming from and she saw Damian, sitting while intently focused on what he was writing. He seemed to be composing an essay of some sort as he sometimes stops mid writing and seemed to contemplate for a
SSHS 28 By the second day that Hestia was back to school, as fast as the rumours go, as vicious as the flashing flood did the students of La Florence Academy were swarming the school ground talking and sharing gossips about the whereabouts of the Student Council Vice President, as feral as they were when she came back yesterday, swallowing her in darkness as they asked questions after questions without any break or pause, how their curiosity was flooding the whole atmosphere in a suffocating sense— — did they grow quiet just as fast. Just as vicious as they were just a few weeks ago, when they would lounge at the target person of the gossip to ask endless questions, ju
SSHS 29 It was the second day of her return, and she has a lot of work to do. Paper works are laying in a neat pile beside the table of the Student Council President and are waiting to be touched, reviewed and signed. It was the second day of her return and there was a lot of work to do. She has yet to ask the two other members about any meetings, any upcoming events and the likes. It was the second day of her return and there was a lot to be done, and yet, when she opened the doors to her classroom, everything went quiet. Even Excami stopped talking and looked in her direction. “Good morning Hestia.” Excami greeted her with a wave and a bright smile and then went back to talking with the other students. Excami was the only one who greeted her as she entered the cl
SSHS 30 “Ms. Galvez, this is the fourth time that you have been sent here in my office for the same exact reason. And I have told you time and time again in which you responded to understand and will never to do so— that to never bully another student as it is unethical, unconstitutional and down right petty on your part,” The Guidance Counsellor couldn’t help but heave a deep sigh and lightly massage her temples, as it is particularly stressing to be dealing with Ms. Galvez. “I am quite surprised that you always seem to get yourself out of this trouble, only so that your parents wouldn’t hear about this. However, you may not escape this time, I am sending you home immediately with a suspension letter.” Ms. Galvez— or more kno
SSHS 31 But, his racing thoughts were soon taken out of his attention when he flinched again as a cold hand touched his shoulder. Then he heard a voice after, saying, “No need to be frightened, I'm not going to hurt you.” Hestia said. He can’t place on what spectrum of emotion Hestia’s voice was when she spoke. He can’t pinpoint at all although he was somewhat an expert at doing so— knowing the emotion of a person baked on their tone, this is a basic skills for him— but he still can't figure out what Hestia was feeling or what she is trying to present to him when she said that or spoke to him. All that he knows is that her manner of speaking is like a monotonous robot— someone that has already a script read for them to read as a response… like she’s automated to do so just that— like she is literally an ‘Ice Queen’ because the way she spoke was also cold like her aura.
SSHS 32 It was well into the afternoon of Thursday, in the second week of September, and it was evident that everyone was busy with their tasks. Aside from the another upcoming charity event next week, clubs were also busy making their recruitment materials in order to persuade other students to join them. In the hallways, there were students who were seen carrying some banners, fabrics and some vases as they helped the other faculty staff in decorating the grand gymnasium. Unlike Mr. Vasiliev’s grand event, this one is a little bit tamer, and not as grand, really serving the purpose of a charity event. Meanwhile, the current presidents and vice presidents of each clubs were seen standing at the entrances of every building and even the very entrance of the school, holding flyers and whatnot containing the information about their clubs and th
SSHS 33 Students were seen running from all corridors and all sides of buildings. Mainly first years were on the run as the older years were chasing after them, holding pamphlets and boards and also signing papers, persuading them to join their clubs. Most of the juniors were running at full speed as they saw the seniors as somewhat aggressive with just a recruitment and so they used flee as an option. Ultimately, if this is how they recruit, then how will they act once part of the club? Will they be aggressive too? Or worse? However, in the eyes of Damian, this is nothing new. He also experienced this when he was a first year. A lot of clubs, especially the Archery Club, the Karate Club and the Chess Club were competing for him to join them. It even got to the point that they dec
SSHS 34 It has been two days since Hestia returned to the school. And everyone noticed how she was back to her cold self. And nobody has the courage to ask her with regards to it, not even Damian, not even Excami, and not even Albert. Also Freya— although she considered herself close with Hestia. But, right now, she was just glad that she was able to be of help to her junior. Even though she’s feeling some tingles on her spine from time to time just by being close to Hestia. She just wants to relish these kinds of moments and that she wants to rebuild her relationship with her… kind of like starting over and working her way into being close to Hestia again. &lsqu
SSHS 35 La Florence Academy, a prestigious school that every elite member of the society wants to go into. A school that has a high quality of education, despite the trash personalities of its students. It is a kind of school where it almost reflects the harsh society outside of its fences, and the school somewhat acts as a shield for the minds of its students as they train them to be able to stand their way into the harsh and feral world. La Florence Academy was dearly loved by all of its students and staff— both from the past and the present— as it was considered their second home. La Florence Academy was always buzzing with life, even on the weekends. Mostly, clubs related to sports would often come to La Florence Academy to practise and improve their body for a
