RONNELL POV

It was late, well past midnight. Sleep, however, was a distant dream. I stood outside Blair’s door, the thin panel separating our rooms. Had she noticed the peculiar arrangement? I'd listened intently more than once, hoping to catch a sound, a whisper of her presence.

I rested my head against the door.

I had screwed up today and hadn't even realised it while I had been doing it. When I sank into work mode, personal relationships didn't really exist at that time.
