McKenna's POV.
"Ma'am, I have contacted Mr. Williams, and he said he would bring everything here right on time." Irene, an employee, said. I looked at my assistant, Jonah, and saw that sweat is trickling down his face. Well, he's in deep trouble if that man doesn't arrive here in 20 minutes.
We are currently at Dixon's company, the new building he contracted with us. The building is bound to be opened to the public in 2 weeks, so I've been overworking myself and my employees non-stop to make sure everything is perfect. I pity every one, including myself.
I tried massaging my temples, except the headache wouldn't go away. I wasn't used to this, the yellings, the sleepless nights, everything. My parents did a fantastic job of keeping me away from this life. I'm just grateful I had Ian and Luke around me to talk about these things. If not, I'll be so lost.

McKenna's POV.My body became so rigid and stiff. I felt a sudden dread and sense of coldness taking over my body. My chest suddenly felt tight that I could hardly breathe, but I didn't care. All I could think of was:'He left me. He left too. He said he would always be there for me, but he lied.'I felt tears well up in my eyes as I suddenly let out a heart-wrenching scream."McKenna, what's wrong? Tell me, please. You're acting strange. What did Luke say? Talk to me, girl." She tried to hug me, but I pulled away and made my way to the seat I was sitting on a few minutes before. I picked up my bag and made my way out to the building, all the while ignoring Adeline's plea for me to tell her what's wrong. She held my arm, but I pushed her to the ground. I felt horrible for doing that to her, especially after I saw the pained expression on her face. But all I could think about now is the
McKenna's POV.It's been a week since I received that text message. Luke, Dixon, and Adam have been super cautious since then. They made sure I had security everywhere I go. I don't think the guy or whosoever that was poses any threat to any of us, but they won't listen.I'm currently with Ian in his room. I stared at his face as he took slow, steady breaths. Fortunately for him, he's able to breathe on his own now. I was so happy when the doctor said Ian is getting so much better and is likely to wake up soon. I haven't left his side since then. I kept my eyes open all day, so I will be the first he sees when he wakes up.I asked him if he saw traces of drugs in Ian's system that froze his heart, but he said no. That heightened my suspicion that the text was probably a prank."He'll be here in ten minutes, you know."I groaned as I placed my hands on my head. I crossed my hands at the lady standing in front o
McKenna's POV.We made our way in, and I looked at the staircase leading to the top floor. This place has to be the most beautiful and wealthiest house I've ever seen. Words can't describe the beauty it holds. We heard footsteps coming towards us, and I raised my head to see who it was. A middle-aged man was standing in front of us, and he's staring at me as he knew me."Oh my," He had a lot of emotions going through his eyes. There was a surprise, contentment, and just pure shock. He approached me and groaned as he walked."Why didn't Dixon inform me that we are having guests? I would've prepared my famous pasta. I swear for a businessman, that lad can be so forgetful." Ada rolled her eyes."Wow, Greg. I can feel the love. You just walked past me like I'm invisible." She whined, making the man turn around to face her. He smiled and cutely tapped her cheeks."You know you'll always be my favorite among you thr
McKenna's POV.The blond-haired guy landed a blow on my face, and I felt my soul leave my body. He stood to his full length as I struggled to get some air into my lungs. What on earth have I done to deserve this? More tears welled up my eyes as I tried to move away from them with the little strength left in me."You've been a naughty little vixen, and you've been teasing us for hours, girl. Now, I'm going to have some fun." They both began walking closer to me. I felt my heart practically beating out of my chest as I desperately tried to move back with all the strength I can gather."P-please, leave me alone. I beg you. You can take the money in my purse. Just leave me alone, please." A hideous smile appeared on the face of the other guy as he sneered at me. They were so close to me, and I know that they can tell how scared I am from my trembling."AHHHHHH!!!!!!" I screamed as the hoodie guy pulled me cl
Third Person's POV.The familiar gate to Dixon's complex opened up as George drove through the driveway and stopped in front of the entrance. He rushed to the passenger side. He opened the door for Dixon, who carefully got out of the car with McKenna in his arms, afraid to hurt her. The security guards rushed to him when they saw their boss covered in blood, wanting to know if he was hurt. Not wanting to waste any more time, Dixon rushed McKenna into his penthouse and straight to his bedroom. He gently laid her onto his king-sized bed, which was covered with a fluffy white comforter. Not caring a bit about her bloody body ruining his bed, Dixon covered her up with the blanket after he pulled off his coat from her body. He sat beside her, just watching her. Her face was pale, and her hands felt cold when he tried to hold them. There was dried blood all over her body and her ripped shirt that left her chest exposed. He rushed to his closet, goin
Third Person's POV.A Few Hours Earlier..."Princess, wait," Dixon yelled as he tried to run after her. He ran past Adeline, who had a worried look on her face. She knew McKenna. She knew that whenever that lady was mad, she always ran away from home, and every time that happens, she always ran into trouble.Dixon ran as fast as he could after her. He could see her blond, wavy hair in the distance. Dixon kept his eyes on her, not wanting to lose her. Not looking at where he was going, he crashed into a little girl."I'm so sorry, baby girl. Are you okay?" He asked her as he helped her up her feet. She nodded and smiled at him before going her way. He looked up to the direction he last saw McKenna go through. She seemed to have disappeared. He ran towards that direction, hoping to still catch up with her. It's been an hour since he lost her. It's getting dark, and he's scared for her cause he knows j
ThirdPerson's POV.It didn't take long for Dixon to register what had happened."McKenna." He muttered as he dashed out of the living room, running frantically up the stairs. It wasn't long before he pushed the door open and barged inside.McKenna was standing in the middle of the room with Luke on the opposite end. Luke had his hand on his cheek, and Dixon's lamp, which was previously on the bedside table, was shattered on the floor."Princess, what happened? Are you alright?" Dixon said as his breaths calmed down, seeing her awake and safe."He---He scared me." She said, pointing at Luke, who still had his hand on his cheek."Was that enough reason to break my face with the freaking lamp?" Luke replied. Dixon looked between both of them, trying to sniffle his laugher."I didn't break your head. Stop exaggerating.""You would've i
Third Person's POV.BANG!It all happened in a split second. Dixon had turned around with a frown on his face as McKenna ran straight at him. But just as she reached him, her body jolted back into him, taking the impact of the bullet. It was the bullet that was to take his life. She took the bullet for him.One of the officers took the gun from Trevor quickly as another shot him in the leg. He let out a scream in pain. Sophie ran into the room, curious as to what caused the noise.Simon stared at the woman that came in with shock evident on his face. What was she doing here dressed as an FBI agent, he thought to himself as they stared at each other. He opened his mouth to say something, but the other agents pushed him and the others out of the room."MCKENNA!" Dixon shouted as he wrapped his arms around her, who came toppling down. Her eyes were filled with pain and tears, enough to make her u
McKenna's POV.Crying is the act of shedding tears in response to an emotional state. But after a certain threshold, even the tears runs out.My tears had long run out, and yet another sun was on the verge of setting. Another sunset without Dixon's arms wrapped around me every night when we'd go to the balcony after dinner to watch the sun disappear on the horizon and how he'd pull me closer when we played games in the living room with Ian and Liam.It had become their thing. A tradition that we never miss. I remember how Dixon would rush through meetings to make it back home in time before the sky is painted in various hues of purples and oranges. He'd kiss me softly as the last hue of orange disappeared, and I remember feeling like the happiest girl in the world.Dixon.He would have noticed her missing by now. I can't even imagine the pain and worry that he and every other person will

Third Person's POV.Everyone turned to look at the young woman who walked in like she had no care in the world with Dixon's father. Sophie knew that her coming here was a big step. The guys were intelligent, they would've uncovered the truth by now, but they don't know her mission yet.David stopped in his tracks when he saw his son. The two stared at each other, one not believing his eyes and the other thinking he doesn't want to see him. David moved closer to his son as he enveloped him in a tight hug. He couldn't believe his son was back after everything that had happened. Dixon smiled a little when he saw the exchange. Even though his dad never admits it, he knew how much he missed Leo. Luke saw red, anger coursing through every vein in his body. Sophie was the one that kidnapped her. What the hell was she doing here?"What are you doing here? Where did you take Kenna?" Ian said, his voice dripping with anger and hatred. "Wh
McKenna's POV.I opened my mouth to say something, but no words could form. The pain shooting from the back of my head also isn't helping matters. I watched as she walked to Trevor and placed a chaste kiss on his lips."What are you doing? I don't want my girl thinking we have a thing." He turned to me, an innocent smile on his face, but I knew better. "Don't worry, baby. I'm all yours."What the hell is he saying? He ran his finger down my cheek to my neck. Itried fighting him off, but I couldn't. His touch made my skin crawl, and I did the next reasonable thing I could think of at that moment. I spat on his face.He closed his eyes, letting my saliva trail down the side of his face. He laughed as he wiped it off. My face turned to the side as a harsh slap landed on my cheek. Another kick landed on the side of my stomach, making my insides churn. I swallowed my tears. If they think they can brea
McKenna's POV.My body hurts. I could feel the pain shooting at every single muscle in my body, my head pounding and some liquid flowing down my face. My hand reached out to massage my throbbing temples trying to alleviate some of the pain, but frustration coursed through my body at the inability to move.'Ugh, my head hurts.'I slowly opened my eyes to see that I was in a dark room except for the light peeking through the small window at the top of the room. I looked around the room for a way out, but there's nothing except the window. What am I doing here? How did I get here? I can't remember anything. Think, Kenny. Think. The only thing I seem to remember was the restroom and Sophie. My eyes seem to widen as I finally realized what happened. Yes, Sophie brought me here."Sophie!!! Sophie!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. My head hurts, but I need to talk to her. I'm sure she has he
Dixon's POV.I feel so happy and complete sitting here with Leo like old times. Seeing my brother after so many years has fulfilled me in more ways than one."She's a keeper then?" He asked me some minutes after McKenna left for the restroom. I looked up at him and smiled."Yeah, she is.""I'm proud of you, baby bro. You have no idea how much pride and joy I felt whenever I see you on television.""That weirdly made me feel good." I laughed out. I watched as his countenance changed within seconds. I know that look. He's beating himself up again."I'm sorry, Dix. I should have been there for you when you needed me the most. I should have believed in you sooner. I should've known you're strong enough to fight the disease. I shouldn't have walked out on you that day. I shouldn't---""You really need to stop apologizing. It's all behind us now.
McKenna's POV.I stared at the building in front of me in disbelief. I can't believe Dixon brought me here. I took my eyes off the building to look at him. He had both hands in his pockets as he stared in concentration at the building."A rehabilitation center?"He shrugged his shoulders before moving closer to the building. I placed my hand on his biceps to stop him. I can't, for the life of me, understand why he brought me here."What are we doing here, Dixon? You said we were going somewhere. I didn't know you were bringing me to a rehab center?""You don't want to come? We could go back if you want. I only came because you promised to come with me." His eyes looked sad as he said that. My brain seemed to receive some signal as I remembered the promise I made him."It's okay. I'm sorry you went through all that. I could go with you if you don't mind."
McKenna's POV."Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite cousin."Dixon turned to him, anger emitting from him as he squeezed my hand.I placed my hand on his biceps, giving it a little squeeze, to calm him down. I don't want him getting angry at this event. It's supposed to be our breath of fresh air considering everything we've been through recently."What do you want, Trevor?" Trevor sipped his drink like he had no care in the world. The disgusting smirk on his face irks me to my bone, making my skin crawl."Can't a man be happy for his cousin? I came to celebrate with you. Congratulations on opening a new office, Dix.""Don't you fucking dare call me that!! You have no right." I can see the vein on his neck at this point. He's angry. I just hope he doesn't have a tantrum again. I looked at the man standing in front of me. He had a nasty smirk on his face and a glass with whiskey in his hand. I can't
