“Gavin, can I stay here for a few days,” Sacha nervously asked, after finally taking her own bath too and coming out wrapped in one of Gavin`s extra towels.
He first looked surprised by the request. Sacha understood why…they were...well...still strangers who only met just last night and woke up married. Now she was asking to stay with him too!
“Its just until we deal and sort out the whole Vegas marriage thing,” She quickly added,
“Also I don’t live in this state. I only actually came here for a vacation break. However I cannot use my bank card and I also cannot go back, to the hotel I had booked-“She found herself now rambling nervously,
“I understand and you can stay as long as you need,” Gavin intervened, with a reassuring smile, causing Sacha to stop rambling and sigh in relief.
“Thank you and also do you have anything I could wear? I don’t yet have my bag and things,” Sacha also asked, not wanting to repeatedly wear the now worn-out black lacey party dress. She hoped Mandy would send her stuff soon.As soon as she spoke that, Gavin quickly left and came back minutes later holding some female clothes.
“I borrowed them from my downstairs neighbor, extra clothes left by her daughter who moved out,” Gavin added as he handed them to her.
“Thanks!” Sacha thanked him while accepting the light blue jeans, white tank top, and a cute-looking female leather jacket.
After changing, she went to go search for Gavin and he was in the small kitchen busy rummaging through the cabinets.
“What you doing,” She curiously asked,
“I thought I would find something to cook for you but seems I forgot to grocery shop,” He replied looking bothered that he could not give her anything to eat.
“You know what, let’s go eat out instead,” He suggested grabbing some keys from the table and motioning for her to follow him.
But before leaving through the door, he surprised her as he stopped, and waited for her to go out first like a gentleman.
As they walked downstairs, it was easy for Sacha to notice that the kind of place and environment that Gavin lived in was not like the ones she had grown up used to.
She could even see paint peeling off some walls, broken rails, and overcrowded small rooms as they passed by the other apartments.
It was totally different from her life of mansions to fancy penthouses and lots of staff doing her family's bidding.
This place was the kind of place that her mother would not even dare step foot in unless she was accompanied by bodyguards and if it would get her some good press.
But for Sacha, here she was just a normal person and strangely she was loving it. Plus the peace and quiet of not having her family hovering over her or company duties keeping her busy. Gavin led her to the small parking place and Sacha first stood frozen as she saw him head for a black and red colored motorbike.
“Um are we riding that?” She apprehensively asked,
Gavin nodded while taking and bringing over one of the helmets for her.
“I have never ridden one before,” Sacha said again,
“Are you scared?” Gavin instead teased with a daring look in those alluring grey eyes of his.
“No I am not,” Sacha strongly replied with a fierce look, not one to back away from a challenge.
“Well if you are…just hold on to me,” Gavin instead whispered right into her, leaving sweet Goosebumps tickling her skin.
Then he handed the helmet to her.
Before she could reply, he was already on the motorbike wearing his own helmet too. Sacha quickly put on the one in her hand, then she walked over and cautiously got on too.
She could not believe that she was about to do this, ride a freaking motorbike!
As soon as the engine sound started, the first thing Sacha found herself doing was wrapping her hands very tightly around Gavin.
“Oh Lord, don’t let me die.” She found herself thinking and wondering what she had got herself into. But then she felt Gavin`s large hand wrap around her small one with a reassuring squeeze before he returned to the handles.
Then they started moving heading for the road and she had her eyes closed at first, expecting a horribly uncomfortable experience.
But all she felt was a smooth ride and motion.
She quickly opened her eyes, realizing that it was really not that scary after all.
As they now rode in an empty road with fewer cars around, she untangled her hands from holding on to Gavin. She was now instead greatly enjoying the ride, the adrenaline rush to the blazing wind beating against her hands whenever she extended them.
She felt free.
She found herself not wanting this ride to end.
But end it did as a little Diner appeared as if out of nowhere, with Gavin heading and parking there.
Once parked, he got off and helped her get off too.
“So how was it,” he anxiously asked, worried that she might have been uncomfortable. Being her first ride and all,
“I…I Loved it!” Sacha excitedly answered after having the helmet off. She was totally going to buy her own and learn to ride back home. But as she thought that, she almost laughed as she imagined the look that would be on her mother`s face if she found out that her daughter was now riding motorbikes.
“Good,” Gavin replied looking proud and surprising her with a sweet kiss on the forehead,
“This is my mother`s favorite place to eat out,” He told her as they started walking, to the small charming little diner.
“Why?” Sacha curiously asked,
“It’s where she first met the love of her life while working as a waitress,” Gavin answered, while also taking her hand into his.
Sacha found herself invaded by unfamiliar butterfly feelings, as they walked into the diner, hand in hand like a real couple.
Although it was small and did not look like the luxurious restaurants that Sacha was used to going to, she could admit that the place had its charm. It just had this homey-like atmosphere, retro look and she could even smell the delicious food being made all the way from the Kitchen. There was even a small old jukebox playing some jamming beats. They found a seat at the corner near the window and sat waiting for one of the waiters to come while reading the menu.“So regarding our marriage, Mandy is a divorce lawyer and said that she is going to handle it. However it may take 6 weeks or so to finalize,” Sasha found herself speaking and informing Gavin, After all, he deserved to know and she was going to need him for the paper signings. But before he could reply, a waitress arrived at their table. And all talk about Divorce left Sacha`s mind as soon as she noticed the skanky-looking waitress start trying to flirt with Gavin right in fro
“What is it about him that is making me feel like this. What has he done to me.” Sacha found herself biting her bottom lip in confused thought as she secretly glanced at Gavin. This was while pretending that she was focused, reading the novel in her hand. Right at this moment, they were at his workshop where he was busy fixing a car while she just hang out there with him, not wanting to stay back home alone. “Home,” Sacha found herself thinking, was this what that little cozy studio apartment had become to her? All her life, she had lived in mansions and manors but none had ever felt like home. Instead, they had all felt like prisons, always knowing that she was being watched and never free to do what she wanted. But here with Gavin, it was like a breath of fresh air. She could wake up when she wanted, wear what she wanted, spend the day however she wanted but best of all, get to spend more time with Gavin. She did not know why, but there was just som
Upon hearing Sacha`s response, the happiest smile in the world quickly took over on Gavin`s mother. They then went back to talking about Gavin`s baby pictures as he entered the room coming back. They spent more time with her until she started kicking them out to go home. “It getting too dark, and you have a long drive until you reach home.” She told them with a worried motherly look. “Sacha if Gavin ever gives you problems, let me know, for no man is too old to get spanked by their mother!” At hearing this, Sacha quickly burst laughing happily while replying that she would definitely do so. “Jeeze mom and love you,” Gavin also spoke with a fake scowl on his face while leaning to give her a sweet kiss on the cheek as they said their goodbyes. “So what did the doctor say…” Sacha awkwardly asked, not knowing if she was allowed to inquire so. But she had to. Now that she had met Gavin`s mother and become close with her, she too now found herself w
Sacha lay on a towel, wearing a two-piece swimsuit with a serine-filled look in her eyes as she gazed at the sea. The way the waves crept steadily towards her, gently drenching the sand while softly dousing the golden sandy beach. The sun`s rays laminated her skin with heat as she lay there sunbathing. Today was Sunday, not that she was counting nor cared. Each moment that she was spending here with Gavin, time seemed to become irrelevant. Since it was a weekend, Gavin had brought her here to the beach. Switching positions she turned around to also stare at the sky. While also using Gavin`s sunglasses to protect her eyes from the sun. Only to end up closing them for a small lazy nap. As soon as she did, she felt a shadow arrive blocking her sun. A smile instantly graced her face as soon as she felt more movement, and delicious tasting lips meeting hers. He was back. He had left to go acquire some surfboards saying t
Sacha first stood there contemplating what to do after that horrible phone call. She knew her mother was serious and would do what she had threatened to do. She would make sure that Mandy ended up in jail tonight even on false made-up charges. And Sacha could not let that happen to Mandy because of her own selfishness. It was time that she returned back to her family and face the music. The only good thing though was that her mother seemed to not know yet about her marriage to Gavin. Sacha felt grateful that Mandy had not let that out even while under pressure. Dialing Mandy`s number, she waited for her friend to answer. But it went to voice mail. Still, though Sacha decided to leave a voice message. "Mandy...I am so so sorry for the trouble I seem to have got you in. You are a good friend and I promise that I will make it up to you." After leaving that, she finally turned around and started walking along the beach coastline in thought.&nb
As soon as she had flown back, Sacha had ditched her cousins by hiring an uber. and headed straight to her penthouse apartment, not wanting to go visit her mother with them. She was not in the mood to see her after what she had done to Mandy. During the trip, Sacha also bought a new phone, with Gavin`s number being the first thing she saved as she renewed her old number. Her phone immediately pinged with loads of messages and call notifications from her mother during her absence. If only she had a way to block her mother`s number, but she could not because if she did, her mother would show up in person and give her more trouble. Sacha preferred communicating with that woman on the phone because at le
An exquisite red carpet graced the front door of the Greenwood mansion. With a succession of top luxury cars arriving at the big gate where everyone had to present their invite. Elegant and dignified guests came out of the luxury cars, with many bigwigs having brought their own bodyguards too. All of them were dressed in expensive-looking brand clothes, and let's not even mention the jewelry. Sacha got out of the car, the fancy one which her mother had sent. This from knowing that her daughter would arrive in whatever car if she did not send one. Still, Sacha really did not want to be here. There was even the press and paparazzi taking pictures of the guests. Of course, knowing Peter, he loved the attention and publicity. But did he have to use her as an excuse to throw
Gavin`s Pov "Son," Gavin looked at his mother upon hearing her call his name. He had visited her at the hospital as he always made sure to do every week. "I can see the sadness in your eyes, did something happen between you and my daughter-in-law?" she asked, looking worriedly at her son. She had noticed this week that he had not been himself. Then was him not bringing his beautiful wife along too. "Sacha traveled back to her home country for family stuff." Gavin finally replied, Right now he was depressed from missing her. He had last spoken to her three days ago. He had noticed too, how tired she had looked. So he was not angry about her missing his calls. Still, a part of him was worried, what if she no longer loved him anymore? What if she had found someone else? "If you ask me, its not good for a young couple such as you two, to be apart like this," his mother commented now realizing what was truly worrying her son. However as his mother offered the advice, Gavin found
Sacha first sent a glare at her mother for orchestrating all this. “Say YES,” Sacha saw her mother mouth to her demandingly. This made her inwardly scowl; she was not some robot to be dictated on what to do. Still, her palms were almost sweating from the pressure of being cornered. This was as Sacha found herself, surrounded by guests with expectant looks, all waiting for her to say yes so that the celebrations could start. Then was the horde of paparazzi with their cameras already flashing as they took pictures for the engagement news tomorrow. Even Peter had a smug arrogant look on his face of already expecting her to say yes. However, Peter that arrogant jerk was the last person on earth that Sacha would ever want to get married to! Maybe if this had happened before she met Gavin, she might have said yes for the good publicity and then canceled the engagement afterward in private. But now things had changed after her trip to America, she now had a husband and one she was very
